ParticipantI am trying to figure out the best way to setup my custom recurring events for a website I’m building for a Comedy Club. The club typically has comedians in for up to two weeks at a time, but also have acts that will only perform for a night or two.
The comedians perform either once or twice per night, with an early show and a late show. The showtimes differ somewhat based on the day of the week – breakdown below:
Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 p.m.
Fridays: 7:45 & 10:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 7:15 & 10:00 p.m.The ticket prices differ per day of the week – breakdown below:
Tuesdays: $12.00 – 2 for 1 admission
Wednesday & Thursday: $12.00
Friday: $15.00
Saturday: $17.00I will be selling tickets via the Event Tickets Pro widget and Moneris payment gateway widget (both purchased), so I’d really appreciate some instructions for setting this up.

MemberGood evening Sheldon and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us and providing us with the breakdown of what you are looking to do.
I would love to help you with this topic.
Based on what you have told me, at this moment, I would advise against using recurring events.
I realize this might come as a surprise to you, but let me explain the rationale behind my recommendation:
- At this point, recurring events unfortunately do not support separate tickets for each recurrence. In other words, the only available option is to currently to have 1 ticket set for the whole recurring series.
This means that you would not be able to have separate tickets for each event, let alone tickets with different prices.
But, I do have some good news for you:
- We are working very hard at releasing that very feature (which is a hugely popular request). I can’t provide you with a specific date yet, but stay tuned! Very soon!
- In the meantime, to save you double / triple entries, you can use a third-party plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberI just realized I skipped your second question. My apologies.
I will be selling tickets via the Event Tickets Pro widget and Moneris payment gateway widget (both purchased), so I’d really appreciate some instructions for setting this up.
Actually, the tickets are sold via our Event Tickets Plus plugin (not our Pro add-on).
I am not sure which e-commerce platform you will choose (most people prefer WooCommerce, but it’s a personal choice).
Either way, I recommend reading the following to get started: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-tickets/
I’ll gladly answer questions you have along the way.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the prompt reply. A couple follow up questions to confirm:
1) So my process for the time being should be to add a new event per day, using the duplicate event plugin. I would then set the two available tickets for each event for the “Early Show” and “Late Show” and then manually set the price for the tickets, based on the day of the week?
2) You had mentioned “very soon” for getting the new feature for multiple tickets added to recurring events. I know you can’t provide an exact date, but can you confirm if we’ll have this in the next month?
Thanks again.

MemberGood afternoon Sheldon,
Thank you for writing back.
1) So my process for the time being should be to add a new event per day, using the duplicate event plugin. I would then set the two available tickets for each event for the “Early Show” and “Late Show” and then manually set the price for the tickets, based on the day of the week?
For now, that looks like your best available process.
Once the new features are out, you should create recurring events based on days of the week. This will take care of the different pricings.
2) You had mentioned “very soon” for getting the new feature for multiple tickets added to recurring events. I know you can’t provide an exact date, but can you confirm if we’ll have this in the next month?
Based on what I know, next month is highly unlikely.
We are more looking at somewhere in late summer early fall.Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
