Hey, thanks Rob! We’re definitely always interested in testimonials – if you’ve got one (written is fine) that you’d be willing to send over, shoot it to rob at tri.be. Thanks again man!

Hi Meghan. The upcoming events widget is actually different from the calendar widget; you’d have to enable both separately. Upon installing/activating PRO, all PRO-related widgets should be available under Appearance –> Widgets, like so: http://cl.ly/1g3T3w2L0K3x3Z2o2G1J.

    That help?

Hi Cindy! You’ll just want to create a new folder called “events” in your template directory, copy over those files you’d want to modify and tweak them to your heart’s content. You can find more on the process and what files can/can’t be edited at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/faqs/, by scrolling to the first question in the Customization section: “What are template overrides, and how do I do them?”

Hope that helps. Let me know if you’re still having issues from there.

Hi Tracy. You should be able to accomplish what you’re going for by visiting the Settings –> The Events Calendar page, then copying the iCal feed URL and plugging that into Google Calendar. Let me know if you’re aiming to do something different here.

Thanks for confirming. Let me look into this, will be back in touch as soon as I’ve got a substantive response.

Hey Adam. I’m pretty sure you can update that .php file just like any others via a template override (so you avoided reverting your changes upon upgrade), but let me check with our dev to confirm that. Will post confirmation as soon as I’ve got it.

Hi Lauren! Thanks for the note. Happy to help on these.

    1. We’re going to hold off until we get 2.0.1 out the door before we put up the demo site; inevitably, on launch we got flooded with bug reports and some of those were fairly critical. We’re working through those and pushing for a 2.0.1 release very soon. At that point, we’ll include it on a test page at this site where you can check out how the finished product is supposed to look. But that being said…if you send me a link to your site, I can take a look to see if I have any suggestions off the bat.

    2. What’s the plugin called? Not sure I can offer up much support but I can take a quick look at that one too.

Feel free to follow-up with any other questions you may have!

Hi Kylie. Thanks for the follow-up; sorry to hear the suggestions proposed previously didn’t work. Glad to see we’ve narrowed this down to the theme itself. Have you tried changing the templating options under the Settings –> The Events Calendar page? There are a couple of built in ones, as well as whatever your theme has to offer. Playing around with those will change how your plugin appears along the site. Let me know.

You don’t need to make a page called “Event,” no – the event URLs are configured under your settings page as well. Can I get a link to your site to check this stuff out directly?

Hi Jacob. Thanks for the follow-up; that’s definitely cause for concern, because if it wasn’t clear to you there are surely a number of other users who felt the same way. Let me talk to the team about clearing that up for a future release.

The point you made regarding the pop-up is definitely a legitimate one; it does just go to a dead page. My apologies about that and thank you for reporting it…we’ll make sure it gets fixed for 2.0.1.

If you need anything else, just holler.

Robert & Christina – we’ve identified that this was a legitimate bug. We have fixed it for 2.0.1, so that anytime someone is on an events-related loop (list view, grid view, single day, etc) the top-level “Events” header is highlighted. Just QA’d this today so it’s ready to go once we get the code out there.

We’re putting the finishing touches on 2.0.1 right now. I’m hesitant to give a specific date we’ll have it out since that’s still in flux, but we’re very close. If you send me an email (rob at tri.be) I can send you the code as soon as it’s stable – even if the official release isn’t yet out.

Hi Ruben, thanks for the note on this. This is bizarre as I’m unable to recreate this on my end; when I use my test site and check an eventless month, those fields still appear without issue. Does the same thing happen if you set your events to appear at /events, instead of /calendar? Also, have you modified the code at all using template overrides or something similar?

Hi Adam. Thanks for the note on this. As it stands shortcode embeds are unfortunately not an option; but, you can control how your calendar looks a number of ways. You can add HTML before/after on the Settings page, or if you were looking to get more in-depth could always do a template override (specific details of which are available in the FAQ).

What exactly were you trying to edit on that page? Perhaps I can point you in the right direction.

Hey Jerome. Thanks for the heads up; that screenshot you posted is actually not from Gravity Forms, but from Tim’s walkthrough (which he did independently). We don’t control the content of that site and never said the frontend event submission would be included from the offset.

That being said, I’m sure this was just an oversight on Tim’s end and we’ve dropped him a note requesting he make it a bit clearer. Note that our frontend submission we’re using will not be the exact same functionality as that Gravity Forms walkthrough and will differ visually, functionally, etc. We’ll announce more on that once we’ve made some more progress on the code.
