    Good evening Mark,

    Please keep me posted.
I am especially interested in finding out if switching to a default theme solves it.

I would recommend re-saving your permalinks every step of the way if you can.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening April and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:

    .fusion-events-featured-image .fusion-events-single-title-content {
    position: relative !important;
    }

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Keith and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us and for your fantastic words.
We are super stoked that you like our plugins.

I would love to help you with this topic.

You are absolutely right. To change these things will most likely require adding CSS rules to your theme’s style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox.

But, before you do that, I would recommend heading over to Events -> Settings -> Display and making sure your setting is at “Full Styles”.

If you need help with the CSS, could you send me a sample URL that I can look at ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Phil and Kate and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

We would like users to be able to register for events and fill out a number of fields before doing so. Do we also need Event Tickets along with it, if we are not charging for events? Its just plain old registration.

    This is a great question.

Actually Additional fields are not meant for registration purposes, but rather as a tool to display additional information in your events. You can see it in action here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-additional-fields/

Based on what your needs are, I believe you should get a copy of Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

This will let you collect additional attendee information: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/

That does not mean that you have to charge for your registration (unless you actually want to – in which case you will probably need to install WooCommerce as well). But it is the only way to get the functionality you are looking for.

So in short you will need:

    1. the Events Calendar
    2. Event Tickets (free): https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
    3. Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

When all of these are installed, you will use “RSVP” tickets (which come at no charge) and will be able to specify the extra info you want to capture.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Clare and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with these topics.

    1) The page title for my Events Calendar is currently “Events Archive”. How do I update the text so it says “Events Calendar” for the page title and on the main calendar (where it currently just says “archive”)?

This is most likely caused by the way your theme handles archives.

Try heading over to Events -> Settings -> Display and use different settings for “Events Template” to see if that helps.

If it does not could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

    2) Can I remove the 2 types of grey that appear on days of the weeks that have events happening on them? I’d like it to be the same colour as the days with no events happening on them. Changing The Events Calendar colours unde WordPress’s “Customize” section doesn’t seem to do anything unfortunately.

Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:

    .tribe-events-calendar div[id*="tribe-events-daynum-"] a, .tribe-events-calendar td.tribe-events-past div[id*="tribe-events-daynum-"] > a {
    background-color: none !important;
    }

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Kim and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

All of the current possibilities of what shortcodes can do (including parameters) are found here:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

With that in mind, you are right. Although they are great, these shortcodes might not offer the level of granular control you are looking for.

The good news is that we have built our plugins in a way that helps coder customize it to their likings. If you have not done so already, you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

If coding is not really your thing and you are looking for more, you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Maanit and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the colors not being to your liking.
I would love to help you with this topic.

There are a couple of ways to approach this:

    1. Make sure to check your settings under Events -> Settings -> Display and make sure that the “Full styles” option is selected
    2. Take a look at Appearance > Customize > the Events Calendar to see if you can’t find a setting that does what you are looking for
    3. If none of that works, you can simply try adding a CSS rule to your theme’s style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox.

For that last part, I would need to have an example URL to help you out.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Thomas,

I feel that I might have miscommunicated what I meant.
To be able to do what you want to achieve, you will need:

    1. the Events Calendar (which you have)
    2. Event Tickets: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
    3. Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/
    4. Community Events (which you already have)
    5. Community tickets (which is a completely separate product than Community Events): https://theeventscalendar.com/product/community-tickets/

    1. So Paypal is integrated with Tickets Plus and Community Events which means I can skip the WooCommerce? That simplifies it for me and the cost is all the same.

No, you will still need WooCommerce for customers to be able to purchase tickets.

Technically speaking, all of the transactions will go through your Paypal account.

The Paypal address of each organizer is built-in to our plugins for a couple of reasons:

    1. Allowing the use of Paypal split payments (if your Paypal account type allows it)
    2. Allowing you to manually pay your organizers if you do not use Paypal split payments.

