Prior to any updates the Event Aggregator function (only recently upgraded from ical importer) is not completing either a scheduled or manual import.
Items show when using import preview – they just aren’t being inserted in to the site calendar.Secondarily; it seems the import was not synchronising and when the ical (Google Calendar) record was updated it wouldn’t update the website. As this is middle-of-the-day we are unable to disable plugins or switch the theme to 2014 as its at peak traffic (and is a multi-site).
Any ideas please?
April 10, 2017 at 7:48 am #1267615BarryMemberHi Lance,
My apologies first of all for the delayed response: we’ve been experiencing higher demand than normal and unfortunately that has led to us falling behind just a little.
As this is middle-of-the-day we are unable to disable plugins or switch the theme to 2014 as its at peak traffic (and is a multi-site).
Totally understandable.
How about this: visit Events → Help and scroll down to the Event Log then select Full Debug (All Events) as the logging level, then try to run a further import. With that done, please return to the event log and let me know if any new entries have been recorded there.
Could you additionally (by private reply if you prefer) let me know some of the source URLs you are trying to import from?
Thanks!
April 11, 2017 at 3:12 am #1268140LanceParticipantHello Barry – and thanks for your reply.
From the debug log it has two entries (waited 21 minutes after starting
import):“2017-04-11 22:00:00″,”Record (23175) skipped, not scheduled
time”,debug,aggregator
“2017-04-11 21:45:02″,”Record (23175) skipped, not scheduled
time”,debug, aggregatorThis is the iCal URL it is importing from

/public/basic.icsApril 11, 2017 at 7:43 am #1268226BarryMemberThanks, Lance.
So those entries would appear to suggest that they were deliberated skipped because the scheduled amount of time between imports had not yet been reached.
If you now visit Events → Import → Scheduled Imports and identify the entry matching the feed in question, what is the frequency set to?
Last but not least: rather than attempt to to further debugging on a live site, would you be able to create a new WordPress site in a subdirectory – example.com/test-wp – or something similar? Most hosting packages make this a pretty fast thing to setup. If you then install only The Events Calendar, add your Event Aggregator key and try the import again, does it work in that environment?
April 11, 2017 at 9:29 pm #1268676LanceParticipantHi Barry,
An update: we manually uploaded an ICS file which didn’t really display all
the field information properly. Having deleted all that and started with a
fresh clean import (having just completed a recent Events Calendar update)
we are getting this log. Any events loaded are set to todays date (instead
of that inside the iCal feed).2017-04-12 16:15:40 No Records over retetion limit, skipped pruning expired debug aggregator 2017-04-12 16:15:40 No Records Pending, skipped Fetching from service debug aggregator 2017-04-12 16:15:39 Record (23175) skipped, not scheduled time debug aggregator 2017-04-12 16:00:51 No Records over retetion limit, skipped pruning expired debug aggregator 2017-04-12 16:00:51 No Records Pending, skipped Fetching from service debug aggregator 2017-04-12 16:00:51 Record (23175) skipped, not scheduled time debug aggregator 2017-04-12 15:48:23 No Records over retetion limit, skipped pruning expired debug aggregator ...
April 12, 2017 at 7:59 am #1268837BarryMemberHi Lance,
Thanks for the update. I’ve shortened the logs you shared just a little to make for easier reading (they essentially repeat the same error in relation to the same import record – 23175 – which is noteworthy).
Please bear with me a little longer while we check this out in some more detail.
April 18, 2017 at 4:21 pm #1271370BarryMemberHi Lance,
I’m afraid we haven’t made any further progress. Are you still encountering this issue and were you able to debug in more detail/replicate the same thing on a test site?
Thanks!

We’ve been unable to get this to work so have uninstalled it and replaced
with an alternative. So we’ve got an unused subscription….April 19, 2017 at 9:11 am #1271667BarryMemberThis reply is private.
