    Sorry for the confusion here. We don’t mean to bug you 🙂

    I looked at your account and you have an expired license for Event Aggregator, in addition to a valid one. The email you received was probably triggered by that expired license. If you’d like, we can go ahead and fully delete the expired license from your account so that doesn’t happen again. Just confirm that works for you and I can take care of that ASAP. In the meantime you can get the same discount using the coupon code renew20-86345. Please note that this coupon code will only work with your current billing email on the account you posted from. And yes, it will be 20% on all your renewals 🙂

    I just wanted to chime in here and give a note about the issue that was reported with organizers coming in as blank.

    We were able to identify the problem and we’ve got this logged in our system and are working hard to fix the issue. It isn’t going to fit into the maintenance release we’re planning for later this week, but it is still very much a priority.

    Thank you so much for your help here- you gave us just what we needed to be able to identify and recreate the issue ourselves.

    The good news is that we’ve got this logged in our system and are working hard to fix the issue. We’ll update this thread once the fix is available. It isn’t going to fit into the maintenance release we’re planning for later this week, but it is still very much a priority.

    The bad news is that I don’t have a great solution for you in the interim. You can keep the Event Update Authority setting on Do not update events, live with the blank organizers, or temporarily go back to using the legacy Facebook Events Importer plugin. None of those are perfect, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

    Hi again,

    Our team has also written a SQL script so that you can clear the comments and postmeta from your database. These 4 queries will help you erase that extra information. Please note you may need to adjust the table names depending on your install.

    DELETE FROM wp_postmeta WHERE meta_key LIKE '_tribe_aggregator%' AND meta_value is null;

    DELETE FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_type = 'tribe-ea-error';

    DELETE FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type LIKE 'tribe-ea-record' AND post_status='tribe-ea-failed';

    DELETE FROM wp_postmeta WHERE NOT EXISTS( SELECT 1 FROM wp_posts WHERE ID = post_id );

    I hope the above is helpful while we work on getting out the fix to this issue.

    I replied to you in your other thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/issue-with-fb-events-after-aggregator-showed-up-in-wp/) with details about how Event Aggregator works and how you can continue to use Facebook Importer if you prefer. We are happy to work with you there to figure out the Facebook issue. We can also assist you with the organizer issue you mention here, which we are already looking into for another customer.

    That said, please understand that we have many customers to support, and having you post multiple threads like this slows us down. We are happy to help you, but please help us to be efficient by not asking the same questions in multiple threads.

    Hi Christos,

    I think I can help get things back on the right track here.

    Event Aggregator is a new product, and we gave a free license for it to everyone who had one of our importer plugins, like Facebook Events. Event Aggregator has a lot more features and options than Facebook Events- but you do not have to use it. We gave you a free license because we think Event Aggregator is like a new and better version of Facebook Events, and we were excited to share it with our existing customers. But it’s your choice whether or not you want to use it. However, it will continue to be listed under _Legacy Imports_ because it will no longer receive feature updates.

    You can certainly keep using Facebook Events Importer if you prefer the way it works. We did not make any changes to the Facebook Importer plugin, but it sounds like you might be experiencing an issue or bug with it. If you can tell us more about the issue you are seeing, we would be happy to help you resolve it- and you can ignore Event Aggregator.

    I hope that helps clarify things. We’d be happy to help you learn how Event Aggregator can work for you, or assist you with troubleshooting the issue you’re seeing in Facebook Events. Just let us know how we can be helpful.
