ParticipantHello,
We’re in the initial stages of launching a research effort that will involve analyzing data housed in our Events Calendar Pro plugin. I exported the XML events file using the WordPress export feature but I ran into a wall using online XML -> CSV conversion resources (tried many of these as per the recommendation from another forum post https://www.google.com/search?q=xml+to+csv+online&oq=xml+to+cs&aqs=chrome.3.0j69i57j0l4.7390j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8). I’m getting a parse error. What else may I try?
Thank you!
Kelly

ParticipantHi Kelly,
Thanks for reaching out!
Our plugins unfortunately don’t have any built-in CSV export functionality, so the best recommendations I can make would be to try and find a CSV export plugin for WordPress that would allow for exporting custom post types (like Events, Venues, and Organizers, which are all custom post types). While we don’t recommend any specific plugin, you should be able to find a good option if you search for csv export plugins at http://wordpress.org/plugins
Alternatively, you could try importing your XML export files into a spreadsheet application like Google Sheets, Excel, or Numbers. If you can import that data into one of these applications, and the data is structured accurately in the spreadsheet, you should then be able to export that spreadsheet from the application as a CSV file.
Now, for this step you’d have to Google a bit for specifics on how to import XML files, if that’s even possible for your spreadsheet application of choice — and it may take some tinkering to ensure the data is accurately imported and exported.
Just some ideas — I hope this helps!
Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.
