MemberGood evening Anthony,
Thank you for your files.
I have been able to run some pretty extensive tests and I believe I have found the cause of the issue.
It looks like version 4.2+ of the Events Calendar Pro breaks oEmbeds (such as YouTube). We are sorry about all of the inconvenience this has caused and a bug fix is underway.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be informed as soon as the fix is out.
In the meantime, I have a couple of workarounds for you:
- You can roll back to the Events Calendar 4.1.3 by grabbing a copy from your downloads page (as suggested earlier). You don’t need to roll back the Events Calendar free.
- You could add the following snippet to your theme’s functions.php https://git.io/vo5f9 . You don’t need to rollback with this solution, but you will need to re-save your content as it does not fix things retroactively.
Best regards and thank you for bringing this to our attention,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Arnaud,
Thank you for trying my recommendations.
I’m sorry that this did not work out for you.I did some extensive additional testing and I was able to reproduce the issue.
It looks like the oEmbed features from 4.2+ in Pro are interfering with Divi’s videos oEmbed. This is a legitimate bug and I have opened a bug ticket for it. We are sorry about the inconvenience this is causing.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.
The good news is that I have a workaround for you. If you go to: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/, download and install version 4.1.3 of Pro (instead of 4.2+), the bug will disappear completely. You can leave the free version at 4.2+
Another workaround would be to keep the current version of your plugins, but to add the following snippet to your theme / child theme’s functions.php: https://git.io/vo5f9
That second fix will not work retroactively though. You will need to update/re-save your content.
Best regards and thank you for bringing this to our attention,
Geoff B.

MemberGood afternoon Jill,
Thank you for writing back.
I’m sorry that the problem persists even with a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen.
This is very strange. At this point, the next logical step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if there are any conflicts with other plugins at play.
Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
As for a recommendation for a child theme plugin, I really like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/child-theme-configurator/ (but that’s just a personal preference)
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

No worries. We are mostly trying to help.
Let me know how that goes and if you have any questions about Event Tickets Plus.

MemberGood afternoon Brett,
Thank you f0r writing back and for your kind words.
What will happen to all of the events I’ve already published using EC Pro when I revert back to EC Core? If I have events that were set up as recurring, will they still be there as individual events or will they all get deleted?
That is a great question. When you deactivate Pro, the recurring event will become normal separate events that have “no relation” between them.
Additionally, you will loose all of the Pro views and any custom field you might have created for your events using Pro.
Let me know if there is anything else you need answers to.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Fred,
Thank you for your answers and for the system information.
I ran several tests on my end and I can totally reproduce the issue.
However, with the snippet installed, saving the product (or re-saving it) solves the issue completely.Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some additional tests on my end ?
Have a good week-end,

MemberGood evening Brett,
Thank you for writing back and for your understanding.
The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.
Is there anything else I can help you with on this topic ?
Have a good week-end,

MemberGood evening Shelley,
I’m glad that the save settings issue is gone!
I’m sorry that we did not yet find a solution to your Google Maps issue.
The next step on my end will be to follow up with Dev to see if they have additional ideas about this (on Monday). On your end, if you don’t mind (and perhaps using a maintenance plugin), you could go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to rule out any potential conflict.
Have a good week-end,

MemberGood evening Dan,
Thank you for writing back and answering my questions.
For the record, a RAW HTML container will not work, only a text widget in Appearance > Widgets will.On my end, I ran some tests with the latest version of Visual composer and I was able to get the shortcode to display properly.
Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some additional tests on my end ?
I believe that there might be a conflict at play.
Hang tight as we try to sort this out.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Marcy,
That’s a great question. Unfortunately, there is no built-in option for that.
But, simply asking us to close the thread and mark it resolved is a very simple way to achieve the same result. You are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂

MemberGood evening Arnaud,
Thank you for the system info.
Based on your setup, I have a couple of recommendations:
- You might want to read our recommended WPML setup for best compatibility and complete it’s instructions: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
- When you upgrade, can you try ensuring that your WP Super cache is off and cleared ?
- After the upgrade, could you try re-saving your permalinks ?
- After the upgrade could you try the WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page option and use the top 3 buttons ?
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
Geoff B. -
