    Good afternoon Jill,

Thank you for your detailed answer, for the files and for running those tests.

I think I found out what the issue is with your shortcode (thanks to your screenshot). By the looks of your system information, I believe you are missing the following third-party plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-shortcode/ or at the very least, it’s not activated.

Would you mind giving this a shot ?

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Hello Shelley,

While talking to Dev, I stumbled upon the following post which I believe describes your exact situation (no Google Maps without the API): http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.ca/2016/06/building-for-scale-updates-to-google.html

Simply put, Google has changed their policy on Google Maps API.

At this point, if you haven’t already read it, another useful ressource would be: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

If none of these are helpful, you might want to open a ticket with Google to see what more they require from your specific config.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Valery and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your question.

Hi, I wonder if I can export all categories calendars (all events, all years) in one shot to ical.

I believe my colleague Cliff has the best answer to that question: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ical-export-entire-calendar/#post-1088880

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening David and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the video embeds being converted into events! This was certainly unintended.
I would love to help you with this topic.

There is a glitch with oEmbed objects that was unfortunately released in version 4.2+ of our Pro add-on.
We apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused.

The good news is that you have 2 workarounds available:

    1. Rolling back to version 4.1.3 of Pro from your downloads page: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ until the bug is fixed.
    2. Using the following snippet in your theme’s functions.php file: https://git.io/vo5f9

The only downside to the second solution is that it’s not “retroactive”. You will need to re-save your content on the broken pages for the snippet to kick in.

The other good news is that we are working on a fix for our next maintenance release. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when fix is released.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Rodrigo and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I would love to help you with this topic.

    I likes your Calendar demonstration : http://wpshindig.com/events/but I can’t do a calendar like this

What you are looking at is a demo site that includes all of our different plugins as well as special wp-shindig WordPress theme.

This means that, based on the fact that you are already a Pro owner, you would also (at least) need a copy of our tribe filterbar add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/ if you are interested in the filter.

As far as the look is concerned, there is a great variety of existing third-party WordPress themes out there that integrate nicely with our Calendar.

As a next step, could you please clarify for me if you are more interested in the visual of our demo site or in the elements found on the page ?

On our end, I will check if it’s possible to obtain an unsupported copy of the theme for you.
Let me get back to you on this one.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

I just realized I skipped your second question. My apologies.

I will be selling tickets via the Event Tickets Pro widget and Moneris payment gateway widget (both purchased), so I’d really appreciate some instructions for setting this up.

Actually, the tickets are sold via our Event Tickets Plus plugin (not our Pro add-on).

I am not sure which e-commerce platform you will choose (most people prefer WooCommerce, but it’s a personal choice).

Either way, I recommend reading the following to get started: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-tickets/

I’ll gladly answer questions you have along the way.

Good evening Sheldon and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us and providing us with the breakdown of what you are looking to do.

I would love to help you with this topic.

Based on what you have told me, at this moment, I would advise against using recurring events.

I realize this might come as a surprise to you, but let me explain the rationale behind my recommendation:

    • At this point, recurring events unfortunately do not support separate tickets for each recurrence. In other words, the only available option is to currently to have 1 ticket set for the whole recurring series.

This means that you would not be able to have separate tickets for each event, let alone tickets with different prices.

But, I do have some good news for you:

    1. We are working very hard at releasing that very feature (which is a hugely popular request). I can’t provide you with a specific date yet, but stay tuned! Very soon!
    2. In the meantime, to save you double / triple entries, you can use a third-party plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Timothy and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about your events not showing properly on your site!
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

The good news is that I can see that your calendar is displaying at least some of the events here: http://sucasamemphis.org/events/

Secondly, could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?

Finally, if you could provide me with a screenshot of the Edit event screen of an event that is not displaying in your calendar (but should), that would be super helpful.

Good evening Robert and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the maps not showing on your website!
I would love to help you with this topic.

All of this stuff seems to be related to some change google made on June 22 and seems to only affect sites that have changed domains after that point.

You are absolutely right, Google has tightened it’s security rules around wildcard API keys.

As you might guess, we have very little control on what Google decides. As a temporary solution, I would suggest trying to remove the API key altogether temporarily to see if that displays the maps.

