Good evening Michelle and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

You are right on every count! Kudos on the very thorough analysis.

What is going on is that only the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro support WPML integration for now: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wpml-support/

For the record, we are looking at making all of our plugins compatible down the road.
But alas, I do not have a specific date for Community Events for now.

With that in mind, there is something that is worth a shot (although I cannot guarantee that this will work).

Head over to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page.

Once you are there, you should see several cleanup buttons. I would recommend:

    • Clearing WPML cache
    • Using ALL the cleanup buttons on that page
    • Re-saving your permalinks

Something else that would be worth trying is to force some values by experimenting with the approach from one of our customers: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/disable-wpml-translation-for-tribe_events-2/

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Martin and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products. It’s truly appreciated.

However, please note that we do not offer support for our free plugin in this premium add-ons forum.

But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.

If you don’t mind, in the future could you please post your support questions here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar or perhaps consider the purchase of one of our premium plugins to get access to premium support ?

    With that in mind:

    1. Currently, the title that appears in the browser tab mashes together the name for the calendar page (or individual event) with the site title. There is no separator — e.g., ” | ” — between the two. Can that be fixed and, if so, how?

This sounds like an SEO plugin issue, you might want to check into that.

    2. I have different sidebars that appear on different pages. I’m using page/post IDs to direct which widgets go on each page/post. Unfortunately, I cannot find the page/post ID for the main calendar. It doesn’t show up anywhere in the settings and the /calendar page is not listed. Is there any way I can adjust this?

Unless you are using our the Events Calendar Pro add-on (which allows full calendar shortcodes), our calendar tends to not use actual pages, but archives instead.

This probably means you will have to use a custom page template to do what you are looking to do. You can select that page template under Events -> Settings -> Display.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Alan and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the errors you have been met with after upgrading to WooCommerce 3. I would love to help you with this topic.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these glitches.
As you can see here: https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/ we are actively working on a fix for this.

For now, we recommend remain on the highest WooCommerce 2.x version since WooCommerce 3 has introduced significant changes. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.

Thank you for your patience as we see this through.

Let me know if you need assistance with the downgrading process of WooCommerce.

    Best regards,

Good evening Claire and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Upcoming Events is the default “title” of the list view.

There are 2 ways to fix this:

    1. Modify the language file
    2. Use the snippet found at the end of the following page and adapt it to replace the ‘Upcoming %s’ string: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Ruud and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the calendar no longer displaying properly for you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

The first 3 things I would try are:

    1. Try different setting for Events template under Events -> Settings -> Display
    2. Try changing the Events URL slug under Events -> Settings -> General
    3. Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Kinnear and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

In order to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, I would highly recommend reading the following articles:

Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:

    .tribe-mini-calendar-event .list-info h2 {
    font-weight: normal;
    color: #004259 !important;
    }

Let me know how that goes.

This seems to be a duplicate of the following thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/woocommerce-conflict-2/

Therefore, I will close this one to ensure a faster resolution.

Good evening Christopher and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the error 500 message creeping up on you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

In case you have not done so already, could you walk through the following guides to see if it helps ?  https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/tips-tricks/how-to-fix-the-500-internal-server-error-on-your-wordpress-website and http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/

    Could you also tell me:

    • What version of WooCommerce you are using ? For now we recommend not upgrading to 3.x, but staying to the highest version of 2.6.x
    • If the issue subsists when switching to twenty-sixteen ?

    Hang in there,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Kathleen and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the reply disappearing on you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

It is hard to say what happened exactly when you submitted your lengthy reply.
But it sounds like there was some kind of connection issue at that time.

There is unfortunately no trace of that reply anywhere.
Our replies are published immediately, so they do not need to go through any approval process.

On any site, I highly recommend doing a “Copy” of any content you are about to submit in a form.
It has saved me countless times.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening George,

At my colleague Courtney’s request, I will be chiming in this thread.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

What is going on is that the language files for the Greek language are not fully translated yet.

The best way to fix this would be to update the language files and simply add the translation for the ‘%1$s for %2$s’ strings.

Here is some recommended reading on the topic:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/incomplete-translations/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/
    3. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/translating-the-events-calendar/

If you are up for it, you can even contribute to the translations for the benefit of all Greek-speaking users: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects

Short term, you could also customize the template for the different views and remove the “for” mention altogether.

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Let me know if you need help with either of those.
In fact, if you could tell me what the translation of “for” is in Greek, I should be able to help out.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Jason and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

It does not seem to apply any style changes I make in the settings to the calendar view.

This will largely depend on what theme you are using. Some themes “take over” the styling options (Avada comes to mind which turns out is your theme).

This can also depend on your settings under Events -> Settings -> Display .
More specifically your settings for Default stylesheet used for events templates

You should also take a look at your CSS rules, as they might be overriding some of your customizations: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-google-chrome-developer-tools/

Finally, some of it might be defined under Appearance > Customize > The events calendar. So you might want to look there.

To summarize, by the sound of it, one of these settings is preventing your changes from kicking in.

One way to see if Avada is interfering would be to try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
