    Good evening Marie,

    Thank you for writing back.

    1. I can’t find the string: “This event is from %%starttime%% to %%endtime%% on %%startdatewithyear%%.” in plugins\the-events-calendar\lang\the-events-calendar-sv_SE.po but now I found it in plugins\the-events-calendar\lang\the-events-calendar-en_GB.po
How can I add that to my Swedish .po-file? I’m using the free version of Poedit. 2. Same thing here as above. The original “Select or Create a %s” is not to be found in the Swedish .po-file.

There are a couple of ways to do this.

    1. Open up the .pot file in /plugins\the-events-calendar\lang\ with Poedit and if there is any prompt, simply “Save” the file
    2. Open up your .po file and go to Catalog > Update from pot file.
    3. Save your po file and upload it in /plugins\the-events-calendar\lang\

    OR

Simply download the latest version of our plugins (including the Events Calendar 4.5.0.2

I just verified and your .po file includes those strings.

    OR

Add the strings with Notepad (as you did). However, this approach is not going to resist to updates.

Now I noticed it is right time format (24h) in backend but not by “Community slug”, how can I fix that?

The 24h hour time picker issue for Community Events is actually a glitch with some versions of Community Events.

At some point and after some tests, you might want to consider upgrading to the latest version of the plugin.

In the meantime, you could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/trishasalas/290b9d15bd9a92b81c5e5a9da6f0e5cc

    Good evening Sarah,

Awesome. Kudos on adjusting it to your liking.

However… This only displays the names of the person who did the registering of the attendees. I need the names of all the attendees.

Example – user Sarah Alger entered 4 attendees. I need all people RSVP’d to display.

If that is the case, then you could apply and sometimes tweak one of the following snippets in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top):

    1. https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/65ec638e8ef30f28dff8fbfdb7a114f7
    2. https://gist.github.com/niconerd/c585e653bd3bc8ff2787abdb7de22b36
    3. https://gist.github.com/niconerd/d2ea62be5375ae3dc088dd29b7350608

You might have to select the “Hide attendees list on event page” checkbox to use the shortcode.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Kevin and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear that you are not able to edit the recurring series. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

First off, did you notice this behaviour happening after some specific event (an upgrade perhaps ?)

If so, it might sound unrelated, but you might have to:

    1. Re-save your permalinks
    2. Empty all the caches and temporarily deactivate the caching plugin
    3. Temporarily deactivate the optimization plugin and its features
    4. Try to see if the security plugin is not getting in the way somehow.

If you do have a staging environment available, I would recommend going through the complete testing procedure (deactivating all other plugins as well) to see if that helps.

On a related note, my settings are to remove any series occurrences older than 2 months, and to only create events 12 months forward. However, there are series instances going back to 2015 that are still published, and instances well into 2019. Why is this feature not cleaning up the events?

The way this is supposed to work is that the initial event of any series is always kept in the system. Only the subsequent ones that fall within the cleanup rules that you define are normally deleted.

All of this is normally handled by CRON jobs on your WordPress installation.
But it seems that this is not the case on your server.

So you are right, having a very large number of events in the series is probably not helping here.

It is hard to say what happened here, but perhaps the following extension could help out here: https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/recurring-event-cleanup-tool/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Good afternoon Ethan,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing while attempting to reset your password.
I would love to help you with this topic.

What is going on is that there is a slight glitch in place with our password strength validation.

If a “weak” password was entered in, the form gives no feedback at all – it just silently fails and look like it is “stuck”.

This will be fixed shortly. But in the meantime, I would recommend using a strong password generator: https://strongpasswordgenerator.com/

Let me know how that goes.

Good afternoon Nik and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Normally, the shortcodes do not use different CSS rules than the normal calendar views.

Would it be possible to expand a bit on what you are trying to change ? Some screenshots and links to the page URL would help.

Could you also please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Good afternoon Steve and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I would like to charge attendees only when I approve their purchase

We actually hand over all of the transactional aspect of things to WooCommerce.

But, the good news is that it looks like it’s possible to achieve what you are looking for: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/99327/dont-charge-customer-until-product-ships-woocommerce

Let me know if that helps.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products. It’s truly appreciated.

However, please note that we do not offer support for our free plugin in this premium add-ons forum.

But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.

If you don’t mind, in the future could you please post your support questions here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar or perhaps consider the purchase of one of our premium plugins to get access to premium support ?

With that in mind, please note that we do not support integration with WP Globus at this point.
The only multilanguage plugin we do support is WPML: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wpml-support/

That being said, I know some of our customers have had success integrating with Polylang (although that is not supported for now).

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good afternoon Jen and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    1. to schedule private/public parties.

We can do both. While public is obvious, private could be handled in a couple of ways:

    1. Making the events password protected
    2. Using a plugins such as Members to ensure users are logged in to see the event (with the appropriate WordPress role: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/admin-roles-and-permissions/

    2. to allow customers to pay for their signs online. A few questions about this…
-Can the tickets be different prices? (I have about 50 different designs and 5 different sizes but most designs only come in 1-2 sizes.)

Technically speaking you can add as many tickets as you want to each event. And the different tickets can be any price you desire.

To have full ticketing power, you will need the following on top of the Events Calendar:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

So in short, you should be fine 🙂

-I also have a few add on’s. Is that something I can do with this calendar?

Could you expand on that ? Do you mean some upsell items for each event ?

If so, I guess you might have to use the following technique: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/selling-tickets-from-the-woocommerce-products-page/

-I’d like a print out of each party’s attendees and what they chose. Is this a possiblity?

Yes. With Event Tickets Plus you can display, export or email attendee lists and any additional attendee info you ask.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good afternoon Matt and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Is it possible to migrate these ticketed events and retain the attendees and tickets that were sold on the old site?

The short answer to this is yes.

You have a couple of ways to go about this:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-wordpress-export-tools-to-migrate-events-content/
    2. Use our brand new import from URL feature https://theeventscalendar.com/release-the-events-calendar-4-5/
    3. Manually extract and migrate the appropriate database info (tribe_events post type and their post_meta + do the same with all tickets). A plugin such a DB migrate is of great help for that purpose.

Let me know if that helps.

When translation file strings are not visible in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.

The solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

Additionally, since you are using WPML, you might need to re-scan the plugin for strings.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Adam,

I am sorry the translation is not kicking in.

I just ran a quick test using the latest version of our language files and switched my calendar to Polish.

When translation file strings are not kicking in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
    3. The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”

In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.

I had to update the latest po/mo files in Polish using Poedit and it works (see the attached files – Polish)

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
