Hi:
I just purchased and installed Event Aggregator, but it is not importing photos from Facebook. Is there a setting to enable this? In the legacy facebook import the photos imported just fine.
Here is an example: https://www.harpcolumn.com/events/
I imported the same event. (Katherine Siochi concert) twice. The first one uses Event Aggregator and the second uses the legacy Facebook import which shows the photo.
I’m a little frustrated bcause the only reason I upgraded to Event Aggregator is so that non-admin roles can post events through the dashboard. The legacy import option was not showing for editor role, only the event aggregator import option. (However the legacy import option does show for me as an admin.) Am I missing something obvious here with the photos?
Please help!

This is going to sound like a weird recommendation, but can you try temporarily deactivating Events Calendar Pro? Once deactivated, do some test imports from Facebook of events that have featured images; do the images get imported fine in this state with Events Calendar Pro deactivated?
☝️ Before doing that, please be sure to deactivate the legacy Facebook Importer plugin; in other words, don’t have both the legacy plugin and Event Aggregator running alongside each other—only one should be active at a time.
If my above recommendations don’t help, then in your reply can you please post your site’s complete, un-edited system information to help me investigate this more closely? Here’s how to do that → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thanks!

Unfortunately deactivating Events Calender Pro and the legacy plugin didn’t work. (Here’s an example: https://www.harpcolumn.com/event/london-ukha-christmas-party-2016/) I have shared system info through the “help” panel. The Events Calendar Pro is currently activated but I’ve left legacy deactivated for the time being.
Thanks!

The system information is unfortunately not posted here — apologies for the extra step here, but can you post it manually to this thread as per the steps here? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
As for the testing you’ve done, when you say you deactivated Events Calendar Pro, can you confirm that in this state you then did some imports of Facebook events with featured images and that it failed?
Thanks for your patience here!

Thanks for the details and the quick response. I’ve tested this again, and the same thing is happening. Here is an event imported with Event Calendar Pro deactivated:
Here is the event on Facebook:

Yes, I understand that we do have a lot of plugins running! Because of that, I’m sure you can understand why I do not want to go through the time consuming process to deactivate them to test this, given that that this is a known bug on your end. Also, it seems that that won’t solve the problem anyway, since it seems I would have to have to deactivate Event Calendar Pro to get this working, and then my sidebar widgets will not display, which is more important to me.
So just to reiterate, my frustration is that the legacy import works just fine for me as an admin, just not in the Author role. Event Aggregator does not work properly in either role.
So, that’s where I’m at. I’m willing to stick it out if you think this will be solved in the near future, otherwise any chance of a refund?
I do really appreciate your help and quick responses—thanks for that!

Annoyingly i’ve had to manually import these events because the scheduled import doesn’t work.
I’m absolutely livid with this weak plugin, the weak support and the weak fixes that break more than they solve!
