ParticipantI’ve been using Events Calendar PRO for a over a year now on a few sites. On two of them it has no issue, but on one it wouldn’t display the event ends times.
A reinstall fixed that particular issue, but now events are not linking at all (“page not found”). Furthermore, all the events previously created are there (it says 272 published events), but not actually visible or editable in the events manager. I think a clean uninstall and reinstall would fix these problems, but how do you do that?

MemberHi there, Aaron! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble with the install/uninstall process.
I think you’re on the right track and that a fresh install would certainly help. While you’re at it, I would also suggest downloading and installing fresh copies of each plugin as well to ensure no corrupted files are at play. You can snag a fresh copy of PRO here on this site under My Account > Downloads and the free plugin on WordPress.org. It’s also a good idea to backup your database before making these kinds of changes.
Give that a shot first, then see if you notice a difference.
If not, then you might want to consider checking out the Event Rocket plugin. It’s not officially supported here in the forums, but is maintained by one of the devs here on the team. It has the option of completely nuking events from the database. Again, it’s a good idea to back up before wiping things out. 🙂
Let’s start there–please let me know what you find.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the response! My initial reinstalls were using fresh downloads of the plugin. The Event Rocket Plugin did a good job of resetting the calendar back to factory settings.
Only problem now (and it’s a big on unfortunately) is that when I post an event, it appears on the calendar, but doesn’t appear on the backend. Basically all events are now un-editable. It still says the event exists – All (1), Published (1) – but then doesn’t appear on the backend. This is beginning to be a real hassle as I’m having to do this on a live site that relies very heavily on the plugin (why I got pro). Any suggestions?
Cheers,

MemberHey there, Aaron! Thanks for following up.
Oh man, that’s really odd. Typically, if I see anything quirky like this on the back end, my first inclination is try switching to a default theme and deactivating all other plugins to see if there’s a conflict. It looks like you noted trying those things already. It would be great if you could try the steps in our Testing for Conflicts guide now that the plugin has been reset.
Please give that a shot and before we go any deeper and let me know if you see any difference under those conditions.
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Geoff,
I did try disabling and reactivating plugins initially when troubleshooting without any discoveries. Tried it again while going through the Testing for Conflicts guide as suggested and found that disabling the “Events Pro” plugin actually allowed the events to turn up on the backend again! Doesn’t appear to be any other plugin or theme conflicts. Any idea why this might be happening and how to get around it? Both plugins are latest version (3.9).
Cheers,

MemberThanks so much for testing for conflicts–that’s super helpful and I appreciate it. 🙂
I wonder if there’s something happening with the selected Filters & Columns metabox above the list of events (screenshot). Will you please try hitting the “Clear” button, then clearing cache to see if that has an effect?
Thanks for bearing with me here as we try to figure this out!

ParticipantThanks Geoff, I forgot to check the filter box! Clearing the cache fixed the last problem. It all seems to be working correctly again now. Thanks for working through the problem with me.
I did have one more question, though it’s unrelated so answering is optional: I was wondering if it’s possible to have the events calendar create pop-ups instead of redirect to new pages when clicking on events. For context, I was looking at switching over to this theme: http://demo.designwall.com/dw-page/?theme=dw-page-modern#portfolio and was hoping to structure things like the “project” pop-ups. Is there an easy work-around to do this possible with events calendar or does it require fiddling with core coding?

MemberSweet! I’m so glad that did the trick. The filter metabox is definitely an easy one to miss.
That’s a rad popover effect. I’d imagine that sort of customization is possible, but it would definitely take some development on your end to achieve it. For example, you can see how creative some people get with customizations by checking out our showcase. A good place to start with customizations is our Themer’s Guide, which will walk you through the ins and outs. Still, it will take a little elbow grease, for sure. 🙂
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since we hit the core question, but feel free to hit up a new one if you have more follow-up questions about customizations and we’ll definitely try to point you in right direction if we can.
Cheers!
