Rob
MemberHi Wes. I can check with our developer John to see if he has any suggestions on how you could do that.
Rob
MemberHi again Kevin. We may introduce something like that down the road (and have discussed it), but for the time being are relying on users to add the a href code.
Rob
MemberHi Kevin. Thanks for the note. Sadly there isn’t any way to save details without a venue name — but if you create a venue and leave the name blank, it should just work and create a new venue called “Unnamed Venue.” That being said, it looks like this isn’t functional in the 2.0 code – it doesn’t save unless you manually add a name. We introduced some code in 1.3.x that was supposed to fix this; it must have gotten undone. We’ll get that patched for 2.0.1 or 2.0.2, both of which should be coming over the next couple of weeks.
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-up, Lauren. Regarding the messed up frontend venue page: that’s definitely a legit bug, and I was able to recreate it on my end. We’re working to get it fixed for either 2.0.1 or 2.0.2, both of which should be released over the next couple weeks here.
Wish I could offer up more regarding the secondary plugin that is creating the related post content (seeing the issue you noted at that link), but that’s sadly outside my area of expertise. Maybe email the creator of that plugin directly? If he needs to know the tags we’re using to call event data, I can get that over to him as needed if it’d help resolve your conflict here.
Let me know if you need anything else on this front.
Rob
MemberThanks folks, this is a good suggestion. It’s not doable out of the box yet, but I’m going to log this right now for our team to discuss as we build out 2.1 feature requests.
October 25, 2011 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Creating a drop down event category search on the front end #10133Rob
MemberHey again. Depending on the theme you’re using, you’d likely have to add it to whichever menu is configured as the “header” or equivalent. That should get it to appear across the board on the home/sub-pages.
On your second point: if I understand the issue correctly, couldn’t you just add the top level “Events” as the first item, then each of the event categories directly underneath it (indented on the backend, so they appeared sub-categories of the top level item on the frontend)? If it’s just showing them as a list that’s likely an issue with your theme rather than the plugin itself…
Let me know if this is still a problem and I can keep looking into it.

Member@Tony: Yup. Thinking this is a legit issue but I’ve got our dev taking a look now.
@Ruben: I’ll follow up on your email momentarily.
Rob
MemberThanks guys. May take you up on the tutorial offer at some point once the dust settles here, and appreciate the offer – let me check with the dev first to see if he has any shorter term suggestions here, or if there’s anything we can do to meet Kevin’s suggestion for the 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 releases.
Rob
MemberHi Cindy. You should be able to edit that file as you would any other, but would have to copy the source over and put the new copied file in that folder (so you had two existing out there in the code). That help?
Rob
MemberThat’s very weird – not sure why that would happen, but it’s definitely possible. Going to check with the dev on this and if he thinks it’s a bug we’ll get logged/fixed for the next release. Thanks for the heads up!
October 24, 2011 at 5:35 pm in reply to: Bug: Custom Event Field – Dropdown with just numbers as values display issue #10090Rob
MemberHi Nick. I just tested the same criteria you noted on a default 2011 theme install with no other plugins active, and was unable to recreate the problem. What are the exact steps (ie recurrence settings for the event, other custom fields you’ve got, etc) you went through here?
Rob
MemberHey Adam. We’re pushing to get this out by Thursday, so you have what you need going into the weekend. If that changes we’ll let you know but I don’t see any reason why it would at this point.
Rob
MemberSure, I can see what the dev suggests. Give me a day or so to get a response from him on this.
Rob
MemberExcellent! Glad to see you got this one figured out, even if it was before I had a chance to look at it. Let me know if anything else arises.

MemberHey Anthony, I can take a look at this for you – not sure what the issue would be here. What are the steps you went through to get this? I’ll try to recreate on my end.
