Hey Caitlin, we haven’t forgotten about you! Bear with us a little longer 🙂
BarryMember… Just to add, this might take a little while, I can’t really guarantee a quick answer for this one.
BarryMemberHey Phil.
Regarding the possibility of losing the customization when your theme updates, a possible way of dealing with this is to place the additional code in a child theme – that said, the best thing here is to read up on your theme framework’s documentation and see what the framework authors suggest, I’m sure they have a strategy that allows people to safely customize their themes.
For the “private events” that are showing in the upcoming events list I’m afraid I’m going to have to pass this one up the chain – I think we could do this with another filter however I’d rather pull in advice from an expert on this one.
If you bear with me I will see if I can get some help from one of the core devs.
Thanks!
BarryMemberYeah sorry Phil, I must have missed your reply. Give me a sec to look over this.
BarryMemberNo problem – if you do need some help just let us know!
BarryMemberHi Robert, thanks for getting in touch with us. That’s a strange problem!
If possible, could you try switching to a default theme such as Twenty Eleven and see if that helps? If it doesn’t, could you also deactivate all other non-Tribe plugins?
I’m guessing you are still in the test and development stage since you aren’t yet using a domain name, but if for any reason you can’t run through the above steps then just let me know and I’ll have a think and see if we can tackle this some other way.
I wondered also if you had customized your templates at all – the category view doesn’t look quite as I would expect.

Not sure if that’s quite what you’re after, but it might be a good starting point.
BarryMemberNo problem, hope everything else goes smoothly for you guys 🙂
Thanks for getting in touch!
August 14, 2012 at 11:07 am in reply to: Next month link breaks template, but refresh and it's fine #23638BarryMemberHi Dan. I think the problem here could be that you have declared two divs which share the same ID (div#tribe-events-content).
Could you try editing your customized grid view template and change the second of those divs (the one that contains your custom content)? I’ve updated your paste here http://pastebin.com/sARUSp3Z so you can see what I mean – I changed the extra div’s ID to #dans-custom-topper … of course this may mean you also need to update any related CSS rules.
That seemed to fix the problem when I tested it locally, if you could try it out and let me know that would be great …
BarryMemberOK, that’s an interesting issue. I’m just chatting to some other team members, could be that there are a couple of different ways to approach this. I’ll get back to you once I’ve got something a little more substantive to report 🙂
BarryMemberHi Brian. We’re aware of some issues (such as those you linked to) involving WPML and I’ve asked Daniel, from the development team, to take another look at this.
As soon as he provides some feedback I will do my best to update you. You might also want to keep an eye on this thread (which you’ve already seen) in case an update is posted there:

Thanks!
August 14, 2012 at 9:24 am in reply to: Next month link breaks template, but refresh and it's fine #23631BarryMemberHi Dan – could you confirm the approach you are using to insert the copy in it’s desired position?
BarryMemberHi Caitlin.
It would certainly be possible to customize the templates a little so that the calendar for instance doesn’t provide a link to the list of events on a given date.
Would that help?
BarryMemberHey Marcus, I’m not aware of anything in The Event Calendar that would cause that … could I ask you to confirm if the message you quoted is the exact text?
It would also be great if you could let me know which version of The Events Calendar (and Events Calendar Pro) you are using – you can figure that out if you look at the plugins admin page.
If you could also send across a screenshot that would be terrific. Thanks!
August 14, 2012 at 8:53 am in reply to: customize output of recurring events: list title/desc once, all dates under that #23625BarryMemberThat’s a neat idea; let me see if there are any existing solutions for this.
