    Good evening Maddie,

I am glad that the workaround was a step in the right direction.

Full disclosure, this workaround has known imperfections (such as the “see all” link not working properly), but usually access to each individual event was not an issue.

For that reason, could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive in a private reply) so that I can run some tests on my end ?

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates you might have made.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Hi again Kieran,

I am super glad you found a fix. Kudos on that!

You are 100% right, there is a glitch on some installs that causes an error 500 to occur, which in turn can cause a white screen.
As you saw in the related thread, an official bugfix is on it’s way. Thanks to Chris, at least you have a workaround for now.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.

Is there anything else I can help you with on this topic ?

    Best regards,

    Good evening Kieran,

Thank you for the system information and clarifying what you meant.

You are right, currently there is no way to add more than 1 fieldset at a time.

But I can totally see how that would be really cool and useful.
In fact, you can suggest it or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

In the meantime, perhaps that could be achieved through some customization.

Perhaps you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Luis,

    Thank you for writing back.

I took a second look at your theme files and I have found the culprit.

In the single-event.php file found in the Virtue theme (/virtue-theme/tribe-events/single-event.php) , “Find out more” string is being associated with the theme files.

..’Find out more’, ‘virtue’.. at line 76

There are a few things you can do about that:

    1. Change that line to replace the previous bit with ..’Find out more’, ‘the-events-calendar’…
    2. Locate and update your theme’s language file for Spanish

Thank you also for suggesting better translations.
    The good news is that:

    1. You can contribute to that effort here: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects
    2. You can always override any of these translations to your liking as long as you keep your files in /wp-content/languages/. You will need to grab a copy of the free Poedit software to do that.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening James,

    Thank you for writing back.

    You have 2 options:

    1. You simply add the downloaded .zip file as is within WordPress’ built-in “Add plugin” interface (look for the button at the top)
    2. You can copy the whole unzipped folder via your FTP client

Both methods are well explained here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downloading-and-installing-the-plugin/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Henny,

    Thank you for writing back.

To update locations please do the following:

    1. Make a complete database backup
    2. Access phpMyAdmin
    3. Find the wp_posts table
    4. Do a search to filter by the “tribe_venue” post type
    5. Look for the locations you want to update and write down their post ID
    6. Go to the wp_postmeta table and do a search by post ID
    7. Update the required data
    8. Repeat step 5 to 8 for each location

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Good evening James,

As it turns out, hiding the purchase form when the event is labeled Private is intended behaviour.
So this is not a bug.

Unfortunately, Eventbrite’s current API does not allow us to display the ticket purchases with that privacy setting.

    Good evening Bryon,

    Thank you for writing back.

I must say this is super odd.

If you can indeed confirm that no other organizer entry was created with the same URL but is sitting in the trash (not fully deleted), then the best way to tackle this problem would be to go straight into the database using phpMyAdmin.

But before doing that, I would recommend a complete database backup.

Here’s a breakdown of how to go about this:

    1. Log in to phpMyAdmin
    2. Find the wp_posts table
    3. Do a search for the following post-type “tribe_organizer”
    4. Find the post has “organizer” as a post_name
    5. Delete it

You should now be able to change the slug of your organizer by editing it’s permalink straight in the post.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Gilbert and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing while using recurring events with WPML on your install. I would love to help you with this topic.

As it turns out, we unfortunately do not currently fully support recurring events with WPML.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might be creating.

That being said, I have some pretty good news: we are just about to release that feature in the upcoming 4.3 version (which is scheduled for early October). So stay tuned!

In the meantime, we do have a manual workaround available. It is not perfect, but it gets most of the functionality up and running. It involves some manual updates using phpMyAdmin.

Let me know if that is something that could interest you ?

Why did you not put the “add media button” next to the editor, this is the only way to use PDF embedder.

This is a great question. The short answer is that I am not sure why that is the case.
So I will forward the question.

With that in mind, I can totally see how this would be a cool feature. In fact, you can suggest it or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

You could also include the button via a template customization. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Finally, please note that Community Events and WPML are not yet fully supported together.
But we are totally working with the WPML team to make all of our plugins work together nicely.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening James,

    Thank you for this.

It allowed me to run some additional tests. It turns out the culprit is the Privacy setting of the event.
You can test that out by making the event public on Eventbrite.

This immediately restores the ticket on your site.

I will open a ticket for this.

    Hang tight!

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Maddie,

    Thank you for writing back.

You can find the manual workaround here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wpml-recurring-events-3/#post-1142644

Please make sure you perform a complete database backup before doing anything.
I typically recommend method #2 (temporarily deactivating and reactivating WPML) to assign languages to every recurring event.

Just one quick question for clarification. As I mentioned before, the very first recurring event I created worked perfectly fine. Does the recurring event / WPML incompatibility occur sort of at random, or what would cause the first event to work and the rest created afterwards not to? I am just inquiring out of curiosity.

Simply put, all of the recurring events are created properly.
What is going on is that their existence is not relayed properly to the DB table that WPML uses to know which post is in which language.

As such, WPML thinks they do not exist.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
