Cliff
MemberHi, Kara. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
I noticed a console error at http://beoutdoorsarizona.org/events/community/add: https://cl.ly/3W3l3T251N3G
(If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Also, I was able to enter text in the Description field, but I did see your Categories section is there without any categories to choose, which is odd. I found your Categories are there to choose from, except they’re hidden by .tribe-hide: https://cl.ly/1q1c2Y3t0v13
Since this isn’t the default behavior, I’d suggest following our recommended troubleshooting steps:
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to TwentySixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any PHP errors you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts mode).
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberHi Rachel.
Could you please clarify which iCal tester you used and what URL you tested?
And are you saying your site’s iCal URL is causing the issue, or are you saying there’s another site’s URL you’re trying to import from that is the issue? If importing, are you using Event Aggregator?
Thank you.
Cliff
MemberHi Eric. Thanks for linking there. Instead of using that code snippet, here’s an installable .zip file (install it at your Plugins screen) that adds two URLs:
- example.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=recently-published
- example.com/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=year
The first is useful when folks are trying to use the iCal importer to pull events from one website to another. It will contain any recently published or modified events. Note: It is subject to the postsperpage setting in WP-Admin > Events > Settings.
The second exports this year’s events (from January through December).
Let me know if this plugin works for you.

MemberHi Dean.
I’m unaware of any Filter Bar versions not working with any versions of TEC PRO.
Filter Bar is currently at v4.3.1 and PRO is currently at v4.3.1.1
You can get the latest versions from https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/ (although I only see a license for Filter Bar, and not PRO, in your account)
If you have follow-up questions, please provide a link, annotated screenshot, and/or video screen capture demonstrating what you mean by “won’t work”.
Thank you.

MemberHi. Could you please clarify exactly what you’re wanting?
Are you wanting these Events permanently deleted, moved to Trash (but not permanently deleted), changed to a different status (Draft, Pending Review)?
Or are you wanting to keep them Published (i.e. their permalinks work) but just hidden from the Month View?
October 24, 2016 at 6:53 pm in reply to: Can I change the first work day in the week to be Sunday in the calendar view? #1182236Cliff
MemberHi Yuval.
You are correct about the setting being at the WordPress level. You can see our KB article about it at Changing the first day of the week.
It is the start_of_week option.
We do not have a code snippet for a dynamic different start day of the week, but you could probably leverage the option_start_of_week filter hook from WordPress core — see documentation for get_option().
If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

MemberHi again, Reinhard.
Thanks so much for your interest in helping translate our plugins!
Here is our process for translations:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/adding-or-updating-a-translation/
Two things to note are:
- You do not have to submit an entire translation, you can just submit translations for individual strings. Even if it’s just one string, or something like a spelling correction, it all helps!
- Your submitted strings will be saved as “suggestions”, and not immediately included in a translation file for export until an administrator approves them. This may seem like a limitation, but it helps us ensure nobody comes along and deletes translations or adds spam or something to them. Your suggestions should be approved in a timely manner.
I hope this information brings you up to speed on our translations site. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! 🙂
Thank you!

MemberHi Kelly. Sorry you’re experiencing these issues.
I’d suggest starting by updating TEC PRO
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- Your License Keys –> to be copied/pasted to wp-admin > Events > Settings > Licenses tab (you might need to unassign/reassign it but that would be out of the ordinary)
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberHi Monica.
You can use the tribe_get_organizer_website_link_label and tribe_get_venue_website_link_label hooks for Organizers and Venues.
You’ll need to do a bit of other editing but that should get you started.
If you can’t get it, please share what code you come up with and I’ll take a look and try to fix it for you.

MemberHi again, Francesco.
I visited an event on your site — http://bristol2night.co.uk/event/billy-elliot-bristol-hippodrome/ — and I see venue information: https://cl.ly/150b350D3P3m
However, I see you’re using Eventica theme so if you have an issue displaying such information, you’ll need to contact their support for this issue.

MemberHi Michael. Thanks so much for your interest in helping translate our plugins.
Please note that we do not provide help on how to use our plugins via these forums without a paid license (like for The Events Calendar PRO). I’ll still provide help regarding translations:

MemberFrancesco, this is a neat idea.
You could request this as a new feature (or maybe search to see if the idea was already posted by someone else) at our plugins’ UserVoice page.
This allows others who are interested in that feature to easily voice their support. We frequently review suggestions there to find out which ones are popular, then we implement as many of them as we can.
If you post it / find it, feel free to link to it from here in case anyone comes across this forum thread in the future.

As far as a file to look into, I’d suggest starting out by referencing /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Geo_Loc.php
tribe_get_distance_with_unit() is used in that file but defined in /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/functions/template-tags/general.php
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
I see you have version 4.2.2.1 of PRO. The latest version is 4.3.1.1, which you can obtain from https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
Please update PRO to the latest version, re-save your Permalinks, and let me know if you’re still experiencing this.
Cliff
