ParticipantHi
I am using a text ticket fieldset to collect dietary information but it just causes a white screen when I click add to basket.
Any help much appreciated. I’ve tried the default theme but still not working
Kind Regards

ParticipantAlso I must add by using the ticket fieldset its messing up the layout of my events page. As soon as I untick the Attendee Information box everything works fine

MemberHello again Kieran,
I certainly look forward too helping you have a better ticket fieldset experience.
As requested before, I believe having your system information will go a long way towards achieving that goal.Based on the fact that the white screen persist with a default WordPress theme, I am pretty sure there is a conflict with another plugin.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Hang in there!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I implemented the code change in this thread here
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/http-error-500-when-trying-to-save-attendee-info/
and I no longer get a white screen. But it’s not storing the ticket field information all the time though. It did work first time!
I was getting a http 500 error in internet explorer and white screen in Mozilla. Maybe its coincidence I’m not sure but it isn’t white screening anymore after that code change and sounds like my issue could be linked.
The events layout issue was a strange one and most likely linked to my cache plugin but I’ve sorted that now. Strangly I added some css code provided by Avada which fixed it. Then removed the CSS and it was still working. V strange!
My site isn’t live yet and I backup everyday so happy to make change on this site
Kind Regards

MemberHi again Kieran,
I am super glad you found a fix. Kudos on that!
You are 100% right, there is a glitch on some installs that causes an error 500 to occur, which in turn can cause a white screen.
As you saw in the related thread, an official bugfix is on it’s way. Thanks to Chris, at least you have a workaround for now.Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.
Is there anything else I can help you with on this topic ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.
