MemberGood evening Peter and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the filter bar not kicking in with your theme.
I would love to help you with this topic.Since it looks like the issue is theme related, could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.Additionally, would it be possible to get credentials to see past the password protection of the staging site ?
Hang in there,
Geoff B.Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Jacqueline and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the background color issue you are experiencing.
I would love to help you with this topic. Before we begin, there are a couple of things I would like to recommend to help provide the best experience possible with our plugins:
- It looks like your the Events Calendar Pro version needs an update. The current version is 4.4.4 . You should be able to run the update from [yoursite.com]/wp-admin/update-core.php
- For the calendar to work properly, you will need to modify your Permalinks structure to pretty permalinks (/%postname%/) under Settings > Permalinks in your WP-admin dashboard
With that in mind, here are a couple of things you might want to try: Try different settings for Events Template under Events -> Settings -> Display
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Andreas and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Secondly a big thank you to Hans-Gerd for the help.
I would love to help you with this topic.
The simplest way to achieve what you are looking for, if Hans-Gerd’s last suggestion does not work, is to use a template customization.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Best regards,
Geoff B.
Basically, you can simply remove the end time from every view or from specific view using that approach.

MemberGood evening Doron and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.1. Is the plugin WPML compatible?
Yes, our the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro plugins are already compatible with WPML. But not all of our plugins and add-ons are: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wpml-support/
Over time we hope to add compatibility for all of our add-ons and plugins. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!
2. If we want to let users add event on their on (not registered users) – will that be possiable
This would normally be possible by using our Events community premium add-on:
Unfortunately, at this point this add-on is not compatible with WPML.
This means that the only way of accomplishing this for now is through customization.
If coding is not your cup of tea, you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
2.2 is it types toolset compatible? Can we add custom fields to events?
While we have not tested for types toolset compatibility specifically, I can tell you that many of our customers are using custom field via the Advanced Custom Post fields plugins.
Additionally, our the Events Calendar Pro add-on provides custom fields capabilities: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Mister,
Thank you for your answer.
To clarify, I was mostly referring to the fact that it appears you are the proud owner of a the Events Calendar Pro license. I did not see traces of that plugin or its version number in the previous system information you shared.
I apologize for not making things clearer. This is my bad.
I understand the scope of the support, but I think it is important here to find out whether this is a WPML or an Events Calendar issue, and I hope that your WPML coding expert can figure it out.
I absolutely agree with you and hopefully we are able to do just that.
The bad news is that after following-up, I found out that our residential WPML coder is unfortunately on work leave until April.
For that reason, I have also reached out to our most senior Dev staff with the hopes that they can provide some form of explanation.
What really makes me nervous is, that what I have written in my first post at the very bottom. While with the customized template, the taxonomy shows up twice, on the single event view it doesn’t. And both templates call the same functions ( tribe_get_event_categories which then calls get_the_term_list ).
Here again I am in complete agreement.
My hunch is that perhaps this has to do with a certain filter not being applied in the way you have integrated it to your custom template.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that this function is not called directly in any of our default views, but rather it’s called in:
- /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/functions/template-tags/general.php
- /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/modules/meta/details.php which is called “indirectly”
I should be able to provide more details on this topic tomorrow.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood morning Mister,
Thank you so much for writing back and for providing additional information.
However, for some reason, it appears that the the Events Calendar plugins system information (mostly the version number) is missing ?In any case, thanks to that I have been able to reproduce the issue of the custom taxonomy (in this case Event Categories) being duplicated.
A quick research has shown that this is sometimes the case with WPML:
- https://wpml.org/forums/topic/unable-to-translate-custom-taxonomies-results-in-duplicate-taxonomy-items/
- https://wpml.org/forums/topic/taxonomy-and-terms-duplicates-after-translating/
Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.
We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
With that in mind, I would still like to ask our WPML coding expert to see if there is not some filter that this needs to be run through to work.
In the meantime, if you get a chance, could you see if any of the WPML threads above help out?
Have a good weekend,
Geoff B.

MemberGood morning Peter,
Thank you for making the update.
That is a very good point about Event Tickets Plus. For some reason, it looks like there is a slight glitch that makes the update appear only in the Dashboard and not on the extension page [yoursite.com]/wp-admin/update-core.php
Can you give that a shot ?
Have a good weekend,

MemberBonjour Thierry,
Salutations,

MemberGood afternoon Mister,
At my colleague Andras’ request, I will be stepping in this thread as well to help with the customization you are trying to implement.
Just to make completely sure I am testing this out in a similar environment, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
