Good evening Danielle and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the Community Event page being broken on your site!
I would love to help you with this topic.

I took a quick look at your website using Google Chrome’s Developper tools’ inspector.
If you look at the Console more specifically, you will notice a handful of files missing in action for some reason.

One of the is the stylesheet for the Events Calendar.

My first recommendation would be to:

    1. Deactivate all the Events Calendar plugins temporarily
    2. Delete the Events Calendar plugin
    3. Reinstall and activate the Events Calendar
    4. Reactivate Community Events

If that still does no work, it looks like there might be some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1. A conflict with another plugin
    2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
    3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1. Make a backup of your database
    2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes.

Good afternoon Shanda and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the status wheel not stopping on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

By the looks of it, you have mixed-content on your site (both http AND https).
This can create several issues (including the one you are experiencing).

I would highly recommend installing, configuring and using the following plugin: wordpress.org/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good afternoon and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I need to charge money for some events. But I should charge per different age.

You will need the combination of the following plugins for this:

    1. Event Tickets: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
    2. Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

I want to add ‘Additional Fields’. I read dat ‘Additional Fields’ is only for pro version.

It depends on the type of additional fields you are looking for.

If you simply want to capture attendee info, then Event Tickets Plus will be sufficient.

If, on the other hand, you want to be able have additional fields as part of the Events related fields (event info), then yes, you will need a copy of our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/

And one more question: Can I make a small calendar on the right side of page?

Yes, this is possible thanks to the Events Calendar Pro’s advanced widgets (also available as shortcodes): https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/events-calendar-widgets/

I also need a filter bar.

We have the perfect add-on for you: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good afternoon Ernesto and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the PHP warnings creeping up on your website.
I would love to help you with this topic.

What is going on is that our plugin is unable to use certain directories for writing to its temp log file. This is most probably caused by either:

    1. A security plugin
    2. Your website’s files users and permissions setup.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

In the meantime, you should not worry about these messages as they will not prevent functionality. You could simply turn wp-debug off for the time being (in your wp-config.php file).

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good afternoon Kirill and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

It sounds like you have entered the license key for Pro in the spot reserved for Event Aggregator (one of our services).

Here is how to fix this:

    1. Completely remove all license keys from the Events -> Settings -> Licenses
    2. Make sure that both the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro are activated
    3. Go back to Events -> Settings -> Licenses look for the Events Calendar Pro’s license key placeholder and enter the key there

If that does not work for some reason.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme and child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

You might want to take a look at that.

Good afternoon Greg and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

To your point, we are alas limited to the level of support we can provide in our Pre-sales forum unfortunately.

For that reason, I would highly recommend asking your client for their the Events Calendar customer info.

With that in mind, it sounds like the theme you are using also has some custom Javascript being triggered (the black page) when clicking on the next month link. Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen (with a “maintenance” page plugin in place) to see if that changes anything.

You could also try different settings for Events Template under Events -> Settings -> Display.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have alas.

Hopefully we can take this further in the premium forums with you.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

I am glad you were able to get the help you needed.
The “Join” button and label are indeed specific to your theme, so the theme developer was absolutely the best person to ask.

Is there anything else I can help you with at the moment ?

Good afternoon Robin and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    Can someone call me?

Alas, at the time of writing we do not offer phone support.

With that in mind, I would be glad to help out in this forum.
Before we begin, I would recommend doing the 2 following things:

    1. Making sure you have installed our free the Events Calendar plugin
    2. Making sure you have downloaded and installed our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on

    Once that is done.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Secondly, I would highly recommend reading the following articles in great detail:

Good afternoon Marc and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Is there a way to hotlink directly to the woocommerce product page from the calendar page?

I am not exactly sure what you are looking to, but I do believe there a couple of options out there.

    You could:

    1. Customize any view (including adding links and content) using template overrides. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
    2. You could go through the following snippet: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/make-links-event-go-straight-event-website/

Let me know if that helps. Or perhaps expand a bit more on what you are trying to achieve.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

What is going on is that your WordPress theme is using some the Events Calendar customizations that are in need of an update.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme AND child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

    Good afternoon Tom,

Thanks so much for getting in touch!

I’m afraid that we’re not equipped to provide technical support for the Events Calendar users here in our pre-sales forum.

But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum and all our premium forums to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.

We’d be more than happy to assist you at one of the following locations:

With that in mind, normally our Calendar actually works better with pretty permalinks.
For that reason, I would recommend the following  before you reach out to us in one of the manners suggested above:

    1. Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if that helps
    2. Try changing the slugs for the Calendar under Events -> Settings -> General. Make sure you use a distinct one for the calendar and the single events

Finally, I am noticing that this issue mainly impacts recurring events for some reason. I could also be related to a plugin conflict. Either way, you might want to “Update” recurring events after switching to pretty permalinks.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening David and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Obviously, I do not want to recreate the event for each occasion.

The good news is that you don’t really have to.

You can use any plugin that can duplicate custom post types for that purpose. There is even one out there meant specifically for the Events Calendar: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/

can I create an event and then sell tickets to this event by individual date?

    Yes you can.

However, that might look a tad odd in a calendar and create confusion with your customers (based on our experience).

So I guess the preferred solution will depend if you do want to use the calendar to help visualizing this or if you are mostly interested in using Event Tickets Plus “standalone” (not in events, but in pages or posts).

Another avenue is using the Events Calendar Pro which offers a recurring events feature: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/

The only downside to that approach is that at the moment of writing, ALL events from the recurring series will show ALL tickets (for the other Wednesdays in your example).

You could mitigate this by using an “end sale date” on your tickets that matches each of those tickets actual “end date”. When using an “end sale date”, the ticket will no longer be visible on the front-end for purchase once that date is met.

So to summarize, it sounds like your best bets are:

    1. Create one event and duplicate it using a plugin. Once that is done, create tickets for each of these events
    2. Use the recurring events feature and create a bunch of tickets for the different dates (making sure you are using sale end dates)

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
