GuestI have the Free version, and I also have the woocommerce extension to sell tickets through woocommerce, but I don’t have the pro version of The Events Calendar. So I have a few questions:
1. I need to sell tickets for tours run that every 30 minutes, Monday through Friday, between 10 am and 3 pm.
2. I need to sell adult and kids tickets for each of these, and these tickets have different prices.
3. I need to put a cap on the maximum tickets that can be sold for each 30 minute time slot.
4. For each day, I need ticket sales to be cut off 7 days prior.
5. I need to charge sales tax.
6. I need tax exempt customers to be able toggle off sales tax and upload a copy a of their tax exempt form that attached to the order we receive.
7. I need to be able to offer refunds for cancellations 7 days out, and reschedule cancellations within 7 days of the event. Will your pro version do all of these, possibly in combination with your woocomerce extension?
Thanks,

MemberHi there, Rob! thanks for getting in touch and checking out the PRO plugin. 🙂
Good questions. First off, I do want to say that The Events Calendar PRO is not necessary for WooTickets to function. All the functionality offered by WooTickets will work regardless of whether PRO is installed or not. Instead, PRO extends the free The Events Calendar version to include features such as recurring events (which, by the way, is not compatible with WooTickets), additional fields, new calendar views, advanced widgets and more.
That said, let’s try to directly answer your questions:
1. I need to sell tickets for tours run that every 30 minutes, Monday through Friday, between 10 am and 3 pm.
You can schedule the date and time that tickets should start and end sale directly in the post editing screen in the Tickets section. This does not require PRO in order to work.
2. I need to sell adult and kids tickets for each of these, and these tickets have different prices.
You can create any number of ticket types for an event and set them at different prices. Again, PRO is not needed for this to work.
3. I need to put a cap on the maximum tickets that can be sold for each 30 minute time slot.
When you create a ticket in the event editing screen, it will also ask you how many tickets should be kept in stock for that specific ticket. That allows you to set a cap on how many can be sold. PRO is not necessary for this feature.
4. For each day, I need ticket sales to be cut off 7 days prior.
This touches on the first question, where you can schedule the time that tickets start and end sale. In other words, you can schedule tickets to stop sale prior to the event at a date and time of your choosing. PRO is not needed for this.
5. I need to charge sales tax.
6. I need tax exempt customers to be able toggle off sales tax and upload a copy a of their tax exempt form that attached to the order we receive. All tax and transactions are handled through WooCommerce. You can refer to this WooCommerce article that walks through the tax configurations offered by the plugin.
7. I need to be able to offer refunds for cancellations 7 days out, and reschedule cancellations within 7 days of the event.
Refunds are also handled directly through WooCommerce. Here’s another article that outlines that process nicely.
So, at the heart of it, it does not look like you need PRO in order to get the functionality you are looking for and can more than get by with a combo of The Events Calendar (free), WooTickets and WooCommerce. 🙂
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for checking out the plugins!
