ParticipantI’ve got an event that’s held at multiple venues – each on it’s own date.
How do I enter a different venue with each date for the event?
Thanks!

MemberGood evening Marcy and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.
I’ve got an event that’s held at multiple venues – each on it’s own date.
How do I enter a different venue with each date for the event? That is a great question.
To be able to help you better, I need to ask you a couple of questions about that event:- Are you using the recurring event functionality to create that event ?
- Could you give me the breakdown of how that event might look over a couple of dates in different venues ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantThanks for such a quick response!
I am using the Recurring Event functionality.
We have workshops that take place at multiple times throughout the year (e.g., Nov 3 and March 7) – each one at a different location.
We want to display our list of workshops that includes, in the list, the dates and locations.
For example:
Workshop A
8/15/2016 – Boston, MA
11/1/2016 – New York, NYWorkshop B
9/12/16 – Somewhere, CT
1/15/17 – Boston, MA
3/12/17 – New York, NYWorkshop C
…Does that make sense?

MemberGood evening Marcy,
Thank you for writing back and yes, I totally understand what you are trying to do.
At this point, if you want to accomplish this via recurring events, the only built-in “solution” would be to use the “edit single” option (when you hover over the events list in the admin dashboard). Even though this will let you change the venue of specific events, the downside is that it breaks these events from the series.
In other words, the edited events will no longer show up when you click on “showing all recurrences”.
But I can totally see how that would be a great feature to have. In fact, I encourage you to vote for and comment the following feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4214149-one-event-with-multiple-venues or better yet, suggest that feature specifically for recurring events.
If the reason you are using recurring events is mainly to save time, then you might consider the following plugin as a different approach to save time: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
Geoff B.
