MemberHello Thiessoz! Thanks for getting in touch. We’re excited that you’re considering out plugins and hope they wind up being a good fit for you.
Good questions. I’ll do my best to answer them all here.
-Management Venue (available for $ 60 in All-in-One Event Calendar)
-Management organizer
-Import CVS (available for $ 30 in All-in-One Event Calendar)Yes, The Event Calendar PRO includes both Venues and Organizers. In fact, we have a nice little write-up of these features that you might be interested in.
The free version of The Events Calendar already comes packed with a CSV Importer, which will allow you to pull in events from other sources. Match the columns to the available fields, and the events will be imported in automatically. Same goes for Venues and Organizers. Here’s a tutorial on our CSV Importer, which includes a video screencast to give you an idea of how it works.
-Easy To use
We definitely like to think our plugins are easy to use. We put a lot of work into packing in a lot of features without overwhelming or confusing the interface. We’ve made the process of publishing an event almost identical to the process of publishing any other WordPress post, so the experience will feel incredibly similar and intuitive. Again, here’s a tutorial on how to publish an event to give you an idea of how that works.
-Widget Configurable (item number, category or tag selection, links to the events page)
The Events List widget that is included with PRO includes the ability to filter events by any number of tags and categories. However, filtering by item number is something that is not yet supported, though is a neat idea.
-theme Options (for the customization of the display (color different views))
The free version comes with three built in styles: Tribe, Full and Skeleton. Tribe is a fully styled calendar, Full is styled, but minimally, and Skeleton is a completely un-styled calendar. Here’s a good overview on those options.
Regardless of which style you choose, you are able to fully override the styles using your own CSS. Our Themer’s Guide is a good place to start to see how to use your own stylesheets as well as how to customize any calendar template.
-Rules Exclusion for a repeat event
We do have an option to display only the first instance of a recurring event, but I’m afraid that is the only option available as far as rules for excluding recurring events.
-A Agenda views
We do have a sample Agenda View available on GitHub as a free download. However, it’s less an officially supported view and more of an example of how to create your own calendar views. You could certainly use it as a foundation to get started.
-Front End Event Submissions
Our Community Events add on is perfect for front-end submissions. Check it out. 🙂
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Donna–thanks for following up!
Has no one else had issue with comment and sharing being smack in the middle of an event?
This certainly hasn’t come up that I’ve seen. Like I mentioned, it seems like there is a conflict with how the other plugins are trying to interact with the Events post content. It certainly is an odd placement, but is ultimately the result of those plugins injecting themselves into the template–the calendar plugin has no control over that, unfortunately.
Is there a way to pop the bottom section up to the top, this would put comments and sharing at the bottom by default.
Yes, what you’re describing is the second option I suggested, which is overriding the single-event.php template to create a custom layout where you can position things as you’d like them.
If it still requires a custom theme can you direct me to what code is needed to make this happen
The Themer’s Guide is the best place to start with customizations. As far as custom development goes, that’s something that we unfortunately are unable to support here in the forums, but the Themer’s Guide should definitely get you started. We also have our full documentation available available for reference as well.
Again, sorry I don’t have specific code examples or custom solutions to provide, but hopefully these help get you started in the right direction.
Cheers!

January 9, 2015 at 10:24 am in reply to: Editing an event as an Admin in the dashboard causes authorship change #930974Geoff
MemberHi Donna, nice to see you again and welcome back! Thanks for breaking your questions up into separate threads, by the way–we appreciate it.
When someone is submitting an event via the Community Events form, are they anonymous guests or registered members?
The reason I ask is because if someone posts anonymously, then there is no way of tracing a submission back to them in the first place. And, since, the admin of the site sets the event to Published or edits the event, then that event will be placed in the admin’s “My Events” list of events since that account handled the publication. That’s expected behavior since no one was actually traced as the author originally.
However, if someone is submitting an event as a registered member, that event is published and edited by an admin, and then the event appears in the admin’s “My Events” list instead of the original registered member’s list, then that’s an issue. I did, however, try that scenario and the authorship remained in tact.
Please go ahead and confirm that for me before we start with any sort of troubleshooting. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Donna! Thanks for getting in touch–and love how the site is coming along. Nice work. 🙂
I see what you mean. The comments and sharing options are displayed right below the event description, then followed by the event details and map. No good!
It looks to me that the Jetpack and Facebook Comments plugins you’re using are searching for the post description, then injecting themselves right after it. The not-so-good news is that’s an issue with those plugins since they are taking it upon themselves to display where they think they should.
However, it’s possible you might be able to workaround that in two ways:
- Try switching events templates. Try heading over to Events > Settings > Display and changing the “Events template.” Do you notice a difference if you choose the “Default Events Template” and save your settings? How about a different page template from your theme?
- Try a custom template. The calendar allows you to override any of the template and roll your own layout. For example, you can override the single-event.php template and position elements the way you see fit. In this case, you may want to move the the details and map modules above the description, which would force the comments and sharing options to the end.
If you choose to roll your own template, I’d suggest checking out our Themer’s Guide. This will thoroughly explain the process and is the best place to start.
Sorry I don’t have more of a concrete solution to offer here, but hopefully this helps shed some light and points you in the right direction. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHello there, Carl! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
The WooTickets plugin acts like a bridge between The Events Calendar and WooCommerce. It allows you to create any number of tickets for an event directly in the Events post editor, then those tickets get saved as Products in WooCommerce, which tracks sales and handles the checkout process.
You might be interested in this tutorial, which walks through the process of creating a ticket for an event step-by-step. It’s a good place to start to see how it works.
I do want to clarify one thing: The Events Calendar PRO does not allow site visitors to add events from the front end of your site, though our Community Events plugin does. And, unfortunately, people who submit events via Community Events are unable to create tickets at the same time, even if you have both WooTickets and Community Events installed.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Dawne! Welcome to the forums and sorry you’re hitting some trouble with activatiion–that’s definitely not good.
When I see error messages like this come up, it is almost always solved by doing a fresh install of the plugins. It sounds like you manually re-installed The Events Calendar PRO, and I wonder if a file got corrupted along the way. So, let’s try to flush it out with a clean slate on all three plugins.
Will you please:
- Download a fresh copy of The Events Calendar (you can grab this on WordPress.org) as well as PRO and Community Events (you can get these here on this site under My Account > Downloads)
- Make sure all the plugins are the same version (latest is 3.9 for all three)
- It’s always a good idea to back-up your database before making any changes to your site.
- Go into your WordPress dashboard, head over to Plugins > Installed Plugins, and deactivate those three plugins.
- FTP into your plugins directory and remove the three plugins (you can save these on your desktop for backup purposes)
- Upload the fresh plugins via FTP
- Go back to the WordPress Plugins page and activate the plugins. Start with The Events Calendar, then PRO, then Community Events
Please give that a shot and let me know what you find. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Liza! Welcome to the forums. 🙂
What’s odd is that your calendar is defaulting to December when it should default to the current month, regardless if there are events in the current month or not. Very strange!
I notice there are several errors when inspecting your site in the console, so that makes me wonder if there is a conflict with your theme or possibly another plugin that is causing the issue. Will you please try the steps in our Testing for Conflicts Guide?
Give those a shot and let me know what you find. I’m hoping this will help us pinpoint where the issue is coming from.
Cheers!
