ParticipantI can select a venue from the dropdown but once I publish, it goes back to nothing being selected.
This just started today after I updated to 4.3

ParticipantIt’s not saving new venue information that is added either. It’s not just saved venues that has the problem.

ParticipantForgot to mention, I did the testing for conflicts steps already. Changing the theme and disabling plugins didn’t fix the problem.

MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
If you go to all your Venues in wp-admin, do you see that a Venue actually gets created with the information you submitted, except that its slug/URL has -2 (hyphen two) in it?
If yes, this is a known bug we’ll be fixing soon.
Please let me know your findings.

ParticipantYes, the venue is saving but not associating with the event.

MemberSince that isn’t something we’re able to replicate, I’d suggest following our recommended troubleshooting steps:
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to TwentySixteen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any PHP errors you see while changing tickets quantity, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts mode).
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

ParticipantAny movement on this? Venues still aren’t saving to events.

MemberThe issue with Venue permalinks getting “-2” added to the end has been resolved as of v4.3.1
Is that bug still happening for you?
If yes, that could be the cause for Venues not saving as assigned to an Event.
If the “-2” issue is no longer occurring for you and creating a new Venue still doesn’t assign it to the Event it was created in, please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in my previous reply because this isn’t a bug we’re able to reproduce at this time.
Please let me know what you find out.

ParticipantShoot, no it’s not doing the -2 thing, it just saves the event and the venue is still blank.
This is on the edit end, is there any chance that changes I’ve made on the display end (template overrides) could cause this sort of behavior?
I’m trying to narrow down what changed in that time period when it stopped working.

MemberFollowing our Themer’s Guide wouldn’t affect anything in the wp-admin area. Those template overrides are only on the front-end.
You might want to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see while creating events with venues, creating venues separately, navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket.
There might be some new updates available (new versions released earlier today). Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

ParticipantI updated to 4.3.3 Pro but the TEC download that says 4.3.3 is downloading as 4.3.2.
I’ll work on the debug thing next.

MemberSorry about that issue at https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
I just reported it to our team, so I hope they fix it soon.
In the meantime, you can just go to wp-admin > Dashboard > Updates and those 2 should come through automatically for you.
If you need to download fresh copies for some reason, you can get them at https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-tickets/
Let me know how everything else goes.

ParticipantPossibly useful information: It only doesn’t save when I’m updating old events…i.e. events created before the version of TEC that “broke” the save process.
