    Good evening Dirk,

Thank you for confirming we are indeed talking about the same thing and for trying the testing procedures (including reverting back to a default WordPress theme).

I understand that you have had bad experiences with the report in the past, but on a clean install, this should now work.
This is why, if you are up for it (perhaps in a staging environment) it would be worth figuring out what the issue is.

The first thing I would recommend is to try to reinstall the latest version of the plugins (after a backup of course).

But, if you would prefer reverting back to an earlier version, I would totally understand.

The good news is that you can download previous versions of the free plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/

Let me know what you decide,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Douglas,

Sorry about the misunderstanding. My bad.

I was able to reproduce the issue you are talking about and this is a bug.
In fact, there was already an internal bug ticket for it.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted as soon as there is a resolution!

Our apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Eric,

    My bad.

You are right, you also need to hide the “Show all categories” link with the following CSS rules:

    #show_hidden_categories {display:none;}

These 2 pieces of CSS combined should give you exactly what you want 🙂

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hey Barbara,

Thank you for trying things out.
Your results absolutely indicate that there is something fishy at play.

To rephrase, perhaps I should have said “if you try this on a clean install, you should see a very different behaviour”.

In any case, this might be tricky to pinpoint considering the nature of the issues. So I absolutely appreciate your patience while we work on figuring out what the root cause is.

I think the next logical step would indeed be to reinstall the plugins.
Before you try anything, it is always recommended to do a complete backup (DB and plugins) of course (in case you need to revert back to it).

To ensure you are not losing anything, if you are confortable with the procedure I would recommend just overwriting the current files via FTP.

There is also something else I thought about. Since you are using Wordfence, is it possible you have the Cache option turned on ?

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Cindy and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry about the delay in response as most of our team is out on a yearly product retreat.
I would love to help you with this topic but it looks like you have already found a solution.

In case you are looking for a solution that would be upgrade resistant, I would recommend the following approach instead: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

@Lee We are sorry to hear you are experiencing a similar issue.

We are absolutely looking forward to helping you, but in order to do that and give you the proper advice, could you please open a separate thread using the following link: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/post/

As you might suspect, even when issues are similar, the actual cause can be quite different.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B

Good evening Dirk and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you have been experiencing with the sales reports.
It certainly was not intentional on our end to have this issue come back. All apologies.

I would love to try to help you with this topic.

With that in mind I went ahead and tried to replicate the issue but was not able to.
Could you please tell me exactly where you are clicking to trigger the error message (I’m using the “Sales” button on the front-end)?

Could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out ?

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Rob and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with these topics.

I can’t find anywhere how I can create a page for “registration”. I know I can send users to: /events/community/add/ to create an event, which in turns asks them to sign-in or register… but is there no “registration” page / shortcode / something?

User registration is actually a built-in WordPress feature (that can be activated or not).

For more information on this topic, you could take a look at the following post: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-allow-user-registration-on-your-wordpress-site/

And after a registration, or during a failed login, it redirects to the normal wordpress login area.
I just want a simple page where people can register, login, add an event… I’m lost as how to do this.

That is indeed normal WordPress behaviour. If you want something that’s a little more user friendly, I would recommend using a plugin such as theme my login: https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/

Also, I did create an account but didn’t receive any confirmation email. I’m sure that’s just an issue with our temp dev server, but I can’t login using the credential for the user I just registered. Why can’t I log in?

It’s hard to say for sure. I believe you are on the right track for the DEV server.

As for creating a new user, could you tell me how you did that ? (through the backend in the Users menu ?)

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Mike and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the iCal importer going way overboard with it’s import!
I would love to try to help you with this topic.

I am unsure exactly why this is happening in your case, but I would be very interested in replicating it in order to find the cause.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)

Also, if you don’t mind, could you share with me the iCal URL you are trying to import from ?

    Best regards,

Good evening Chris and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to try to help you with this topic.

Before we start, just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our wonderful customers started on the right track to customize their site and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

The article Nico wrote on this topic is pretty much the best approach to things and the best starting point. Did you  read our Themer’s guide as suggested in that thread ? If you don’t mind could you expand a bit on what you mean by “I have not been able to get the desired result?”.

    Alternatively, you could:

    1. Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you
    2. Suggest this feature or cast your vote on other features in our User Voice forum.

in reply to: Ticket email & Compatibility with WPML #1086541

Good evening Joss and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with the Tickets.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    1) So after creating a ticket then hitting save nothing happens when the plugin WPML multilingual cms is activated. Is there anyway of fixing that?

I am afraid I have some bad news. For now unfortunately, Events Tickets and Events Tickets Plus are not compatible with WPML.

Only the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro are currently supported.

We do not have a workaround available, but it seems like the main issue is that tickets are not added to the icl_translations DB table upon creation, which means that they “don’t exist” as far as WPML can tell.

    2) I’m using event tickets plus in union with woocommerce. After finishing an order I get the new order from woocommerce but the tickets never arrive in a separate email. How can I fix this?

The tickets are typically sent only when the order status is set to “Completed”. Would you mind giving that a try ?

    Good evening yet again Karly,

I want to thank you once again for being so diligent on reporting everything.
In an ideal world, although we enjoy your feedback, this would happen less often as I’m pretty sure you have tons of other wonderful things to do.

I do not Avada available, but I will have to take your word for it and report it to Dev.
Out of curiosity (and to be able to provide better support) are all your threads about a single client or different ones ?

The reason I am asking is because of the lack of system information (as discussed previously) in the current thread.

Could you also confirm if the patch you previously came up with on January 6th still fixes the issue on 4.07 ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Douglas or Glenn and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delay.
As you might have seen on our website, most of the team is away on a product retreat for the week, leaving only a handful of us to tackle support tasks.

In other words, we are absolutely paying attention and we are tackling our customers threads as fast as we can.
You’ll be glad to know that the team should resume to it’s normal size by the next 2 days.

I would love to help you with this topic.

You are making a great point about the event organizer.
You are 100% right, if somebody does not pay attention, they can totally submit an event without an organizer.

By design, as you know, you could add a default organizer. But I am pretty sure, in your specific case, what you would be looking for is to make the organizer field a required/mandatory field.

The good news is that through customization, you can absolutely tweak what the required fields are.

You might want to read our Themer’s guide (if you haven’t already) to get a general sense of how that works.

Other than that, you could get started on the right track by reading the following knowledge base article on that very topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/required-fields-for-events-submission-form/

One disclaimer though, the knowledge base article has been flagged as requiring an update (which should be addressed over the next couple of weeks). So at best, it should only serve as a starting point for now.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hi again Karly,

You are 100% right, I was able to reproduce the problem.

It turns out the status of the bug in question is “pending smoketest”.
So it looks like the glitch is in our release’s communication :-s

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.

We apologize for the inconvenience and the good news is that it should be out soon!
    Stay tuned.

    Best regards,

Good evening Eric and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the deprecated function preventing you from showing the number of categories you want.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I don’t know if that would help, but you could actually get rid of the number of categories limitation by simply using CSS

    #tribe-community-events #event-categories ul li.hidden_category {
    display: block !important;
    }

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Karly and welcome back!

I am sorry to hear this one is creeping back for you.

So I went ahead and tried to reproduce this on my installations with the latest versions of the plugins.

The good news is that it should be working. So let’s focus on making it work for you.

If you don’t mind, could you please provide us with your system information once again in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)

Other than that, I would recommend trying to reinstall the latest version of the plugins AND re-saving the permalinks to cover all bases.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
