Cliff
MemberI think I might have a solution for you…
At wp-admin > Events > Settings > “Events URL slug” and “Single event URL slug” are both set to “event”.
Please try changing them to not be the same, such as setting “Events URL slug” to “events” instead of “event”.
Please let me know if this solves the issue. If it is confirmed as a fix, I’ll log this as a bug for our plugin’s rewrite rules.

MemberScratch that. It was a wp-includes plugin for TinyMCE — nothing you’ve activated… please disregard my last message.
Cliff
MemberOn the event edit screen, I saw there was a Console message from the compat3 plugin, whatever that is. So please deactivate that one alone and re-test the line break issue.
If it’s not the solution, please continue disabling the rest, per our Testing for Conflicts Guide.
Cliff
MemberThat link worked.
I requested that you also set the site to Testing for Conflicts Mode.
Could you please do that before I get in there and start clicking around and such?
And if they aren’t already, please enable (set to true) both WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY.
Cliff
MemberHi, Kynan.
Could you please describe exactly which datepicker(s) you’re having this trouble and which device(s) you’ve tested with so we can try to reproduce the issue?
Cliff
MemberHi, Adrian.
We don’t have a particularly straight-forward solution for this request, but https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-calendar-newsletter/ (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us) might be a good fit for your needs.
Also, you could request this as a new feature (or maybe search to see if the idea was already posted by someone else) at our plugins’ UserVoice page.
This allows others who are interested in that feature to easily voice their support. We frequently review suggestions there to find out which ones are popular, then we implement as many of them as we can.
If you post it / find it, feel free to link to it from here in case anyone comes across this forum thread in the future.

MemberHi, Andrew.
Sure, this could be accomplished by doing a template override for /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/src/views/community/modules/taxonomy.php
You’d want to add your logic for checking their membership level and then, if not authorized, you could remove that Event Category from the list of available options.
If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.
Please let me know how this goes for you.
Cliff
MemberHi. Thanks for the detailed question.
So that I can try to replicate this myself, what is an upcoming event that you’d expect to appear in the results when filtering by distance?
Also, did you try entering something like “City, State” or something a bit more prominent/unique like “The White House” or actual lat/long geocoordinates?

Cliff
MemberWhich exact option did you change and what did you change it from and to?
The “a:” part of things — although not sure exactly which item you’re referring to — sounds like the data was serialized, which shouldn’t be modified by hand.
We always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.
Cliff
MemberAwesome! Glad to hear. Thanks for the quick response.
August 25, 2017 at 5:15 pm in reply to: Customer purchase issue! Confirmation email shows wrong date #1340567Cliff
MemberThanks for clarifying, Russell.
There definitely shouldn’t be incorrect dates coming through email.
This isn’t currently a known issue so I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:
There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
- Downloads / Version Numbers
- License Keys
- TEC Automatic Updates
- or TEC Manual Updates
- WordPress core updates
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups before modifying anything on your site.
If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).
Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply. That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.
You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.
Cliff
MemberThanks! Have a great weekend. 🙂
Cliff
MemberIt wasn’t on our internal to-do list as far as I could tell so I filed a feature request internally to add “array” querying for both Organizers and Venues.
Hopefully they’ll get around to it eventually, but I can’t promise if/when that might be.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic at this time.
