    Hi there, Marcus! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble here with email notifications. Let’s see if we can figure out what’s happening.

    Let’s start with answering a few questions that will help us dig deeper:

    • Is it possible the emails are actually being sent, but are landing in a trash/junk/spam folder instead?
    • Are order receipts working and sending correctly for other types of products that are not tickets?
    • If the answer to the previous question is no, what happens if you temporarily deactivate WooCommerce Tickets and place an order? Do the emails come through then?
    • Would you be able to run through our troubleshooting steps (but be sure not to deactivate WooCommerce itself) to see if you can uncover any conflicts?

    Also, is it possible you are working on a local environment? Some local configurations and even hosted ones do not allow emails to be sent, thereby preventing wp_mail (the WordPress functionality used to send emails) from working. In these cases, I’d suggest trying the WP Mail SMTP plugin to overcome this.

    Please answer these questions and try the suggested plugin, then we’ll go from there. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff

    P.S. I see you opened this thread in our Pre-Sales forum. We typically reserve this forum for questions about the plugin prior to purchasing them, so I’m going to move this one to our WooTickets forum instead. Same URL, but easier to find. 🙂

    Hi Thomas, thanks for getting in touch!

    Good question. I see what you’re talking about. The cost of the last created ticket is being used rather than what should be displayed, which is the price range.

    I see that this was reported as a bug just a few days ago and has been entered into our system. Unfortunately, we don’t have a specific timeframe for when this will be cleared up, but we’ll notify you when it’s ready.

    In the meantime, here are a couple of possible workarounds:

    • Use the tribe_get_maximum_cost() function. This will add the ticket amounts together, which I know is not exactly what you’re looking for, but will be a truer reflection of the cost of the event with the add-on.
    • Create a custom field and add it to the template where price instances occur. This would allow you to enter and display an exact amount for each event. Advanced Custom Fields would be a great place to start for this.

    Sorry you’re bumping into this issue–we’ll keep you posted as we have more progress to share.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

    Hi there, Mark! Thanks for getting in touch.

    Good question. You can customize the layout of your single events by modifying the single-event.php template, which is located at: /plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single-event.php.

    I’d also suggest heading over to our Themer’s Guide, which outlines the process for customizing calendar templates without affecting core files. This will help avoid losing your work when a plugin update is available.

    Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Thanks Shaun! I’m still seeing a couple of errors pop up. Is it possible to resolve those as well?

    And while we’re at it, will you please try follow the steps outlined in our Testing for Conflicts guide? Specifically, let me know if you see a difference under the following conditions:

    • All other plugins are deactivated
    • A default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fourteen) is activated
    • All plugins are deactivated and Twenty Fourteen is activated

    Also, I notice you are using WP Engine for hosting and Yoast SEO. Will you please clear cache from both of those prior to testing for conflicts?

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Nate! Thanks for getting in touch and for checking out the plugins–we hope they’re a fit for what you’re looking for. 🙂

    Good question. The Community Events plugin is designed to work specifically with The Events Calendar. It does not integrate with or extend the functionality of any other plugin.

    We’d be happy to discuss your needs with you–send us an email to support [at] theeventscalendar.com and we’d be happy to get in touch.

    In the meantime, does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Micah! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. 🙂

    You might be able to change the title tag using a snippet. Here is one that includes a ton of examples of how to change the title tag on various calendar views.

    I do want to point out, however, that I have seen conflicts where the snippet above does not work while Yoast is activated and it’s always been caching-related. It’s worth trying, but if it doesn’t work for some reason, you may want to try clearing your site’s cache through Yoast as well as your host.

    Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

    Cheers!

    in reply to: Pre-Sales Question for Events Calendar Pro #940728

    Hi there, Rob! thanks for getting in touch and checking out the PRO plugin. 🙂

    Good questions. First off, I do want to say that The Events Calendar PRO is not necessary for WooTickets to function. All the functionality offered by WooTickets will work regardless of whether PRO is installed or not. Instead, PRO extends the free The Events Calendar version to include features such as recurring events (which, by the way, is not compatible with WooTickets), additional fields, new calendar views, advanced widgets and more.

    That said, let’s try to directly answer your questions:

    1. I need to sell tickets for tours run that every 30 minutes, Monday through Friday, between 10 am and 3 pm.

    You can schedule the date and time that tickets should start and end sale directly in the post editing screen in the Tickets section. This does not require PRO in order to work.

    2. I need to sell adult and kids tickets for each of these, and these tickets have different prices.

    You can create any number of ticket types for an event and set them at different prices. Again, PRO is not needed for this to work.

    3. I need to put a cap on the maximum tickets that can be sold for each 30 minute time slot.

    When you create a ticket in the event editing screen, it will also ask you how many tickets should be kept in stock for that specific ticket. That allows you to set a cap on how many can be sold. PRO is not necessary for this feature.

    4. For each day, I need ticket sales to be cut off 7 days prior.

    This touches on the first question, where you can schedule the time that tickets start and end sale. In other words, you can schedule tickets to stop sale prior to the event at a date and time of your choosing. PRO is not needed for this.

