MemberHi Melissa,
I know I’m a little biased 🙂 but I don’t recommend using Gravity Forms with Event Calendar PRO. People have made it work, but we also get a lot of users having trouble integrating the two, and it will be smoother if you used Community instead.
We do have a demo of the user submission form at http://demo.tri.be/events/community/add/ The rest of that site is rather outdated, however, so please keep that in mind. We also have some screen shots on the bottom right of the Community Events page at https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-community-events/. We don’t have a way for you to demo the admin side of things, sorry. But as you’ll see in the screenshots that all happens under Events –> Settings within the dashboard. You can also watch a video from our New User Primer (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/community-events-new-user-primer/).
Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Thanks,
LeahLeah
MemberAbsolutely! We have a cool Showcase thread over in the PRO forum that you can check out. You won’t be able to post there but the threads are all open and readable by non-PRO users. Check that out at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/showcase-2-0/
The sites posted there vary from basic uses to highly customized versions. If you have any specific questions about functionality, don’t hesitate to ask.

MemberHi Xavier,
We do has RSS feed capability with the Events Calendar. You can use it to provide readers a front-end feed for subscribing or to feed your events to another site. I hope that helps and you’ll be able to make the switch soon 🙂
Let me know if you have any other questions, and feel free to start another thread here too.
Thanks!

MemberHey tseward,
Good question, and good news! You won’t loose any of the data from your calendar when you upgrade to PRO. The PRO plugin acts as a separate plugin that adds functionality- the two actually run simultaneously.
Did that answer your question? Let me know if I can clarify anything for you. Thank you for your support!
Cheers,

MemberI appreciate your thorough comments, Ray. The start and end dates should certainly be consistent with Eventbrite, so I’ll note that particularly as something to fix. Thank you!
Leah
MemberThanks Ray! We totally agree that it would be best if more could take place within WordPress, and we’re working to make that happen. We’ve also got an upcoming Wootickets add on that will work that way, which is pretty exciting. I’ve added your insights to our notes. Thank you!

MemberI’m glad that you’re patient, but please understand that the next release won’t necessarily have the functionality you’re looking for. But hopefully soon we’ll have something that works for you- or you’ll figure out a way to custom code it 🙂
Thanks,

MemberHi wow,
You’re definitely not the only person interested in this kind of functionality. Depending on what you want to achieve, there are a couple ways to do this using custom code or a user manager plugin. I recommend that you read over these other forum threads for some ideas:
As mentioned in one of the above posts, any custom code or additional plugins that could help you with this will work in either the free or premium version of The Events Calendar. So you can test it out with no purchase necessary and figure out if it can do what you’re looking for.
Thanks for asking, and don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any followup questions.
Cheers,

MemberThanks James! We’d had reports of that image error before but not in conjunction with the import issue. I’m going to chat with a dev about this and one of us will get back to you with a substantive answer. Thanks for your patience!

MemberThanks for the great suggestions everyone. Since you posted about the featured image, that has been added so I hope you are now basking in it’s glory 🙂 We agree that exporting events from Events Calendar would be awesome, but it’s a much more complicated process than importing them and not an immediate priority. We try to respond as best we can to customer demands and this is definitely one of the most requested features.
Tineke- there are some screenshots of this add-on on our site at https://theeventscalendar.com/facebook-events/. You might also want to check out our Eventbrite add-on at https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-eventbrite-tickets/. Through the Eventbrite add-on you can list and register your attendees on Eventbrite.com. We’re also working on a Wootickets add on that would provide something similar within your WordPress site. If you have any more questions about our products, feel free to ask on the Pre-Sales forum (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/forum/_welcome/pre-sales-questions/).

MemberGreat ideas Kelly & Ray! Thanks!

MemberWe’re working on the beta. It’s coming 😉
Leah
MemberThanks for all the great ideas, everyone! We really appreciate the input and do our best to respond to customer demand. I’ve added these ideas to our internal feature requests list.
Nicole: We’re not prioritizing Paypal integration right now, but we do have a Wootickets add-on in the works so people can register attendees from within the site. If you want a way to charge for events right now, check out our Eventbrite add-on that allows you to do just that. We’d also like to add a way for people to charge users to submit events, since that has been a popular request.
We’re also working to improve our recurring events so they could be customized even further. It’s another popular request, and hopefully it would make your wish to copy events moot 🙂Sandie – although we don’t have this feature built in right now, you can change the form options by editing the CSS. If you’re familiar with code and interested, check out our themer’s guide at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

MemberHey Kim,
Currently the only built in way to register people for events is using the Eventbrite add on. Using that, you can do ticketing and registration, and send emails to attendees. We are also working on a Wootickets add-on that will allow registration for free events all from within the WordPress site. We’re working on the beta for that and hope to release it soon.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
