ParticipantA regular scheduled Google Calendar import didn’t seem to import new events, so I deleted it and recreated the scheduled import.
When I add the iCal file (from Google) the events show in preview. But as soon as I add the suburb name (the same as I did previously) then ALL events disappear. Here’s the website:
http://www.samford.org.au/calendar/And here’s the calendar we’re importing. But we only want events within 20km of Samford or Samford Valley or Samford Village to appear. I’ve tried them all… and they have previously worked on this exact calendar.
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/samfordvalleyrc%40gmail.com/public/basic.icsI’ve updated the core and all plugins, and tried with plugins (except TEC and Event Aggregator) turned off, and even reverted to twentyseventeen (non-child).

MemberHi. Thanks for the detailed question.
So that I can try to replicate this myself, what is an upcoming event that you’d expect to appear in the results when filtering by distance?
Also, did you try entering something like “City, State” or something a bit more prominent/unique like “The White House” or actual lat/long geocoordinates?

ParticipantThanks for your prompt reply Cliff! Love your work.
This has worked previously so it’s strange it has now stopped.
Yes I have tried our State as well (even though it wasn’t needed previously).
Samford Village Qld
Samford Valley Qld
Samford Qld
Samford Queensland
Samford AustraliaI’ve also tried our closest city “Brisbane Qld” at 100km. And it’s not showing any events either.
I’ve also tried the long/lat for Brisbane -27.373611, 152.886589 and that yields no results either.

MemberAh ha! I did some extra digging and discovered that our Event Aggregator server (that does the getting and the heavy lifting) has an issue with its geolocation logic.
I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. My best guess is 1-3 weeks, but I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.
I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

MemberHi. The bug has been resolved. Please test and see if things are now working for you as expected.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.

MemberPlease note that the developers specifically tested “Samford Village, Qld, Australia” as a working location to search via, as not all variations of that city’s naming (e.g. “Samford Village” or “Samford, Vill., Qld”, etc.) would work.

ParticipantIt’s not working still sorry.
If I chose no refinements, then the preview displays all 53 events. But if I then try -27.3734988,152.8813584 or “Samford Village Queensland 4520” or “Samford Village, Qld, Australia” then all events disappear.
And I’ve updated to the latest version of TEC 4.5.12.2 and TEC Pro 4.4.17.
I temporarily deleted all existing Samford Rotary events (so they’re not being ignored). But I’ve had to reinstate them, and manually delete events which aren’t in Samford.
You can still test via wp-admin if you wish.

MemberI confirmed the same; sorry about this. I’ve sent it back to our developers to try again. I’ll set this thread back to Pending Fix status.
