Participanthello all.
Im adding organizers and ive noticed some of them are “organizer-name-2” instead of “organizer-name”
I dont have any duplicate organizers so not sure whats going on. Any suggestions?

MemberGood evening Bryon and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the “2” creeping up in the slug of some of your organizers
I would love to help you with this topic. This part is actually a WordPress feature, it does not stem from our plugin.
A number is automatically appended to the URL when the same URL is already reserved. This can be caused by:
- Another organizer using the same URL unbeknownst to you. F0r example, an organizer that has a different title than it’s slug.
- An organizer entry that was created with the same URL but that is sitting in the trash (not fully deleted).
- An organizer entry that was not properly removed from your DB after deletion
In any case, I would recommend trying the following URL to see what happens yoursite.com/organizer/organizer-name
This should lead you to the organizer entry that has the URL without the number appended.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantSo if I go to yoursite.com/organizer/organizer-name, it takes me to yoursite.com/organizer/organizer-name-2
How can I fix this?

MemberGood evening Bryon,
Thank you for writing back.
I must say this is super odd.
If you can indeed confirm that no other organizer entry was created with the same URL but is sitting in the trash (not fully deleted), then the best way to tackle this problem would be to go straight into the database using phpMyAdmin.
But before doing that, I would recommend a complete database backup.
Here’s a breakdown of how to go about this:
- Log in to phpMyAdmin
- Find the wp_posts table
- Do a search for the following post-type “tribe_organizer”
- Find the post has “organizer” as a post_name
- Delete it
You should now be able to change the slug of your organizer by editing it’s permalink straight in the post.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
