    Rudi: would you be able to share your system information by private reply?

    Can I add the custom field, Attendee Name, to the existing event and than go back and edit the sales I already have to fill in that field?

    I’m really sorry, but that is not currently something the plugin supports.

    It would theoretically be possible to create the custom fields (it sounds like you have already done this and are using them for new orders) and then ‘backfill’ the missing data, however this would be a comparatively complicated operation and beyond what we can usually assist with.

    Weird, it’s not under this account. Could be under my other account, [email protected]

    That is weird – unfortunately, I’m drawing a blank when I search for that email address or ones like it.

    Would you mind logging in using the relevant account instead? Or, if you have the receipt from your Event Tickets Plus purchase handy, feel free to share the order number by private reply (and I can validate things that way).

    Thanks!

    Hi Gregg,

    So it sounds like that in fact did work in terms of making the main events page accessible, but the new problem is that all of the events you had previously entered are missing from the database. Does that summarize things accurately?

    I’m curious: it sounds like, previously, the plugin was accidentally deactivated – did this coincide with any other work or changes made to the site?

    Do you have a backup available?

    I have to admit I would be surprised if the change to MariaDB would have impacted things.

    Some other thoughts/items to explore:

    • What happens if you deactivate the Category Colors plugin? (It’s a great plugin, but it isn’t actually one that we are responsible for)
    • Is it only Firefox in which you see this error – which version if so?
    • Any chance you could expand the error message and provide us with the complete error? (Right now it seems to be truncated)

    Thanks!

    Hi R,

    You’re absolutely right.

    Unfortunately, there can be a delay from when we change strings of text within the plugin to when the translations become available (since we depend on community contributions) and this is one such case.

    What you can do, though, is obtain the latest Dutch translation for The Events Calendar from the following location:

    translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/the-events-calendar/stable/nl/default

    All you need to do is use the option at the bottom of the screen to export all current translations as a machine object message catalog (mo) file. Then, take that file and rename it to the-events-calendar-nl_NL.mo and add it to the following directory within your WordPress site:

    wp-content/languages/plugins

    With that done, please visit the Settings → Permalinks screen as outlined in my previous reply. You should then find that any /alle/ URLs work.

    Does that help?

    Those particular controls should appear regardless πŸ™‚

    Are you finding that isn’t the case?

    Unfortunately I just don’t see the same when I attempt to replicate the issue from the child site of a multisite network.

    The next step if we want to dig into this a little more is to run through our standard troubleshooting steps:

    theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts

    The idea here would be to deactivate all other plugins (including network activated plugins) except for The Events Calendar and re-test. If you give that a shot, do you find that resolves the problem?

    Ah, I see!

    In addition to the next/previous month links, users can use the date selector. If you look at our demo site, for instance, and you try clicking the Events in (date) field, you should find a selector appears that lets you rapidly move to another month (or even to another year).

    Does that help?

    One of your screenshots shows that there is a slug conflict: you seem to be using workshops for both your event archives and for a page. Often, that simply means that The Events Calendar will take precedence but in some environments things don’t work out that way.

    To test this theory out, can you navigate to Events → Settings → General and modify the Events URL slug field to something else – perhaps simply ‘events’ – then save the change and navigate to Settings → Permalinks: you need change nothing on this screen, but accessing it causes WordPress to rebuild the rules it uses to route pages.

    With that done, see if your event views become accessible again.

    Hi Gordon,

    Great question!

    This isn’t something that Event Tickets Plus directly facilitates, as it relies of one of WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads to handle monetary transactions and receipt generation.

    To the best of my knowledge neither of those platforms directly support what you want, either (though they certainly send out order confirmation emails and receipts, they do not default to PDF or have special handling for donations that I’m aware of). That said, both have extensive ecosystems of plugins and extensions that may very well provide anything extra you need.

    Does that help at all, or at least give you some further avenues to explore?

    Hi Lance,

    I’m afraid we haven’t made any further progress. Are you still encountering this issue and were you able to debug in more detail/replicate the same thing on a test site?

    Thanks!

    Hi Rae-Anna,

    It looks like you already have a custom tribe-events.css stylesheet in place – great to see! I wonder, can you try adding the following additional rules there?

    #tribe-events .tribe-events-event-meta.secondary {
        display: block;
    }

    Let me know if that helps πŸ™‚
