ParticipantI’m trying to add a shortcode to our website to show the upcoming events but it isn’t showing. It’s only showing the shortcode text.
Is there something I am missing?

MemberGood evening Dan and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us and for sending your system information.
We are sorry to hear that the shortcodes are not working as intended on your website.
I would love to help you with this topic.I’m trying to add a shortcode to our website to show the upcoming events but it isn’t showing. It’s only showing the shortcode text.
Is there something I am missing?I’ll need to ask you a few questions in order to troubleshoot what is happening:
- Could you provide me with the shortcode in question (as you are trying to use it) ?
- Are you adding the shortcode through the “Text” editor or the “Visual” editor ?
- Can you tell me if the shortcode works when used in a text widget ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Here is the shortcode we’re trying to use:
[tribe_mini_calendar]
And we use Visual Composer for our site, but we tried doing it in the “text” editor and nothing happened.
We also tried adding inside a Raw HTML container and that didn’t work either.

MemberGood evening Dan,
Thank you for writing back and answering my questions.
For the record, a RAW HTML container will not work, only a text widget in Appearance > Widgets will.On my end, I ran some tests with the latest version of Visual composer and I was able to get the shortcode to display properly.
Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some additional tests on my end ?
I believe that there might be a conflict at play.
Hang tight as we try to sort this out.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Dan,
Thank you for your files and your words.
I was able to run several tests. And I believe I have found the issue.
Could you please make sure the Events Calendar Pro is activated on your website ?Only by deactivating the plugin was I able to reproduce your issue.
This is because Pro is required to display this shortcode.Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood afternoon Dan,
I’m super stoked that this worked for you!
We want to get an “Upcoming Events” section to look like the image I attached.
Unfortunately, it looks like the attached image got lost in Cyberspace. Would you mind reposting or sending me a link to the image in question ?
That way, I’ll be able to answer your question better 🙂
Have a great day!
