Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the issues you have faced while trying to update the plugin.
I would love to help you with this topic.First of all, I am noticing that you have several plugins that you have a license for. Could you tell me which of these you are trying to update ? (The free Events Calendar ? Pro ? Community Events ?)
Secondly, a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Hang in there as we work on fixing this with you.

We are sorry to hear about the fact that a login seems to be required for your customers to be able to buy tickets.
I would love to help you with this topic.
As a first troubleshooting step, even though you already sent valuable system info, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Secondly, I believe you might want to check if the following option is checked:
Under WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout look for the “Enable guest checkout” checkbox
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Marcy,
Thank you for writing back and yes, I totally understand what you are trying to do.
At this point, if you want to accomplish this via recurring events, the only built-in “solution” would be to use the “edit single” option (when you hover over the events list in the admin dashboard). Even though this will let you change the venue of specific events, the downside is that it breaks these events from the series.
In other words, the edited events will no longer show up when you click on “showing all recurrences”.
But I can totally see how that would be a great feature to have. In fact, I encourage you to vote for and comment the following feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4214149-one-event-with-multiple-venues or better yet, suggest that feature specifically for recurring events.
If the reason you are using recurring events is mainly to save time, then you might consider the following plugin as a different approach to save time: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

Unfortunately, we are still working hand-in-hand with the good folks at WPML on many WPML improvements and fixes, including support for recurring events.
As much as I hate being the bearer of bad news, this is unlikely to get released before the end of the summer from the looks of it. As an avid WPML user myself, I can’t wait.
With that in mind, there is a manual workaround possible. But, I have a few disclaimers to make about it:
- The “see all recurring events” link will not work even after you apply the workaround
- It involves manually assigning languages to each recurring event posts directly in the Database (via phpMyAdmin)
- You need to be fully comfortable with backing up your database and recovering it
Let me know if you would like me to walk you through that very imperfect workaround ?

Just wondering if there is a way to remove past events products easily from woocommerce or is this a manual removal.
The short answer is that I believe you can improve on the current manual removal process.
It’s hard to suggest a specific method because I am not sure how the current website is set up. But here are a few ideas to expedite the process:
- Use Product Categories or Tags (if not displayed elsewhere) to enable bulk actions such as bulk deletion.
For example, you could use a tag such as “July” on all products that are for events in July. - Use a third-party plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-manager-for-wp-e-commerce/ (there are many out there) to be able to have a bit more control over product search and sorting
Let me know if that helps.

I’ve got an event that’s held at multiple venues – each on it’s own date.
How do I enter a different venue with each date for the event? That is a great question.
To be able to help you better, I need to ask you a couple of questions about that event:- Are you using the recurring event functionality to create that event ?
- Could you give me the breakdown of how that event might look over a couple of dates in different venues ?

How can we add a weekly reccurence to an event by id ? We have an API and we want to make a call to add specific reccurence (daily/weekly) to an event by its ID. How can we handle it ?
Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.
We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization. With that in mind, the best way to get started is to look at what is going on at the user interface AND database levels when you create a recurring event.
You will notice that:
- Recurring Events are actually separate posts in the database (each with it’s own wp_postmeta)
- When an event is a recurring one, it has an additional row in wp_postmeta with the following format
_EventRecurrencea:3:{s:5:”rules”;a:1:{i:0;a:6:{s:4:”type”;s:10:”Every Week”;s:8:”end-type”;s:2:”On”;s:3:”end”;s:10:”2016-07-27″;s:9:”end-count”;s:0:””;s:14:”EventStartDate”;s:19:”2016-07-06 08:00:00″;s:12:”EventEndDate”;s:19:”2016-07-06 17:00:00″;}}s:10:”exclusions”;a:0:{}s:11:”description”;N;}
In other words, simply appending data to an existing event will probably not be enough. You need to find a way to actually create the recurring events AND add the _EventRecurrence Meta with the proper content and format.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

I am sorry to hear about the stock count issues you have been dealing with. This is certainly unintended on our end.
I would love to help you with that. When we promote an event that has X spaces on it and people book and pay for their ticket the total on the front end decreases which is correct.
When we have to manually cancel and refund a ticket (functionality which is still broken) the quantity on the front end does not increase automatically thus potentially robbing us of a place that is now free and could be sold again.I absolutely understand what you are saying. Normally under most circumstances the amount of tickets shown should reflect the actual number of places left.
Could you share with me (in a private reply) the exact procedure you are currently using when refunding.
Could you also please provide us with your complete system information using the instructions found in the following link?

This way I’ll be able to provide advice tailored to your situation.

MemberGood evening Tommy,
Thank you for the files.
I took a look at them and based on what I have observed, they still contain plenty of apostrophes (‘).
The issue is that single quotation marks are also used as a separator in CSV files. As you can imagine, on a computer screen apostrophes and single quotation marks will look identical.
For that reason, you will want every field containing them to be contained in quotation marks.
E.g.: HUMPHREY’S (SEE AD PG.) should read “HUMPHREY’S (SEE AD PG.)”
This is a good practice to suggest to your client for smoother imports.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Matt,
Thank you for writing back.
So, when looking at the ‘function.php’ in my theme, I am greeted with this message:
Hi,there!
I must emphasize a point that please refrain from editing this file,
or you cannot smooth update in the future. This is a fair warning. What it means is that if you update your theme in the future, you will lose all changes (like adding the snippet for auto-complete) you have made in your theme’s functions.php
The good news is that you can workaround that limitation by creating a child-theme. I suggest reading the following on that very topic: https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/resources/wordpress-child-theme-tutorial
That prevent the snippet from being deleted upon a theme update.
But in your case, it looks like your theme is giving you even simpler advice: create/edit a file name custom-functions.php and place it in the includes folder of your theme.
As a side note, just like when editing anything, we always recommend having a backup of the files you are editing AND a way to revert to the previous version of that file if necessary.
Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Jon,
Thank you for getting back to me and for preparing to send the files over.
In the meantime, I believe you might have to consider getting a Google Map API key.
I would recommend reading the following article on this: http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.ca/2016/06/building-for-scale-updates-to-google.htmlIn case you decide to go ahead with the API key, the following Knowledge base article might prove to be helpful: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key

MemberGood evening Shelley,
As promised, I followed-up with Dev to get an explanation on why you require 2 URLs in your API for the Maps to display properly.
According to the person who wrote the knowledge base article ( https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/ which was updated following your great insight), the changes made at Google’s level on June 22nd regarding API authorization is less permissive than before.
In short, and I believe this would be a good question for the good folks at Google, the wildcard alone URL no longer passes that authorization test, it has to be combined with a specific URL.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with on this topic.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
