Good evening Earle and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about Event Archives displaying as a title on your website.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Your specific issue sometimes happens with certain themes (depending  on how they are built).

The first thing I would recommend is to head over to Events -> Settings -> Display and try different settings for Events Template (see if that helps).

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Good evening Fadi,

    Thank you for writing back.

I see what you mean. The issue with your code is that simply using a value such as ‘T’ or ‘S’ will not work for your conditionals because many days share that same value.

For your purpose, you are missing a step to either get specific values based on position in the array or some kind of bypass/customization of that array.

Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

If you are stuck, you might want to hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Jacob and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You are right having the ability to add some logic and conditions to the fields displayed would be an awesome feature. In fact it was already suggested here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4258945-gravity-forms-integration

Unfortunately, this feature request was missing some clarification which resulted in the status going to “declined” (until somebody picks it up again and provides the requested details).

Unfortunately, aside from that, there is little to go on for now.

I know some themes out there are doing a template override to achieve similar ideas (e.g.: the eventica theme which uses a form to populate bookings).

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

If programming is not your thing, you  might want to hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Rob and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I am guessing you are controlling categories using shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

Our advanced widgets would normally offer you the ability to choose between  Match all and Match any, but our shortcodes do not allow that.

The only downside is that we currently have a bug impacting the Event category filters in our widgets 🙁

But a fix is on the way! Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.

Other than that, I guess you would have to create custom filters in the meantime (a bit like the following user did: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/display-only-children-categories-of-a-specific-parent-in-a-custom-filter )

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Hang in there as we fix this bug.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Sally,

    Thank you for the files.

I tried to replicate your exact issue with your theme installed.
Unfortunately, no matter what I did, I was not able to get the “Recurring:” section happening in the event meta.

It does look like this is a customization since the recurrence rules do not display in the event meta by default.

Is it possible that there is a discrepancy between the files you have sent me and the ones found on your server ?

    Have a great day!

    Hey Matt,

Thank you for the Uservoice request. Hopefully that will gain some traction!

The good news is you are entitled to a refund as long as you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best of luck,
    Geoff B.

    Dear Shannon,

Thank you for providing me with some extra information.

That is odd to say the least. I am mostly sorry this is not working for you right now.
There are still 2 solutions I would recommend:

    1. Use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-css/ and paste your CSS rule there
    2. Use a template override where you hardcode the style until the issue is fixed. You can use the following file in yourtheme/tribe-events/pro/widgets/modules/ single-event

If that still does not work, I would ask that you please open a separate thread so that we can deep digger into this without sending notifications to Dietmar every step of the way 🙂

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Bonjour Patrick,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Monique,

You are right, using my files would result in losing your hard work.

    These are great questions.

    1. First and foremost, you should always keep backups of your hard work (like your translation file for example).
    2. Secondly, in your specific situation your best approach would be to simply update a duplicate copy of your language file using Poedit. Catalog > Update from pot file should do the trick. This should keep your changes while updating the available strings.
    3. Simply put, a non-updated .po/.mo file will always cause issues because, as you pointed out, the language file has to be rebuilt every time. Unfortunately, for now we can’t do much about that.
    4. You can protect yourself from your work being overwritten by storing your po/mo files in the /wp-content/languages/plugins folder. They will then override the files we put in the /lang/ folder. But, you would still need to run a manual update from pot files every time we have a plugin update

If you want to completely bypass this, there is a workaround:

    • Creating a template override for the views you want to impact (You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works).
    • Simply put, you have to copy the file of the view you want to tweak into a folder called /tribe-events/ in your theme.
    • Once that is done, you could either hardcode the string you no longer want to have to be bothered with or change it’s translation source from the Events calendar plugin to your theme. This way that string will be handled by your theme.

As a side note, in full disclosure we have been working hard at improving the quality of our language files (in the way that they are delivered, updated and kept in sync with Glotpress).

But, there are still a few bumps in the road at the time of writing.
We do appreciate your patience as we get better at this.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Matt and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

You are correct, there are no specific plans to make Filter Bar compatible with WPML.
That being said, we are totally looking at making all of our plugins compatible with WPML.

It simply means that we will work on the most requested ones first. The next in line are Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.

You are more than welcome to suggest it in our User Voice forum.
That way it could gain some momentum.

In the meantime, you did find the perfect link to get you started.

Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

That means that the snippet ideas provided by my colleague Barry are mere suggestions of starting points.

If you are stuck, you can always access our online documentation or hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Larry,

I totally see what you mean.

    This really odd behaviour.

The first thing I would recommend is to re-save your permalinks (sometimes they go out of sync after an update).

If that does not help, it is likely that there is a conflict at play here.

By the sound of it, it looks like there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    1. A conflict with another plugin
    2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
    3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to <u>go through our testing for conflicts procedure</u> (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1. Make a backup of your database
    2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Hang in there as we investigate this together.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