Also, if you have not already done so, I would recommend reading my colleague Cliff’s excellent article on this very topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

Finally, as an additional troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Good evening Jon and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the maps not displaying properly on your website. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

I totally understand where you are coming from, including how you do not have time to investigate this one event at a time. I want to apologize for how frustrating this situation must be for you.

With that in mind, I would like to investigate this for you and hopefully find out what is going on.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Secondly, could you share with me which FB page your are importing the events from so that I can run some tests ?

Thirdly, I am noticing that there are several JavaScript error messages in the Google Chrome Console on your website. It is too early to tell what type of impact these have, but I will keep a close eye on them as I go through my tests.

Finally, can you tell me if you are using a Google Maps API key in Events -> Settings -> APIs ?

Hang tight as I investigate this for you.

    Best regards,

Good evening David and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about your site crashing upon updating. This is terrible and certainly was not intended on our end.

I would love to help you with this topic.

As you might know, each website install is different in many ways, so it’s difficult to know exactly why this happened on your end. But, I would still like to offer some recommendations based on what I have observed with some of our other customers who unfortunately experienced something similar to what you described.

As a rule of thumb, it is worth trying to first upgrade the Events Calendar free plugin on it’s own (as opposed to trying to update the free AND the Pro versions simultaneously). There is a significant chance that this might solve your issue permanently. But since you already tried that, I believe we can rule this out.

The other most common reasons for error 500 messages are:

    1. Lack of WP_memory (as defined in your wp-config.php file)
    2. Corrupted .htaccess file in the process of updating (either because of a security plugin, a caching plugin or simply a webhost)

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Secondly, could you provide me with a screenshot of your settings under Events -> Settings -> General ?

    Best regards,

Good evening Loren and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the featured image size not meeting your expectations.
I would love to help you with this topic.

There are a couple of ways to go about fixing this (depending on your situation).

The simplest way would be to modify your medium image size as defined in Settings > Media (e.g. 1000 x 452).

Once you do that, you can then simply force thumbnail generation using a plugin such as: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

The downside to this approach is that ALL of your medium images will now have that size (which might not be what you want).

The other approach would be to add a snippet to your theme’s functions.php file to force a default featured image size. You might want to take a look at the following to get a sense of how that works: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/set-featured-image-size?replies=2

Let me know if that helps.

Good evening Jonathan and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us and for the system information.

We are sorry to hear about the fact that too many tickets were sold. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic and, as a side note, I would like to offer to continue this conversation in French if you prefer.

We totally understand how serious this issue is. Hopefully by working together, we’ll be able to get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible.

As a first step, your offer of screenshots would absolutely help to fast track this. You can select the “Set as a private reply” to make sure it stays private.

Secondly, it looks like you have a couple of customizations going on, so I will need to ask a couple of questions to pinpoint the issue and reproduce it on my end:

    1. Is this the case for one specific event or for many ?
    2. Are you able to reproduce this on your end as a test ? If so, does the issue persist if you temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-fifteen (preferably in a test environment or at the very least after temporarily activating a maintenance page.
    3. Could I get a private screenshot of the settings of that event and of it’s tickets ?
    4. Did this only happen after a recent update ? And if so, was W3 Total cache on during that process ?

Hang tight, as we work at getting to the bottom of this.

Good evening Adam and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Im looking for a solution (willing to go PRO for sure) that will allow display of a list of events starting ‘today’, ‘this week’ and ‘next month’. Is this possible via TEC with a special shortcode, template tag or function?

    This is a great question.

Our advanced widget and shortcodes that come built-in with Pro would certainly give you a head start: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

As you can see, there is a “This week’s event” widget with Pro and there is already a day view built-in the free version of our plugin.

As for the “Next month” view, this will most likely require a bit of customization / template overrides on your end. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

The good news is that our plugin is specifically architectured to allow a vast amount of control on what gets displayed and how.

Moreover, we are currently working on seriously expanding our shortcode abilities. It’s to early to provide a date, but stay tuned!

Finally, it seems like might be a more advanced user. In this case, you might also want to take a look at our functions archive: https://theeventscalendar.com/functions/

Let me know if that helps to get you started.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
