Hi,
For the community events, we can add the amount for a front end submission.
https://raceconnections.com/index.php/events/community/add
However , there does not seem to be an option to add the event cost from the WP Dashboard or rather the back end.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. You are right, typically the cost field disappears from the backend when the Event Tickets plugins are activated.
The good news is that you can force it to reappear.
You can apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/69f8a033fb614c78b3de45a197431135
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

It worked, but now we don’t event cost function from the frond end, plus currency symbol does not appear with newly added listings.
Sorry for the trouble.Titus

I am sorry to hear that. Yikes!
Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing, would you mind, providing me with some specific examples (or screenshots) as well as a screenshot of the “Edit Event” screen for these ?
Hang in there!
Have a great day!

Thanks for your help.
If you see this listing, I can’t get the currency to show unless I add the
currency in the amount space. Basically the current space, even thought a
currency symbol is added, it does not show.[image: Inline image 1]
To add a listing from the front end the currency cost option is not
available after adding the code.[image: Inline image 2]
Works fine on the back end but event when currency symbol is added, it does
not show, the only way is to add the currency symbol in the amount space.[image: Inline image 3]

Thank you for the reply, but it looks like the images got lost in cyberspace somehow unfortunately.
Would you mind re-sharing them via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
Hang in there!

April 13, 2017 at 5:43 pm #1269748titusrajParticipantIndeed it got lost , sorry about that, here it is again.
Thanks
TitusApril 13, 2017 at 11:20 pm #1269879Geoff B.MemberGood evening Titus!
I can’t get the currency to show unless I add the
currency in the amount space. That is because you are using a range (e.g.: 10 – 23) when that is detected, you will indeed need to handle the currency symbol manually.
But, if you enter a single value (e.g.: 10), you will see the currency symbol reappear.
To add a listing from the front end the currency cost option is not
available after adding the code. Here is a snippet to add the cost field to the Community Events form: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/ab6203b4e9f6a881e6b4338a733ed7bf
Let me know how that goes.

Your help is much appreciated.
Your calendar is now doing almost everything I want it to do. Just couple
of years ago, it would have been impossible to think that a non programmer
can get this far with calendar and event functions. Congratulations to you
and your team.April 14, 2017 at 8:49 pm #1270356Geoff B.MemberGood evening Titus,

Have a good weekend,
