ParticipantI love the option of 2 recurrence rules!
It’s working well with one exception. The first day shows only one of the two instances. All other days show both instances.
The Event is a Small Group Study April 7-May 26, on the page http://firstchurchfremont.org/events/2016-04/. I used 2 custom settings to set it up.
This is probably just a small bug. If there’s not an obvious fix, I’ll just add a single event for the missing entry.
Thanks for your help!

ParticipantOops – Just noticed that the full page event shows the wrong time on the second event.
So, there are two classes on the same day.
The 10:30 link shows May 5 @10:30 am – 12 pm for the detail page header.
The 7:30 pm class link also shows May 5 @ 10:30 am – 12 pm for the detail page header. The time and date are correct on the mouseover popup.March 16, 2016 at 5:50 pm #1090088Jo
ParticipantMy apologies – the second issue was solved in the last update. I had forgotten to do that update. Thanks! You guys are great.
The initial issue is still there.

MemberGood evening Jo and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the recurrence rule issue you have been struggling with.
I would love to help you with this topic.Would you mind sharing with me a screenshot of the recurring rules for that faulty event (in a private reply)?
That way I’ll be able to try to reproduce the issue and make sure your events display properly as soon as possible 🙂
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Jo,
Thank you for your answer.
The best way to share images such as screenshots is through a link to some type of virtual drive (Dropbox, Google Drive, Cloudup, Screencast, etc..). Unfortunately, we do not provide support over email.
Additionally, can you tell me if these events were created manually or imported from another source ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Let’s try this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o4v2nq4v05no0gs/Calendar%20issue.JPG?dl=0
This is a manually created event, using two different times in the same event entry.
Thanks,

MemberGood evening Jo,
Thank you so much for the screenshot.
I realize I might have miscommunicated what screenshot I was looking for. I apologize for that.
Could you send a screenshot of the details of that manually created event (more specifically the precise recurrence rules you are using).
It should look something like: https://theeventscalendar.com/content/uploads/2013/02/14-PRO-Add-New-Event-cropped.png
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Jo,
Thank you for sharing the screenshot of your settings. That helps me to better understand what’s going on.
The good news is that this is not actually a bug per se, which mean you can totally get it to work you expect it to.
In fact, if you haven’t already done so, here’s an awesome guide about recurring events: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/
But back to your specific event issue for a second. What’s going is that the first event is following the recurrence rules to the letter.
Specifically, the system understands the following: Repeat Small Group Study from April 7th at 10:30 every week once at 10:30 pm and once at 7:30 pm, which it does.
The issue is that it only starts the following week, hence the display you are seeing. My recommendation would be to do the following:
- Keep the initial event, but remove the second recurrence rule (the one that starts at 7:30 pm) and update the event.
- Create a new event with the exact same title that starts on April 7th at 7:30pm and that repeats every week.
This way you should be able to get the events to display exactly like you want them to.
Let me know how that goes.
Happy easter,
