Isn’t life sort of ironic that way? The box you check to see if there are errors is what causes the error perceived? That message is not an actual error, just a debug log. You are in good shape.
I appreciate the suggestion. We were just debating making that a wp-config setting rather than a settings panel option to simply avoid that type of confusion.
Shane PearlmanMemberHi John & Laurie,
Do you by any chance have TEC debug mode on (http://cl.ly/GYzS) in the events calendar general settings tab? Those are internal error logs for our developers and really shouldn’t be turned on unless you are doing some serious mods (and then only while deving).
Shane PearlmanMemberHey Christina,
John poked at it today and noticed that the issue had to do with some new security measures we put in based upon the recommendations of the core team. John said he could update the tutorial to provide a new approach and is working on it. We’ll let you know as soon as he has a working solution.

Shane PearlmanMember2.0.1 is all about template tags. We haven’t really touched anything in regards to css. As far as that goes, I’d juts whip out the ol trusty firebug nd go at it.
Shane PearlmanMemberbtw – we are posting updates like this to the Facebook page super consistently. https://www.facebook.com/ModernTribeInc
Shane PearlmanMemberHi Teneke,
We just put 2.0.1 through QA today and found a few solid bugs that were introduced. I’m guessing we are on track for thursday to fix those and release (as long as Rob doesn’t find more serious bugs to delay).
If you are willing to deal with those bugs of the next few days while we fix them, you can ping Rob at [email protected] and he will send you a copy of the current 2.0.1 build. Here is a quick export of the auto compiled documentation of the template tags and advanced functions. I’ll get a nice style etc when we put it on our site but it should hold you over. http://cl.ly/BFao. Note that these docs are for 2.0.1 (not 2.0) as the template tags got a bit of refactoring for 2.0.1.
Shane PearlmanMemberRob – can you follow up with Rona early next week – this might be a legit bug.
Shane PearlmanMemberreply from Cynthia (came via email)
Hi. I’ll have our events poster send me the steps she went through. I had another thought about what might be causing it. I created an events directory in my theme and copied some templates over to it. I have been in the process of trying to edit the css and templates to see if I can get the styling problems fixed. (Haven’t succeeded yet.) Would that activity, even though it is in my theme folder, have any affect on the plugin? Would it affect how it is configured and then reset everything?
Or perhaps the dates all changed when the plugin was activated and reactivated during our tests.
Shane PearlmanMemberAdam – to be clear, when you add other page templates to your theme the events selector is not showing them?
Rob – can you work with john to test that (he may need to help you out – easy enough to do)?
October 20, 2011 at 10:43 pm in reply to: Events not showing when clicking into event from Calendar view #9980Shane PearlmanMemberKylie,
one thing you can do is give rob a guided tour via screencast, that ay he can at least see what you are referring to. Jing video is a nice free screencast solution.
Shane PearlmanMemberRona, to be clear, you are referring to the calendar widget on your home page?
I certainly see the issue you are facing. I am going to have rob see if he can reproduce the issue locally. If so, we’ll fix it. If not, we’ll come back to you with more questions.
=)
Shane PearlmanMemberThanks Bruce,
I’ll have rob see if he can reproduce it in the morning and figure out what is going on.
Shane PearlmanMemberGood catch!
We appreciate you reporting it. We’ll look into it. Not sure if this will make it into 2.0.1 as we are in code freeze but 2.0.2 for sure.
Shane PearlmanMemberHey Adam,
We are working on the template tag documentation first. Once that is out, the next thing I am going to do is get reid drunk and have him do a “Friday Beers with Reid” hackathon tutorial series on how to modify your theme with custom templates. Might be a couple weeks before those get out.
As for selecting a custom field, let me check with john on that. I’m pretty sure we have a template tag just for that, but upon looking real quick, I didn’t find it. I think John is out tomorrow, but I know he is working on it Saturday.
