    It’s certainly worth testing to make sure that’s the case. The goal is to grant any permissions that enable visitors to submit an Events post. Try it with the setting off and then on to see if there any difference.

    Cheers!

    Hi Tracy, thanks for following up!

    It looks like you’re running the latest version of our plugins (The Events Calendar and EDD Tickets). Since the issue is still popping up, even after deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme, I suggest reaching out to Easy Digital Downloads support. The issue seems to be in the cart, which is not handled by either of our plugins.

    Sorry I don’t have a concrete solution for you here, but hopefully the Easy Digital Downloads team can help shed some light on what is happening.

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Tekerren! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble with the Admin view for Events.

    We haven’t changed anything as far as the WordPress navigation goes. Events should still an option in the left menu as it has been in the past (screenshot).

    I honestly haven’t seen this issue reported before and I’m unable to recreate it myself. Is there a chance that there is a conflict with the theme you’re using or possibly one of the other installed plugins? It looks like there’s some customization to the WordPress dashboard, so I’m wondering if any of those changes might have had an impact?

    I see you noted that you tried switching to a default WordPress theme and deactivating all other plugins. Did you happen to notice a difference under these conditions? I would also suggest following the steps in our Testing for Conflicts Guide, if you haven’t already.

    Let’s start there and let me know what you find before we move on.

    Cheers!

    Ah, there we go! I think that puts on the right track–great job!

    Wow, that’s quite a list! I would think adding Edit Published Tribe options would be good since someone may want to edit their event submissions. I think Publish Tribe Events is another big one. Honestly, though, you may need to toggle some of these these and try to get the right combination of settings together to get the exact configuration.

    Let me know if you have any other follow questions. 🙂

    Hi there, Tony! Thanks for getting in touch.

    Good question. You can move the EDD ticket box by removing the current action that places it below the meta details and adding an action that places it above the content. For example:

    https://gist.github.com/geoffgraham/0c2f380a8efccdb57e09

    You may need to fiddle with that a little bit to format the form exactly to your needs, but that will certainly move the box above the content.

    I’m also curious which file in The Events Calendar or EDD Tickets contains the original add_action for this because I couldn’t find it in any of the EDD Tickets plugin files.

    I believe this is called in The Events Calendar core plugin. All ticketing add-ons share the same framework, so the core plugin calls the action and the add ons extend it.

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Tamara! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. We hope you’ve been enjoying the plugins so far. 🙂

    Good question. Recurring events follow daily, weekly and monthly patterns. There is a custom option that allows you to create more complex patterns (e.g. weekly every three weeks), however, there is currently no way to create a pattern based off a specific date in the month (e.g. third Wednesday of each month).

    We’ve started work on a more free-form way to create recurring patterns that I think will do exactly what you’re looking for. Unfortunately, there isn’t a set timeframe for when it will be released.

    Sorry I don’t have more of a concrete solution for you here, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Tracy! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you;re hitting some trouble with the Cart Totals in EDD Tickets.

    The first thing I want to note is that the cart functionality is handled by the Easy Digital Downloads plugin. The EDD Tickets plugin allows you to create tickets in an Events post, but the actual cart and transaction process is entirely handled in by Easy Digital Downloads, so it’s likely you may need to start with their support for troubleshooting.

    I was also unable to replicate the issue on my end, which leads me to believe that there is possibly a conflict at play with the theme or another installed plugin. I see you noted that you tried switching to a default WordPress theme and deactivating all other plugins. Did you happen to notice a difference under those conditions? Our testing for conflicts guide is a great place to start for pinpointing these types of issues.

    Also, I see you noted that you are using version 2.2.2 of Easy Digital Downloads, but what version of The Events Calendar and EDD Tickets are you using? Make sure the latest version is installed and activated for each one–3.9 is currently the latest version for both.

    I suggest starting by testing for conflicts and making sure the correct plugin versions are being used. If the issue is still popping up, then I would recommend hitting up the Easy Digital Downloads support forum for troubleshooting on that end since the issue seems to appear during the transaction.

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Donna! Thanks for following up!

