We have released a hotfix last week (version 4.5.8.1) for Event Aggregator related issues. Please update The Events Calendar and check if you are still experiencing the same issues.

Let me know and if the issue persists then we can dig deeper.

    Cheers,

    Hi again Cathy,

    Great question!

For Event Aggregator we don’t have a multi-site license. Every domain counts as a different site. So site1.domain.com and site2.domain.com count as two different sites.

    Hey Alan,

I’ll check if there is any setting like that.

The error message says it cannot find this file:

    /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/vendor/autoload_52.php

Could you please check if this file exists on the server? The file is part of the free The Events Calendar plugin.

This files is usually called / used if you are using php version 5.2. What php version do you have?

If the file exists, then there could be a referencing issue, when the file is called. You can check with your provider if this points to the right folder / file.

    /var/www/vhosts/glendalechristian.net/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/vendor/autoload_52.php

Let me know please what you find.

    Cheers,

    Hi again,

I managed to get a different perspective on this, here’s the extra feedback.

Regarding the admin panel, Advanced Post Manager adds some extra queries, so that is something to take into account.

I see their theme is customizing our templates, so it could be worth testing for conflicts to see if using a default theme reduces the number of queries.

If testing for conflicts doesn’t change anything, asking the list of queries for that month view (in category) could show us something to look at.

In terms of what would be the number of events TEC can handle, this is something that really depends on many variables like server resources, number of events/posts, caching, etc. So difficult to say.

Hope this will help us get further. Let me know the results of the conflict test once you manage to do that.

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hello Delia,

Thanks for your interest in our plugins and for reaching out with your question!

The functionality you require is not available out of the box. I believe however that with some custom development that could be easily achieved.

My thinking of the execution would be adding an email address in a custom field for the event and once an rsvp is submitted, then pulling that email address and send a notification there.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Cheers,

    Hello Alan,

Thanks for using our plugins and for reaching out to us!

I’m sorry about this issue with the seemingly missing file.

I checked your previous threads and I see you had similar issues before.

Did you by chance try manually re-install the plugins and see if that helps? Might be the long directory issue outlined by Brook in this thread.

If that helps then likely it is the long directory name issue. While we are investigating that issue on our side, could you also get in touch with your provider to see if they can adjust a setting for that on the windows server?

Looking forward to hear if the manual update works.

    Hello Cathy,

Thanks for your interest in Event Aggregator!

The Event Aggregator license is separate from Events Calendar Pro and at the moment we only have the 3 import packages available (100, 200, 1000 imports for 10 sites), which you see and purchase on the Event Aggregator product page.

We might be launching packages for more sites in the future, but at this moment I cannot confirm that.

    Hello Gaetano,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m so happy to hear you like the theme!

There is no other version of the theme you are using. The “Demo” in the name only signifies that we use it on our site where we demonstrate the capabilities of our Calendar plugins.

The theme doesn’t have any built-in limitations, simply that is how it comes.

Please note, that this theme is not supported by us. If you are trying to get it setup, modify it, or seeking any other type of support check out the general Themes and Templates forum on WordPress.org. We are providing this “as is” and can not guarantee it will work properly for every website. It is a heavily modified version of Twenty Twelve. Like WordPress this theme is licensed under the GPL.

I hope this clarifies. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hello Ty,

Thanks for considering our plugins and for reaching out!

I can confirm, if you are updating the event detail in the WordPress admin and you have the option “Leave this event associated with eventbrite.com?” enabled, then the changes will be pushed to Eventbrite as well.

The update doesn’t work the other way around, so if you make changes in Eventbrite, then the changes will not be reflected on your WordPress site.

I hope this clarifies. Let me know if you have further questions, I’d be happy to answer them for you.

    Cheers,

    Hey Ron,

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!

If I understand correctly, then this is the process you want your visitors to go through:

    1. Choose an event type (category)
    2. Choose a date
    3. Choose a ticket

My approach to this would be the following:

    1. Create all the events that will happen and create the tickets for them.

    2. Assign the categories to those events.

(Likely you have these two steps already done.)

    3. Create a simple Page that lists the different event categories and point them to corresponding different Event Category lists. The respective URLs to the categories will be like “https://domain.com/events/category/{category-slug}/”

For showcasing all the events in one category I would recommend the list view. For this purpose you might want to set List view as the default view under Events > Settings > Display tab.

Did I get that correctly? Does this help? Let me know if you have further questions.

    Cheers,

    Hello Ira,

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!

Sorry about your issue here. Let me try to help you with that.

I see that you are using two similar plugins to handle events.

I checked your site but wasn’t able to find any events on your site that would be handled by our plugins The Events Calendar and Event Tickets / Event Tickets Plus. Could you share with me a url to a page where you are experiencing this?

    Thanks,
    Andras

    Hello Julian,

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!

That is a great question you have there!

Once the event is set to private in Eventbrite, then your website is no longer able to fetch the details of the event, thus it is not able to show the tickets.

This is how the Eventbrite API and our plugins work, so I’m afraid if you want the event to be private you will not be able to show the tickets on your site.

I hope this clarifies. Let me know if you have further questions.

    Hi Kam,

Thanks for sharing all that with me.

This looks like a complicated case with a lot of customization, so a lot of things could be happening… I’ll try to help you get this fixed as best as I can.

I am not a developer so doing this is quite scary as don’t want to break the site.

I fully understand this 🙂 I’ve been there too. Plenty of things can be done to ensure nothing breaks long term and it’s quite easy to be safe.

Always have a backup to go back to. There are a number of good backup plugins available, both free and pay-for. UpdraftPlus is a pretty popular free one and does what is needed.

So in case something breaks or you cannot undo, you can restore the backup.

I do not have a test site yet…

It is as easy as having a live website. 🙂 Basically you would need to create a copy of your current site either under a new domain or under a subdomain. I believe your hosting provider should be able to help you with that, and once you have a test site then you will definitely not have anything to be afraid of.

Also, there are a couple plugins out there which can help you create a copy of your site / migrate your site. These are usually not free though, but in my experience worth every penny. UpdraftPlus has an extension, or another popular backup & migrate plugin in BackupBuddy.

…I also haven’t tested on twentyseventeen

Nothing really to be afraid of here. When you switch themes your theme settings are saved and will not get lost, so when you switch back you will get back whatever you had before. (And in case something would not, then you already have a backup to go back to. 😉 But usually this doesn’t happen.)

If you manage to test the effect with twentyseventeen then we might be able to narrow down the issue: whether it is coming from your theme / customization or not.

However when I remove this, the entire site goes down.

After much digging and testing I have found the issue with 4.5.2. There is a typo in the code, which will likely be corrected in the upcoming maintenance release. Until then you can just stick to 4.5.1.

Also note that if you just want to move the ticket fields above the description, you can do that now without any code. You can do that under Events > Settings > Tickets tab > Ticket settings section > Location of tickets form. I would recommend rather using this option and removing the custom code from your theme.

So hang in there, fix is on the way. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Andras
