MemberGood evening Samarpan and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. You are absolutely right, that would be a great improvement to prioritize the wp-content/languages/plugins first.
In fact, I will make sure this gets logged properly as a recommendation. In the meantime, have you tried simply deleting the version found in the plugin directory wp-content/plugins/[youreventcalendarplugin]/lang for your language only ?
Normally, that should ensure the version found in the wp-content/languages/plugins for your language will be used.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Lang,
Kudos on choosing WPML. A little tweaking and you should be good to go.
Take a read at the following post and let me know how that goes: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/date-formatting-issue/

MemberThank you for the info Kristi,
Can you tell me if your community events submission for is found at http://www.thinkhopkins.com/events/submit/index.php ?
The reason I am asking is because this looks like a template customization (which might require an update to be fully compatible with the versions of the plugins you are using).
With that in mind, to troubleshoot further, could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out ?
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is: often times a plugin or a theme conflict.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Karly,
Thank you for sharing the complete code.
I will ask for a quick Dev glance at it to be 100% sure. But it looks like it might be a matter of where syntax in the code.
Thank you for sticking with me through this.

It would also be great if you could provide me with a screenshot of your timezone settings for both WordPress and the Events Calendar (found under Events -> Settings)
Finally, could you tell me what are the steps you are following to import the ics file in Outlook ?

MemberGood evening Beth and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the messed up layout after the update. Yikes! Our most sincere apologies.
I would love to help you with this topic.I just went ahead and took a look at your website. All the elements seem to be in place.
Just to be sure of what the display issue is (since I don’t know what it looked like before), could you please expand on what is different than what you saw prior to the update ?In the meantime, could you please try the different settings found at Events -> Settings -> Display -> Default stylesheet used for events templates and tell me if that changes anything ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberHey Dave,
Wow! I’m so sorry to hear that.
Before closing the thread, I would like to try something.
Although I can’t promise you anything, I would really like to be able to reward your perseverance on this.Stay tuned, more on that tomorrow!

MemberGood afternoon Anthony and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us and for sharing your system information.
We are sorry to hear about the issues you have been dealing with while using our iCal importer plugin.
I would love to help you with this topic.1. The times of a few events are shifted by a few hours (See “CRAVE Speaker & Games Night” moved from Friday evening on the Google screenshot to Saturday evening on the Events Calendar screenshot and site)
Could you share with me (in a private reply) what your settings are for WordPress timezone as well as for the Events Calendar (as found in Events -> Settings) ?
The reason I’m asking is because I just went ahead and tried to import the faulty event on my own calendar successfully (with not time shift).
2. Also, “Busy” will show up as an event randomly.
That’s definitely no good. Could you give me a specific example of such an occurence (so that I can try to reproduce the issue) ?
Finally, something worth trying would be to upgrade your plugins (after a backup of your Database) to the following versions (and not the last one):
- the events calendar pro version 4.0.7
- the events calendar version 4.0.7
- the events calendar: ical importer version 4.0.4
You’ll find the past versions for our premium plugins in the download section of your account in this site (https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/) and you’ll find the core plugin (The Events Calendar) past versions here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Jo and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the recurrence rule issue you have been struggling with.
I would love to help you with this topic.Would you mind sharing with me a screenshot of the recurring rules for that faulty event (in a private reply)?
That way I’ll be able to try to reproduce the issue and make sure your events display properly as soon as possible 🙂

MemberGood evening Kelly and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the event categories disappearing from your community add form.
I would love to help you with this topic.I just went ahead and noticed that for some odd reason, there is a tribe-hide CSS class on that specific element of your form.
In any case, the quickest solution is probably to just add the following CSS rule to your WordPress theme
#tribe-community-events #event-categories {
display: block;
}Let me know how that goes.

MemberThank you for the reply and the system info Jimmy,
I am noticing a couple of things which might help:
- You have a couple of Javascript errors on you events page (is it possible you have the debug mode on ?)
- I believe you are using some template customization on your calendar view that might need some updating to work properly. Could you confirm that there is a /tribe-events/ folder in your WordPress theme ?
Ideally, could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation (theme and plugins) to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Finally, if you don’t mind, could please share with me your timezone settings both for WordPress and the ones found at Events -> Settings ?
Have a great day!

MemberGood afternoon Joachim,
Thank you for the answer, for clarifying things and for the system info.
I am very sorry about the issue you put in bold. I am taking this very seriously and would very much like to fix this as much as you do.
What I was saying is that I am currently unable to reproduce this on my end, so I was wondering:
Where I believe our process might be different is the type of payment gateway you might have used for testing. Could you let me know what that was ?
But since time is of the essence perhaps for now you can downgrade the plugins to version 4.0.7 ?
You’ll find the past versions for our premium plugins in the download section of your account in this site (https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/) and you’ll find the core plugin (The Events Calendar) past versions here:https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/.
This should buy us some time to figure things out.
Once again we are terribly sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused so far.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberHey Matt,
Thank you for your answer.
The message in question appears at the top of the page next to the Attendees title (and could be easy to miss).
Just to be extra sure, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)
Have a great day!

MemberHey Paul,
Thanks for your answer.
I think we are both saying the same thing but with different angles on it. We are both looking forward to this working for you (as opposed to being broken) 🙂
What you are describing is true: things stopped working properly after the 4.1 update for you.
That being said, there could be a few different reasons for that (finding what the cause is will help us fix it):
- There is a bug in 4.1 , That is very possible since we unfortunately had several issues with that last update (we are working on fixing them as fast as possible).
- Version 4.1 breaks the customizations you have made (which doesn’t seem to be the case because switching to twenty fifteen would remove them temporarily). As a side note, any new version of our plugin might mean that you need to update customizations accordingly.
- Version 4.1 has a compatibility issue with one of your other plugins installed. Which you can verify by going through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out. Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Either way, the draft status in the HTML of the week view is very strange. Ideally if you could go through the testing for conflicts procedure it would be super awesome.
But for now you can downgrade the plugins to version 4.0.7. You’ll find the past versions for our premium plugins in the download section of your account in this site (https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/) and you’ll find the core plugin (The Events Calendar) past versions here:https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/.