    Yes, that makes sense–thanks for clarifying. It sounds like that even though they do have profiles via the Wishlist plugin, that data is not accessible or extended to other functionalities, like Community Events. that means that they are still not recognized as authors capable of writing and editing posts in WordPress, but rather as anonymous guests instead.

    Unfortunately, the only way Community Events can trace a submitted event back to a specific person is if they have those permissions. Otherwise, they will continue to be seen as anonymous posters, not just to Community Events, but to WordPress as well. I wonder if using another plugin to manage your user roles would help bridge that gap. Here’s a quick search of plugins that might do the trick. Also, here is a list of all editing capabilities offered in the calendar plugin to give you an idea of what permissions are available.

    I hope this helps clarify things a bit!

    Hi there, Nicola! Thanks for reaching out and sorry you’re hitting some trouble here with the datepicker format in the Community Events submission form.

    The datepicker selection appears to be an oversight on our part. I’ve logged a ticket for our developers to look at it further and we’ll do our best to follow up with you directly here in this thread when we have an update to share. It’s worth noting that we are in the midst of releasing an update, so it’s unlikely this one will make the cut. So, if it comes, it would likely in be in the next following release.

    I have launched a request for help before already but didn’t receive any help.

    I see the thread you’re referring to and it looks like Brian responded. Did you not receive a notification of his response? If not, our apologies, and we hope you didn’t think we were ignoring you. In his response, Brian does offer a nice solution that should solve the issue while the devs look into the issue further. The solution does not require learning a new programming language, but rather to copy and paste a snippet into your theme’s functions.php file.

    Cheers!

    Hello there, Paul! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums–we hope you’re enjoying the plugins so far. 🙂

    Good question. You can target the submission button in your theme’s styles.css file with this CSS class:

    button, .button, input[type="button"], input[type="reset"], input[type="submit"]

    So, for example, you could do something like:

    button, .button, input[type="button"], input[type="reset"], input[type="submit"] {
    background-color: #000;
    font-size: 16px;
    }

    Give that a shot and let me know if it helps. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Kevin! Thanks for getting in touch and for using the plugins–we’re stoked you’re giving them a try. 🙂

    The basic functionality of the WooTickets plugin is that it acts as a bridge between The Events Calendar and WooCommerce, by allowing you to create tickets directly in Events posts while managing them in WooCommerce as Products.

    That means for each Event post you publish, you can create any numbers of tickets that will display on the event page. Once the visitor selects the number of tickets to purchase, WooCommerce takes over and handles the checkout and transaction process.

    For your setup, it sounds like you would create an event post for each training, then setup tickets for them in the post. For example, you might consider creating an event for each recurrence of the “WeekEnd at the Beach (Daytime)” and create tickets in those posts.

    Alternatively, you can use the recurring events feature in The Events Calendar PRO to publish all the instances of an event in one post. The tickets you create for the series will all share the same inventory. That means if you set up 500 tickets for the “WeekEnd at the Beach (Daytime)” series, each ticket purchased from any one of those event instances will draw from the pool of 500 tickets.

    The Events Calendar PRO also includes Venues. That means you can create a reusable venue and associate your events to them. the nice thing about Venues is that they automatically get their own page and list the events associated with them. Here’s a nice overview of how that works.

    If you are looking for help with custom development, we’d be happy to share a list of freelancers who might be able to help. Send us an email at support [at] theeventscalendar.com and we’ll send that over. You can reference this thread for context.

    Does this help answer your question and clarify things a bit? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hi there, Aaron! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble with the install/uninstall process.

    I think you’re on the right track and that a fresh install would certainly help. While you’re at it, I would also suggest downloading and installing fresh copies of each plugin as well to ensure no corrupted files are at play. You can snag a fresh copy of PRO here on this site under My Account > Downloads and the free plugin on WordPress.org. It’s also a good idea to backup your database before making these kinds of changes.

    Give that a shot first, then see if you notice a difference.

    If not, then you might want to consider checking out the Event Rocket plugin. It’s not officially supported here in the forums, but is maintained by one of the devs here on the team. It has the option of completely nuking events from the database. Again, it’s a good idea to back up before wiping things out. 🙂

    Let’s start there–please let me know what you find.

    Cheers!
