Matt
GuestHi,
I am interested in buying Filter Bar, but I read in your knowledge base that it is not ready for using it with WPML, and that there are currently no plans.
Can you please give me a status update on that? And maybe can you give me guidance, what I would need to do in order to make it work on my setup, which is the following:
- Filter for event names
- Filter for event categories or tags
- Filter for event country and/or city, and potentially destination
I found this topic here in the forums, which has a code snippet to hook into the filters: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/hook-into-filter-bars-event-category-to-achieve-wpml-translation/
What does out of the box work for above mentioned filters, and for those, which do not work out of the box, would this hook work?
Thanks for some details.

MemberGood evening Matt and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. You are correct, there are no specific plans to make Filter Bar compatible with WPML.
That being said, we are totally looking at making all of our plugins compatible with WPML.It simply means that we will work on the most requested ones first. The next in line are Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.
You are more than welcome to suggest it in our User Voice forum.
That way it could gain some momentum. In the meantime, you did find the perfect link to get you started.
Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.
We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
That means that the snippet ideas provided by my colleague Barry are mere suggestions of starting points.
If you are stuck, you can always access our online documentation or hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

GuestOk unfortunately this doesn’t help me in the purchase decision. And getting this to multi-language is a key requirement.
Will I be able to get a refund for Filter Bar, when I purchase it, and try it by my own and find out that I can’t achieve multi-language with above code snippet?

MemberHey Matt,
Thank you for the Uservoice request. Hopefully that will gain some traction!
The good news is you are entitled to a refund as long as you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.
Let me know how that goes.
Best of luck,
