    Good evening Sabra,

Thank you for writing back and providing all of the extra information and for your fantastic words.

In the Payment History I now see the payments I made yesterday. Is it possible that they might have appeared there with a delay? I am almost (but not absolutely) certain that I looked at this page yesterday and saw only the single completed payment with “Abgeschlossen” written next to it

I am super stocked to hear that you are now seeing the payments.
To the best of my knowledge, there should not be a delay in the payments showing on that screen.

I would definitely recommend keeping an eye out for that moving forward, just in case.
Please report anything suspicious you might bump across.

I am still trying to understand whether I need to add any of EDD’s shortcodes manually anywhere or not.

Normally, you should not have to add EDD shortcodes anywhere (unless you have a very specific need).
EDD is fully integrated with our plugin.

That means that as long as you create your tickets within an Event, the EDD tickets will appear automatically.

Up to now I only received two emails on the completed payment and only when I manually completed it. One was a confirmation of the order with links to the tickets and one was a mail with the tickets themselves. How many mails should one normally receive? I will try to install the plugin you recommended and let you know how that goes.

Normally, 3 emails are sent out per successful purchase:

    1. A “New Download purchase” email to the WordPress admin
    2. A “Purchase Receipt” to the customer
    3. A “Tickets” email to the customer

When I pay for a ticket I am taken to paypal and everything works fine. Then I am returned to my own site where I see a screen confirming my order. However, I receive no email confirmation. When the order is marked as completed, 2 mails are sent out.

This reflects the normal behaviour. No email is sent until the order is marked Completed.

Also, I am having trouble with the global stock option. When I have pending orders they are not deducted from the global amount so it is possible to oversell…

That is a good point. For all sorts of reasons, that behaviour is also normal.

As you can guess, some users prefer to approve transactions prior to confirming purchases.

With that in mind, I am pretty sure there is a way to have orders turn to Completed automatically after the payment has been approved. In fact, it turns out it should be the default behaviour: http://docs.easydigitaldownloads.com/article/190-payments-not-marked-as-complete

I am mostly glad this now seems to be solved for you!

I need to set up a family ticket for two adults and two children. Is this possible with Events Tickets Plus and EDD

The short answer is yes. You mostly have 2 ways to go about this:

    1. Create a special ticket type for that very purpose. In other words, even though you are selling only 1 ticket, it is actually meant for 4 people (2 adults, 2 children). The downside is that this won’t work well with your Global stock option
    2. Use a plugin such as https://easydigitaldownloads.com/downloads/discounts-pro/ will allow  your customers to buy the tickets individually and get the discount of your choice.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Mathew and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

To do a better job at that, would it be possible to share an URL where you would want the event title to change colour?

The typical CSS elements to target are:

    • .tribe-events-list h2.tribe-events-list-event-title a
    • .single-tribe_events .tribe-events-single-event-title
    • .tribe-events-calendar div[id*=tribe-events-event-] h3.tribe-events-month-event-title a
    • #tribe-events-content.tribe-events-photo #tribe-events-photo-events h2 a

Let me know if that helps.

Good evening Joshua and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the error messages and inconvenience you are experiencing.
I would love to help you with this topic.

If I understand correctly, you have identified a theme conflict with our plugins.
In other words, once you revert to twenty-fourteen, the issue is gone.

    Can you confirm ?

If that is true, could you please send me a copy of your conflictual WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates you might have made.

If not, could you at least tell me which theme and which version of that theme you are using ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Sabatha,

As promised, I asked specific questions about WooTickets versus Event Tickets Plus in regards to the WooCommerce Email control.
This was done as part of our weekly team meeting.

‘Woocommerce – Settings – Emails’ were in order (to be specific, the ‘Tickets’ field at the bottom) had all it’s relevant fields in place and didnt show up as a blank space where either the ‘customer’ or ‘admin email’ should be displaying.

Our product director confirmed that there should have been no loss of functionality in the plugin itself while moving from WooTickets to Event Tickets Plus. In fact, the WooCommerce portion of Event Tickets Plus was built straight on the code of WooTickets.

To be extra sure, a colleague tested an install with the latest version of WooTickets available.
The options available to configure WooCommerce emails in regards to the tickets are exactly the same unfortunately.
They have not changed on our end.

I believe it is possible that there might have been some template customization on your install. At least, it’s the only logical explanation that I can think of.

In any case, I am quite certain we can address the automatic email issue.
With that in mind my earlier offer and questions are still valid.

If you also wish to tweak something in the actual email template, I would gladly assist you in doing just that.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Steph,

    Thank you for writing back.

I’m still not too hapy about The Events Calendar
I was hopping for a smoother intergration to my site, even though it uses an other theme (does any wp blog use the standard theme, with no modifications??)

