ParticipantI’m using calendar/tickets to sell tickets for a weekend retreat (20+ art classes)
Good news – We’ve sold about 600 tickets to 20+ events to about 170 people.
Bad news – I didn’t think ahead. Some folks purchased 2 tickets to an event (i.e., one for themselves and one for their daughter).
So, the Attendee list for each class isn’t very helpful. It has the name of the person who bought the tickets in two rows (if they bought two seats). In some cases, even that name isn’t good because it’s a husband who bought the tickets for their spouse.
I need to go in and manually put the right names for each class. Luckily, all 170+ people don’t need tweaked.
I tried to log in as the customer (using the “Shop as Customer” plugin from Woo) and go to the event, and see they have two tickets and click and I see the screenshot attached.
The “Attendee 1” and “Attendee 2” fields are NOT editable. Clicking Update Tickets only takes me back to the same page.
How can I get the “right names” in all of these Attendee 1 and Attendee 2 fields?
I don’t mind if I have to edit every single ticket – the end result – the class roster – must be correct for the teachers to know who to expect, etc. I’m even ok working in the DB (php admin) if that’s required. I just have to get these rosters to make sense (and can’t edit them by hand because we are selling tickets up to the last minute).
I know, for 2018, I need to let shoppers type in the name for each ticket – my bad.
Thanks in advance!

MemberHi Joseph,
Sounds like you’ve made a fantastic start!
The bad news is, the purchaser name as listed in the admin attendee table is derived from the order data. If a customer purchases 2 tickets, then there is only one purchaser and there’s no perfect way to workaround this … however, if you are using Event Ticket Plus you could potentially use custom ticket meta data to collect individual attendee names.
Question: when I look at your license keys, I don’t actually see an Event Tickets Plus license amongst them. Did you purchase a license key under a different account?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi!
I understand I can use TicketsPlus to add custom fields. I have some on other events. That’s the perfect solution going forward.
My question is, what do I do about the sales I have so far?
Can I add the custom field, Attendee Name, to the existing event and than go back and edit the sales I already have to fill in that field?
Why does the screen shot I attached show “Attendee 1” and “Attendee 2” with no names filled in? What should be on that page? What should “Update Tickets” do?
Weird, it’s not under this account. Could be under my other account, [email protected]

I’m really sorry, but that is not currently something the plugin supports.
It would theoretically be possible to create the custom fields (it sounds like you have already done this and are using them for new orders) and then ‘backfill’ the missing data, however this would be a comparatively complicated operation and beyond what we can usually assist with.

That is weird – unfortunately, I’m drawing a blank when I search for that email address or ones like it.
Would you mind logging in using the relevant account instead? Or, if you have the receipt from your Event Tickets Plus purchase handy, feel free to share the order number by private reply (and I can validate things that way).
Thanks!
