    Good evening Stefan,

    Thank you for writing back.

We found a way to get that working fine. As we are using a custom field for each event to store an ID which is required for the button’s link, we want to have the custom fields hidden on the event’s detail page.

Actually, this is a pretty good idea.

However, if you are going to use Additional Fields for that purpose, I would recommend using actual WordPress custom fields (or a mix of them with Additional fields).

The main advantage of using WordPress custom fields is that they do not display by default (unless you actually program them to).

Question: isn’t there any other way to hide the custom fields from the single event page?

Yes, you could either tweak the different view templates to your liking (via a template customization using our Themer’s guide).

… Where exactly in the single-event.php template file are the custom fields loaded?

Actually, they are located in /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/modules/meta/additional-fields.php

Or would I have to hide them via CSS?

    That would also be possible.

But unless you are willing to use relative element CSS, I would ensure that each additional field gets assigned it’s own CSS class in your template override.

BTW: an option for each custom field to hide/show it on the event’s details page would be something for a future version, as I believe that custom fields are pretty often used to store something internal…

That is a very interesting idea. Thanks, I will share it with our Dev team.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Bonsoir Thierry,

Merci de nous écrire à nouveau.

Nous sommes navrĂ©s d’apprendre que vous obtenez une page blanche.

Pourriez-vous partager vos toutes dernières informations système, svp ?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Good evening Sukwoo and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I highly recommend reading and using the following guides if you have not already:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-translations-for-events-using-wpml/

Depending on your WPML setup, especially under Theme and plugins localization, you might have to make sure all of your language files are updated.

I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:

Finally, things such as the name of days and months are actually using the translations from WordPress. So, make sure you search for the names for all domains in String translation.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Nathalie and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    – The correct translation of event in French is “événement”. How could it be possible to correct this in the “Tribe events page title” as well as in the Widget (“Voir tous les événements” instead of “Voir tous les évènements”) ?

Actually, as it turns out, I am a native french speaker as well.
As it turns out “Ă©vènement” and “Ă©vĂ©nement” are both valid.

With that in mind, you can override any language file to your liking: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/

Or, you can contribute to the Belgian french translations, as described here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/translating-the-events-calendar/

In the end, it is totally up to you 🙂

    – How is it possible to modify colors of the Month calendar. I’ve tried a hundred ties and the title of the week’s days remain with black background

In order to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, I would highly recommend reading the following articles:

I’ll gladly answer any question you might have.

You can also try using different options under Events -> Settings -> Display for Default stylesheet used for events templates

    – Can you help for this : from the widget, the links to events are working well on some pages but not at all on some others. Both pages are built in the same way and have then the same config settings.

Would you mind providing us with an example ?

    Have a great day!

Good evening Stephanie and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the remaining tickets available showing on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Also, it would be great if the remaining tickets could be hidden until there are 4 spots left, for example. Is this possible?

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/94f37421a00db6f7a96368aa23a8d8bb#file-functions-php

Good evening Wayne and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

    I apologize for the delay.
Unfortunately, we do not monitor the forums during the weekends.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience so far.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The direct URL import didn’t work on any of the websites i tried

Would you mind sharing a few examples of such URLs ?
As you can imagine, we are highly interested in finding out about any glitches with that feature.

Could you also tell me if these sites are using the latest version of the Events Calendar or at least 4.5.x + ?

for the facebook importer i literally had to point to each individual page to collect event info

That is quite unexpected to say the least. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Here again, we would like nothing more than find out about what is not working.

If you could share some links (perhaps via a private reply), it would really help us help you out.

the way I had interpreted the plugin to work was to take all the hard work out of compiling when infact it has only took some of the hardwork out of the process and you still require a lot of human involvement to compile any kind of meaningful calendar.

We absolutely share you goal on this. Full disclosure, not that I have any doubt about the experience you had, but this is truly surprising.

I believe that seeing your examples will enable us to get a better sense of why you needed to do some manual compiling work.

For me, I would say the plugin is probably worth more like $40 for the little bit of pain it does take away, I should like someone to get in touch and refund me 50% of the price i’ve paid although at this point i would happily take the full refund and forego using the plugin.

As stated above, if that is cool with you, we would like to try to see if we cannot at least investigate this with you and see if we can meet your needs.

The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

So in short, there are no questions asked if you decide it is not for you. After all, the import thing is that you get true value out of our plugins.

Also is there anyway of turning off the global export option, why should i pay to populate a calendar for someone else to export it whole for free? export for individual events sure but the whole thing NO.

I am guessing you are referring to the “Export Events” button.

There a few resources to help you do just that:

    1. You can hide it with CSS
    2. You can remove it by customizing your views (e.g.: Month or List). You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
    3. You could apply the following snippets in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/removing-ical-and-google-calendar-links/#post-1234920

Good evening Jodi and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

would this calendar plug-in be able to show JUST the three days, and ALL of the events offered?

I believe the short answer to that question is yes.

Depending on what you are after exactly, it will be a matter of choosing the correct view, widget or shortcode. You might have to run some tests to see what you prefer.

However, to do this properly, you will probably need to grab a copy of our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/

Something like the photo view (or the free list view) might do the trick.

If you are looking for a shortcode or widget based approach, you could use these approaches:

    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

Good evening Dennis and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the emails not being sent. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

I don’t know if it’s coincidence but it stopped after I added a payment solution…?

It is indeed possible. I will need to troubleshoot with you to get to the bottom of this.

Could you also please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

    Hang in there!

Good evening Julien and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you have faced with the CSV import of venues.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I ran a quick test on my end with your file and there are a couple of tweaks I would like to suggest:

    1. Could you use a comma (,) a delimiter as opposed to a semi-colon (;) ?
    2. Some of your entries end up offsetting each other because the file is perceived as having 3 address fields (e.g.: Great Lakes Regional OTI Education Center – University of Cincinnati) you have to write the addresses in such a way that they are perceived as 2 address fields.
    3. For several reasons,I highly recommend that each venue gets a unique name. I suspect the system will not handle multiple venues with the exact same name properly (e.g.: Great Lakes Regional OTI Education Center – University of Cincinnati).

Or, at the very least, that they do not have the same address (e.g. University of Cincinnati).

Perhaps something like Great Lakes Regional OTI Education Center –  Stetson Building and use University of Cincinnati in the address only ?

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
