    Hey Ismail,

Thank you for the kind words.

I can totally understand where you are coming from with your strict policy to not edit php files and I can absolutely respect that.

That being said, in this specific case, provided you made a backup of the file in question (provided what the function of that file is AND the fact that this solution comes from one of our very top Developers), the risk is minimal.

Unfortunately, this is the only patch we can offer until a maintenance release (with this patch) is issued.
I’m glad that you have a workaround solution in the meantime.

Thank you once again for your understanding and we will contact you as soon as the new release is available.

    Best regards,

    Good afternoon Juan,

To answer your question, yes, our plugin uses Google geolocalisation API.

Thank you for trying out twenty-fifteen.

Let me know how that goes with your webhost.

    Best regards,

    Good afternoon Bo,

Thank you for getting back to us.
I did a quick test to verify if there was indeed a typo in our plugin, but could not find anything.

This one is a mystery to me too.
Perhaps reinstalling the FB importer from the latest version of our plugin might insure peace of mind moving forward ?

In any case, the important part is that you know how to fix it 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Antoine,

I invite you to keep an eye out for our newsletter, our blog or our twitter feed where we announce new features.
In the meantime, you can find the current extent of WPML compatibility here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/

Good evening John and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the tickets not showing in the front end after your latest WordPress upgrade.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)

That being said, I have a couple of suggestions/questions to get started towards resolution of this issue:

    • Event Rocket is unfortunately no longer supported since version 4.0 of our the Events Calendar plugin. I would recommend deactivating it.
    • Did you follow the complete procedure described in the following link to upgrade to Event Tickets Plus ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/
    • Would it be possible to provide us with an URL for investigation purposes ?

I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Best regards,

Good evening Punyaporn and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

There is currently no perfect solution for this. But it would be a nice feature to have.
In fact, you can suggest it or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

In the meantime, the closest solution to this would be to use the recurring event feature.
You can read all about it here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/

    In short, you would probably:

    1. Create recurring event (with a very thorough description that explains this is in fact the same event).
    2. Repeat the event every weekend until April 3rd
    3. Add exclusions for the unwanted dates OR delete the unwanted event dates manually

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Daniel,

Hmm, it sounds like you might have deleted too many of them (you probably deleted ALL deleted items instead of just the ones that were of interest to you).
Either that or there is some kind of issue with the link between existing events and what you deleted. In any case, I’m very sorry to hear that.

Out of curiosity, when you reimported the ics file, did you specify a start date ? And if so, which one ?

As per your question, if you did in fact follow my suggestion of doing a backup, here’s how I would handle it (the choice is really up to you):

    1. Restore the backed up DB and remove only the deleted events for the period that is of interest to you using a post revision plugin such as: https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-delete-revision/
    2. You could also run our duplicator cleanup plugin as an alternative of re-installing from the backup: https://slack-files.com/T0258N5TN-F028ZJ8UX-e7dc80d4e0
    3. Manually delete the duplicates.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Marcel and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the fact that you are still stuck with your string translation issues.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)

So I’ve tried to translate some Location entries in the different language (.po and .mo) files, but if I do so the ‘Events on this location’ (PRO version) widget isn’t working anymore.

Would you mind expanding a bit more on what happens exactly in the Pro widget ?

Furthermore, did you also change the translation for the po/mo files for Pro (each add-on has it’s own set of language files AND some of them might require updating from the sources or the POT file) ?

Is there a way (yes I’ve tried the plugin, but can’t figure out what to do with it, as I cannot find any string to use) to do this?

I am sorry to hear that, but as you might suspect, instructions on how to use a third-party plugin is unfortunately outside the scope of our support 🙁

Your plugin gives the option to set a name for the events (both events and single events), maybe you can create something like that for location? (and locations?)

That’s a great suggestion. In fact, you can suggest it or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

Or do I have to translate all different language files (I think they are in three different places)? Or will that affect the Widget mentioned above?

Yes, ideally if you change the translation in one spot, you should change the same string everywhere to avoid issues.

Back to your original thread, I do believe my awesome colleague Geoff asked some very good questions towards the end about how you used the snippet.

The reason I am mentioning this is because using the snippet would by far be the simplest option.
If you could expand on how you implemented that code in the functions.php file of your WordPress theme (or better yet share the code via Gist or Pastebin), I think we could probably find a way to make it work for you.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Linda and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the Google issue you have been experiencing.
I would love to help you with this topic.

But before I can do that, I just want to make sure I understand the issue correctly.

I went ahead and I did a Google search with the suggested string.
Unfortunately, I am not getting the 1 Feb 2016 result 🙁

That is probably “normal” considering that Google results will vary greatly from one physical location to the other.

But, that being said, I believe that the issue might be caused by the fact that the upcoming event at the top of the list actually starts on February 1st (Snowdrops at Kingston Lacy). Perhaps this is what is confusing Google ?

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)

If you are able to, I would also love a screenshot of the faulty Google results (via dropbox, Google Drive, etc..)

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Bo and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you could also provide me with the FB URL you are trying to import from, that would be great.

As for the message you are getting, this is “normal” behaviour. What is going on is that there is a built-in feature preventing users from importing duplicates.
The way this works is that even when an event is deleted by the user, there is still a trace of it in the DB, preventing additional imports.

This explains why you are getting the message “event already imported”.

To fix this, you can either:

    Hello again Alexander,

I went ahead and tested with the Russian language as per your suggestion.
The venue link and organizer links works on my end in Russian under the Twenty-Fifteen theme. So the good news is that it is possible.

I am pretty sure, there is an issue with your customization or with your existing venues.

So here are the next things I would suggest trying (testing the links at every step of the way). Of course, you need to remove your patch for this:

    1. Re-saving the permalinks
    2. Re-saving an existing venue or organizer that you are using
    3. Trying to create a new venue or organizer with a new event
    4. Look at your .htaccess file to see if there are any redirection rules in place (if so, please remove them)
    5. Trying a fresh WordPress install (perhaps locally) with only the Events Calendar plugins and a default WordPress theme

I know this is a lot of testing, but if all else fails, I am very curious to see what the result of the last test would be.

It is possible that your webhost might be one of the causes of this.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Rod,

I am sorry to hear this didn’t work as expected 🙁

As you might be aware, since this request qualifies as customization for now, the scope of our support for it is fairly limited.
So as much as we love to help, the best we can do in such cases is to get you started on the right track.

With that in mind, since the plugin route did not work as expected it looks like writing up a custom function or using template customization would be the way to go in your case.

If you are confortable with PHP, I would recommend my first link alongside the following one: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/filter_SSL
And, if you haven’t already, you might want to read our Themer’s guide.

If that is slightly out of your comfort zone, you can either make the User Voice proposal or hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
