Member🙂 I was worried there for a moment, glad to see you got this figured out. Cheers.

MemberThanks for confirming, Nick. I am seeing this now too – looks like the reason I wasn’t yesterday was because I was using the latest version of the code that will be released as 2.0.1; when I install the tagged official 2.0 release, I’m able to recreate your issue.
Which means: this is technically already fixed, just hasn’t been released yet. Once 2.0.1 is out later this week, the issue you noted in your last message should be resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

MemberAh, so it looks like you’ve got this set, right? That’s a good point you raised there regarding having to specify the default template; going to check with our dev to see if there are any workarounds on that down the road.
October 25, 2011 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string #10157Rob
MemberThanks for confirming. So if I understand the issue correctly here: you’re saying that you had a menu item added in 1.3.3, but that on upgrading and going back to the Menus page, it tells you in a little red error box that the menu is no longer present / includes the error you’d noted?
Let me know if I misinterpreted it (if I did, any chance you could send a link or screenshot?) If not, there’s no way to work around that at this point, unfortunately – you’d have to re-add those menu items manually.

MemberSure thing Kylie, send it over to rob at tri.be and I can look into the issue directly. Please also include a link to this thread so I have some context 🙂 Thanks in advance!
Rob
MemberYes, you two are the only folks who have reported this so far – and I’ve been unable to recreate it on my end. Not to say it isn’t a legit issue; just harder to diagnose when it isn’t easily recreatable.

MemberHi Cindy. You’d want to save the copied file in the new folder, called “events”, that you’ve created in your template directory. That help?
Rob
MemberCindy: the comments would have to be both enabled under Settings –> The Events Calendar, and then turned on within the individual event posting on the backend. If you turned on comments after publishing an event, for example, you’d likely need to go back into that event and manually re-turn on the comments there.
Hope that helps. Let me know if not…
Rob
MemberHey man. It looks like the different views for the event titles (in list view, grid view, venue list, etc) are controlled between lines 40 and 87. In terms of colors you can use, there are some good options at this site: http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html/
Hope that helps. Let me know if not.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear! Thanks for confirming, Mike. That will definitely come in handy for other users who have related questions down the road.
Rob
MemberI just checked this out on an iPad and was able to see the issue you’ve noted. Any chance this is an issue of the template settings, more than anything? Would be interested to see whether changing your templating options under Settings –> The Events Calendar resolved this…
Let me know if not.
Rob
MemberHi Kevin & Mary. We do have more on this; Shane posted an update on how to make it happen late last week. You can check that out here: https://theeventscalendar.com/show-your-events-in-the-main-post-loop/. We probably won’t be reverting back from the custom post type approach on an official basis but this solution should work for those interested in taking an alternate route.
Let me know if this doesn’t help or if you folks have any other questions.
Rob
MemberHi Tineke. How are you trying to do this, via shortcode embeds? Would one of the widgets work, or is the sidebar not where you want it displayed? Let me know and I can either provide a response directly or get our developer John to take a look.
Rob
MemberHi Al. I’m speaking with John, our developer, about this tomorrow (Wednesday) to see if we can get this updated by the end of the week so everything’s functional as it should. I’ll post that here in the forum once it’s confirmed/set.
If you wish to downgrade between now and then, shoot me an email (rob at tri.be) and I can work with you to get that taken care of.
October 25, 2011 at 4:36 pm in reply to: upcoming events not showing up on the Advanced Upcoming Events widget #10140Rob
MemberHi Tracy. hardcoding it is going to be a pretty intense process and unfortunately not something I have any documentation on right now. If you want to shoot me an email (rob at tri.be) with a link to this thread and a set of backend admin credentials for your site, I’d be happy to take a look directly and get our dev involved if needed. That work for you?