    2. Last time I looked split fees functionality was pretty unpredictable but I can just as well bill my friends (the charitable organizations that will sell tickets) after the event. Is that the best approach?

I am sorry to hear you feel that way about split payments.
However, this does not reflect our experience with it.

Not only are there are no report of any issues with that functionality, but thousands of our customers are using this very happily.

So, in the end, this is up to you.

You don’t have to use the split payment approach if you don’t want to.
You can simply pay your organizers by billing them after you look at the reports.

    3. My annual budget is already about twice what I had originally planned and now I have to add Tickets Plus. Is there a discount for bundling? I will be using Events Calendar Pro, Community Events and Tickets Plus? Probably not…lol

I totally understand where you are coming from.
We do have some bundles available, but it looks like we currently do not have one that fits your needs unfortunately.

The good news is that the time saved with these plugins should most likely make up for their cost (depending on the size of your operation, of course).

    4. Do organizers design their tickets in the front end also? This is kind of coming back to me but I am also smack dab in the middle of multiple political websites for my friends running in April and I’m a little fuzzy on all of the moving parts sometimes because there is a lot moving.

I guess it depends on your definition of design.
All tickets will have the same overall look and feel.

But organizers will be able to do pretty much all that you can when creating tickets: add an image, stock options, attendee list options, details, dates, price, name description.

I guess I need to purchase Tickets Plus. I am a little fuzzy on how the organizer is going to get the list of attendees. I see that they can get a list and/or use the automated check-in but I don’t see any details on how that is implemented.

Actually, you need to buy Event Tickets Plus AND Community Tickets (as seen at the top of this reply).

Community Tickets will provide the organizer with the ability to log in and see their events and reports.

It also lets you control what they can and cannot do via additional setting in Events -> Settings -> Community.

I guess the best thing is to try it out for yourself at this point. Our user primers should get you up and running in no time.

And of course, if you have questions, we can most likely help.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Jeanine and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I would love to help you with this topic.

If you have not already, you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how you can add pretty much anything to any view and how that works.

Another idea might be to use the Events Calendar Pro additional fields for that purpose.
Additional fields will display “automatically” in most interesting views.

That is probably the easiest and fastest solution if coding is not really your thing.
Finally, you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Luthfi,

I am sorry that things are not working out for you.

As stated before, officially Event Tickets Plus and Event Tickets are not  supported yet.
As such, I believe I have offered you all the pointers I could, unfortunately.

Furthermore, our policy does not allow us to log in to clients websites for several reasons, including liability.

But I will part with one last recommendation. Some of our customers using WPML have reported odd behaviours with our plugins in the last couple of versions.

I can’t confirm if that is indeed related, but until new versions are released, your best bet would be to use the following versions of our plugins:

    1. the Events Calendar 4.3.5
    2. the Events Calendar Pro 4.3.4

Of course that means that you will need to match any other plugin of ours that you are also using (to the same period). You can do that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Hang in there as we work on Event Tickets Plus integration for WPML.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Adrian and welcome back to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I am sorry to hear that the previously shared method did not work.

I would love to help you with this topic.

As I have not found a trace of the previous thread, please know that you can totally do exactly that, we even have not one, but 2 snippets:

    1. https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/4f06f95dbff364242cf54a3b5271b182
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/email-rsvp-help/#post-1141037

Normally, the emails should be sent right away. If they are not, they might be blocked somehow.
You might want to try to install and configure the following plugin to use an SMTP server instead: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Mark,

    Sorry for the delay answering.
It took a while for me to get to that email.

I do have some relatively good news.
The reason why the shortcode is not displaying appears to be related to your theme’s default page template.

Most likely, there is probably something custom in that template on how the WordPress loop is being used.

By simply switching the event-test page page template to “Slider Revolution Blank Template”, you will see that the shortcode does indeed work.

With that in mind, the look is probably not what you are looking for.

My recommendation would be to create a new event page template that follows the basic WordPress loop structure so that you can select it on pages where you plan on using the shortcode.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