Thank you for sharing this. I am sorry to hear that the Events Calendar failed to meet your expectations on your site.
I totally understand where you are coming from.

You’ll be glad to know that we do try to make our plugins work as nicely as possible with all themes that follow WordPress best practices.

That being said, with the sheer amount of themes out there, sometimes integration is not as smooth as we would like it to be.

As a side technical note, our plugin tends to use the archive.php template of WordPress when there is one.
Depending on how the archive pages are handled in some themes, this means that sometimes a few tweaks are unfortunately in order so that things work nicely together.

But I do have some good news that might help with the integration to your theme while providing you more flexibility.

In the upcoming 4.3 release (in a few weeks), we are going to provide full calendar shortcodes for the Events Calendar Pro owners.

This means that you will be able to simply paste a shortcode in a regular page which should take care of any undesired layout issues.

I still see content bellow the footer on some of the pages, for example:
    http://www.rookieraceline.com/events/community/add

Sorry about that oversight. It should be fixed.

Also, could you direct me to a programmer that could deactivate/hide some of the form fields for filling out events, and adding timezone support on the front end?

Absolutely. You can hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customizations for you.

In regards to removing form fields to fill out your events, you could simply do a template customization.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

The other option is to mask the unwanted fields via CSS.

Finally, you can control which fields are mandatory via the following snippet: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/required-fields-for-events-submission-form/

But he says that the changes won’t hold, if there is an update to the plug in.

Actually, we have built our plugin with customization in mind. The changes will hold as long as he follows the guidelines established in the themer’s guide.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon kommdire,

    Thank you for writing back.
I apologize if I caused more confusion with my previous reply. That certainly was not my intention.

Let me try to clarify what I meant.

We are truly sorry for the theme conflict you are experiencing. We absolutely wish this was not the case.

With that in mind, as you might guess, with the thousands of WordPress themes out there we can only guarantee that our free plugin will work with a default WordPress theme and a vanilla installation.

That being said, we always keep an ear to the ground and try to solve issues whenever we can.

The proper place to get support for our free plugin is here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar%C2%A0?
The forum you are currently using is actually reserved for pre-sales questions.

That being said, it is very likely that the person that is best qualified to solve this specific conflict would be the theme author. In fact we are always interested in collaborating with these guys whenever we get a chance.

As for my other comment about purchasing a premium add-on license, I did mean that you need to buy the plugin to solve your issue. But rather that having a premium license also provides you with Premium support.

To wrap this up, I can’t promise you anything, but if you send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) I could run some quick tests on my end to see if there is not something obvious.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Vera,

    Thank you for writing back.

You can paste that code in your theme’s custom CSS section or style.css file.

If that seems a bit outside of your comfort zone, I would recommend trying the following plugin which lets you do that easily: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

Let me know if that helps.

Good evening Mitch and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the page not found creeping up on your website. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Secondly, I would highly recommend re-saving your permalinks to see if that helps.

Finally, could you send me a screenshot of your settings under Events -> Settings -> General ?

    Best regards,

    Good evening Avinash,

The long wait is finally over.
Here is a snippet that works: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/adfeedbc908640ba7bbf584e6622b406

As per my colleague Brook’s instructions, this still needs to go in: [your-theme]/tribe-events/community-tickets/modules/tickets.php

Let me know how that goes and thank you for sticking with us.

Good evening Kalle and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    These are great questions.
To make a long story short, we are in the process of increasing compatibility with multilingual plugins in General.

But, officially, for now, we only truly support WPML as multilingual solution.
Moreover, only for our Free plugin and for the Events Calendar Pro.

We are looking at expanding this support to the full range of our plugins over the next year.

So the simple answer is no, we cannot confirm that Community Events is translatable with QTranslateX or any multi-language plugin for now. But all of our plugins are technically translatable.

That being said, I know that some of our users have achieved surprisingly good results with Polylang, including for Community Events.
The downside is that this is unsupported by us for the moment.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Barry,

I am just following up on this to let you know that a bug ticket has indeed been opened.

In the meantime, I have 2 extra workarounds for you:

    1. Create a blank file at [some-theme]/tribe-events/tickets/orders-link.php
    2. Use the following snippet in your theme’s functions.php https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/303a051428692899e3ed6eb6cabd7cd0

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for the bugfix at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when fix is released.

    Good evening Sheldon,

    Thank you for writing back.

Before we continue, just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

With that in mind, you are not out of options. You can:

    1. Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
    2. Read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how the different parts of our plugins live.
    3. Take a look at our different functions here: https://theeventscalendar.com/functions/

Another idea that might meet all of your accounting / bookkeeping requirement is to combine reports in Excel (using a Macro). You could then combine:

    1. WooCommerce’s built-in CSV reporting (or use one of the many advanced WooCommerce reporting plugins out there)
    2. Our own built-in Sales and Attendees reports: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
