ParticipantHi Paul,
Sorry to hear this didn’t help yet.
What you’re trying to do here may indeed be possible, but unfortunately only by way of some custom code. We cannot help with custom coding, as per our support policy here, so I won’t be able to troubleshooting this snippet and help get it working as ideally as possible. Check out our support policy here for more information on this → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/what-support-is-provided-for-license-holders/
I wrote a custom snippet despite all this because I thought it would help, so hopefully the snippet at least gets you started.
You’ll have to take the reins from here on writing custom code to hide these messages; I have, in the meantime, created a bug ticket so that we can hide this in the future for non-Administrator-level users.
For now, though, some ideas/responses:
• The snippet I shared above hooks to the user_register WordPress hook, which you can read about here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/user_register This action fires upon user creation so it doesn’t matter if it’s a front-end registration or back-end.
• Instead of using the user_register hook, you may find some luck by looking at other WordPress actions and seeing if they provide hooks of their own. Here are some examples to check out:
- https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_update_user
- https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_insert_user
• You may also find some success by filtering the main admin_notices hook in the first place, which is the hook all admin nag messages use to display at the top of the page. You can learn more about this here → https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/admin_notices
I apologize that I wasn’t able to put together a fully-working snippet here; I hope the resources I’ve shared above help you take the reins on continuing to tinker with custom code.
I’ll close this thread for now. Open a new thread any time if other issues or questions arise.
And just to reiterate, I have logged this as a bug and so hopefully in an upcoming release of our plugins this message will only show for Administrator level users, not any user level lower than that (because these users can’t update/install plugins anyways, so they shouldn’t see the message!)
I will update this thread with news on that bug fix when news is available. If there’s not update from me on this thread about it, there is no news—but if there is news, I’ll post here.
Sorry for the trouble here,

ParticipantHi Chris. To address this question:
In a case where my client updates their Google Calendar but they don’t visit the website (front end of admin) then when would the importer run?
To be clear, a “site visit” does not mean an admin has to visit the site. As long as anybody visits the site, it should trigger cron events in line with the scheduling details I’ve listed above in my earlier responses.
I hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Michael,
As noted above, the license will renew for one year from its expiration date. So if your license expires in February, add one year to the expiration date and that’s how long it will remain active for upon renewal.
If you have further questions, please open a new thread of your own.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for some of the elaboration here. Here is what I would recommend doing:
1. Access your site’s wp-content/plugins directory via FTP and delete any folders there that exist for Community Events. This will not erase event data.
2. Deactivate the “Frontend Submissions” plugin on your site.
3. Do a Manual Update of the latest version of Community Events; here are instructions on how to do this → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/
4. Activate the newly-installed copy of Community Events.
5. Please leave the “Frontend Submissions” plugin on your site deactivated.
☝️ With your site in this state, what specific issues arise on your site?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Kelly,
Thanks for reaching out!
Our plugins unfortunately don’t have any built-in CSV export functionality, so the best recommendations I can make would be to try and find a CSV export plugin for WordPress that would allow for exporting custom post types (like Events, Venues, and Organizers, which are all custom post types). While we don’t recommend any specific plugin, you should be able to find a good option if you search for csv export plugins at http://wordpress.org/plugins
Alternatively, you could try importing your XML export files into a spreadsheet application like Google Sheets, Excel, or Numbers. If you can import that data into one of these applications, and the data is structured accurately in the spreadsheet, you should then be able to export that spreadsheet from the application as a CSV file.
Now, for this step you’d have to Google a bit for specifics on how to import XML files, if that’s even possible for your spreadsheet application of choice — and it may take some tinkering to ensure the data is accurately imported and exported.
Just some ideas — I hope this helps!
Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

ParticipantThanks for reaching out, Alex. When it comes to your “try before I buy?” question, here is a Knowledgebase article covering the available options → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/do-you-have-a-demo-examples-i-can-see-or-trial-licenses/
The other main question of yours is this:
Does this then make our current plugins redundant – Eventbrite API / Keyring ?
We don’t make that plugin you’re referring to and so unfortunately cannot speak to much detail about exactly what it does or what needs it fills for your site. With this in mind, a few notes:
• If that plugin is meant to import from events from Eventbrite.com, then yes, having our own importer plugin would be a bit redundant.
• None of our plugins officially support that plugin, so you cannot, for example, use that plugin to import events from Eventbrite.com to The Events Calendar (without extensive custom coding, for example).
• If that plugin is interacting with the Eventbrite.com API, and you have it active alongside our own Eventbrite Tickets plugin, then this could cause a plugin conflict and API issues. We do not know of any such issues at this time, I am just mentioning it’s a possibility because they’d both be working with the Eventbrite.com API.I hope this information is useful! Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.
Sincerely,
GeorgeGeorge

ParticipantHi Noreen,
Thanks for reaching out!
When it comes to your nonprofit application, if you haven’t heard back I would encourage you to check your spam filter in your email inbox; we often reply within 24–48 hours, so when folks report not having heard back from us it is usually a matter of our reply email not making it to their inbox.
As for the specific event you describe:
An event coming up is a holiday house decorating whorkshop, 2 sessions on the same day. Once participant chooses the timeslot they wish to attend they must choose from 2 types of participation; member & non-member (with different prices points). To add an additional headache to the equation; once participant selects member or non-member they will have another choice in type of house they will be decorating (Gingerbread or Hanukkah)
Here is the best way to make this event:
• Make two separate events, one for the first session and one for the second session.
• On each event, make a ticket for each combination of time slot and member type. So, for example each of these things would be a ticket option that the user can buy:- $a — Time Slot 1, Member
- $b — Time Slot 1, Non-Member
- $c — Time Slot 2, Member
- $d — Time Slot 2, Non-Member
- $e — Time Slot 3, Member
- $f — Time Slot 3, Non-Member
• On each ticket, use the “Attendee Information” features of Event Tickets Plus so that each ticket has a choice of what type of house they’ll be decorating. You can read more about those features here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/
☝️ While this may seem complicated, it’s the most straightforward way of making an event with the tickets configurations necessary based on your description of things.
I hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Simon,
I’m sorry to hear that issues are persisting!
I am not recreating your issues, which I just want to mention again because that’s why this issue is taking some time to resolve. I appreciate your patience with me as we work on this together.
One of the things I’m curious about is if you can share your site’s system information in a new reply here on this thread; you shared the information originally back on November 2, earlier this month, when this thread started. Now here on November 22, things may be different to a meaningful degree. So to help me take another look under the hood, can you post your complete system information in a new reply here? Here is how to do so → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!