    5. I need to charge sales tax.
    6. I need tax exempt customers to be able toggle off sales tax and upload a copy a of their tax exempt form that attached to the order we receive.

    All tax and transactions are handled through WooCommerce. You can refer to this WooCommerce article that walks through the tax configurations offered by the plugin.

    7. I need to be able to offer refunds for cancellations 7 days out, and reschedule cancellations within 7 days of the event.

    Refunds are also handled directly through WooCommerce. Here’s another article that outlines that process nicely.

    So, at the heart of it, it does not look like you need PRO in order to get the functionality you are looking for and can more than get by with a combo of The Events Calendar (free), WooTickets and WooCommerce. 🙂

    Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for checking out the plugins!

    Cheers,
    Geoff

    Hi there, Houman! Thanks for getting in touch.

    Good question. Transactions are actually handled through WooCommerce instead of WooTickets, so you would need to configure that behavior on the WooCommerce side of things. For example, here is a WooCommerce forum thread that looks like it covers exactly what you’re looking for. I would suggest going that route and following up in the WooCommerce forums if you have any follow-ups.

    Does this help answer your question, at least on the WooTickets side? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hi there, Ainal! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble with email notifications. Let’s see if we can figure out what’s happening here together.

    If you’re not receiving purchase notifications on top of customers not receiving tickets by email, then I suspect that there is a larger conflict at play that is preventing wp_mail (the part of WordPress that sends emails). WooTickets only handles the sending of tickets by email and WooCommerce handles the rest of the notifications (purchase, confirmations, etc.). That means there is something else happening that is affecting both plugins.

    However, let’s start with answering a few questions that will help us dig deeper:

    • Is it possible the emails are actually being sent, but are landing in a trash/junk/spam folder instead?
    • Are order receipts working and sending correctly for other types of products that are not tickets?
    • If the answer to the previous question is no, what happens if you temporarily deactivate WooCommerce Tickets and place an order? Do the emails come through then?
    • Would you be able to run through our troubleshooting steps (but be sure not to deactivate WooCommerce itself) to see if you can uncover any conflicts?

    Let’s start there before we get any deeper. Please let me know what you find. 🙂

    Hi there, Carlos!

    We typically ask that you start a new thread if you’d like direct support on a follow-up question to someone else’s thread, but I’m happy to help point you in the right direction here.

    Yes, that option will add content to all pages throughout the plugin. If you are looking to just above the main calendar, you can use a snippet like this in your themes’s functions.php file:

    add_action( 'tribe_events_before_html', 'custom_events_before_html' );

    function  custom_events_before_html() {

    // Check if displaying month view
    if ( tribe_is_month() ) {
      echo 'Your text goes here!';
    }

    }

    That should get you what you’re looking for. I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but please feel free to open a new one if you have any follow-up questions and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Hey there, Jon–welcome back to the forums. 🙂

    Sorry you’re hitting some trouble with creating posts after the update to 3.9.1. Let’s see if we can figure out what’s going on here.

    First off, are your running 3.9.1 for both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO? Make sure they’re both updated and running the same version.

    Secondly, do you still see the issue if you switch to a default WordPress theme? Please try activating Twenty Fourteen to see if the issue is still present.

    Next, I see that you noted trying to deactivate all other plugins. Did you notice a difference under those conditions? How about when you deactivate all other plugins with the default Twenty Fourteen theme activated?

    Lastly, if the issue is still there, does the issue go away if you revert back to 3.9 for both plugins?

    Please give those steps a shot and let me know what you find.

    Cheers!

    Hi Shaun, welcome to the forums! Sorry you’re hitting some trouble here with the events list displaying events in the homepage widget area, but hopefully we can figure this out together.

    I notice there are several Javascript errors when I view the console on your site:

    http://cdn.threeprinciplesmovies.com/wp-content/themes/videozoom/js/inputtitle_submit.js?ver=4.1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    GET http://cdn.threeprinciplesmovies.com/wp-content/themes/videozoom/js/jquery.qtip.min.js.map 404 (Not Found)

    Failed to execute ‘postMessage’ on ‘DOMWindow’: The target origin provided (‘https://www.youtube.com’) does not match the recipient window’s origin

    Is it possible for you to resolve these errors? Oftentimes errors like this can lead to conflicts in other areas, and I suspect this is the case here as well.

    Please give that a shot and let me know what you find.

    Cheers!

    Hey there, Gabe–nice to see you again. By the way, thanks for splitting your questions up into different threads, that helps a ton and we appreciate it. 🙂

    If I’m understanding correctly, you are trying to embed a video of a recorded event into an Events post. In other words, you are recording your events on video, then need to embed that video in the Event post. Is that correct?

    If so, embedding videos in Events posts is the same as embedding videos in any other WordPress post. For example, if you’re posted your video to YouTube, you can copy the URL directly into the post editor and WordPress and it will display. Here is more on how embeds work in WordPress.

    Does that help answer your question? Let me know if that helps or if I misunderstood the question.

    Cheers!
    Geoff
