MemberHey Kyle. Sorry to hear you’re having issues here. Are you running 2.0.2 for both versions? The only time I’ve heard of this issue happening is if someone is using 2.0.1 of one plugin, 2.0.2 of the other. Could that be the case here?

MemberHey Scott. Sorry to hear we haven’t been able to offer up a full resolution to your issues here. I see you said you jumped from 1.6 to 2.0. Was it 1.6.5 (the final 1.x open source release), or actually 1.6? I’m wondering if that could be the issue…does this happen on events created fresh in the 2.0 install as well, or just migrated ones?

MemberHey Dan, thanks for the report on this. What have you done differently between the instructions outlined in the readme file and your actual site? Is it possible this is a theme or plugin conflict that you could check on a default 2011 plugin-free install?
It also might be worth talking to Tim, who wrote the initial tutorial, or checking the comments on his walkthrough at Creative Slice. While we’ve been able to find a way to lightly support it on our end…the code itself is all his. (Though, we are working on a frontend event submission plugin of our own for early next year).

MemberHey Robert. Thanks for following up; bummer to see that doesn’t function quite as we’d hoped. I’ve logged this for discussion in a future release – while I can’t guarantee when and if it’ll make the cut (we’re in a code freeze through 2.1 at this point), but since a few folks have requested this I think there’d be value in including it.
In the interim, let me see if one of our devs has any suggestions for getting Google to jump to the closest marker. The support team is pretty limited this week and next due to the holidays, but I’ll do my best to get you an answer before we close for a week at the end of Friday.
Rob
MemberYou too! Happy holidays and a Merry Christmas, from the Tribal Council 🙂 We’ll hit this as soon as we can.
Rob
MemberAh, I see what you’re saying now – thanks for the clarification. I hadn’t noticed that yet but this is a great catch. I’ll pass it on to the dev team to get that patched up for 2.1, which should be out early next year. Thanks!
Rob
MemberHey Anthony. Thanks for the follow-up. On all of your Parish Office Closed events, I’m seeing them to look like this: http://www.st-mikes.org/event/parish-office-closed/. What is the random information you speak of? All I see there is the event title.
Rob
MemberS: Thanks for the follow-up. For your #4, you’re just saying you’d have it repeat the venue details twice? Couldn’t you accomplish the same thing by just not using an organizer? Or would you have different details about that same entity in each section…
For #2, I understand what you’re saying now. Thanks for clarifying – that makes sense and I agree it wouldn’t be too hard to implement. Thanks for the suggestion.
Seth: I like your suggestion. Sort of like what you did on the site you’ve been building, right?
December 20, 2011 at 1:01 pm in reply to: Not choosingVenue and Organiser using Events Calendar Pro 2.0 with Gravity Forms #12549Rob
MemberHey Aaron. Have you checked out our forum on this, where users were exchanging suggestions on how to make it functional? It’s right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/integration-with-gravity-forms/. We also published some suggestions on our end: https://theeventscalendar.com/event-submissions-using-gravity-forms-in-2-0/.
While we can’t provide direct support on that hack (though you may be able to get some suggestions by checking with Tim, who wrote the GF integration aspect initially), I will note that our official equivalent of this – the Community Events add-on – will be out in early 2012 and should have what you’re looking for in it.
Sorry I can’t offer more here. Let me know if you have any other questions on this.
Rob
MemberHey Kelvin. You should be able to modify what you’re looking for in the “Resources” folder within the plugin. Does that help?
Rob
MemberHere’s another solid site, and the first to come through our Showcase Submissions intake form here on the site. The user, Seth, notes: “Our calendar view is pretty stock, but we modified the single view and added upcoming events to our homepage (http://www.dmu.edu). Also edited the ‘Add to calendar’ functionality a bit.”
Aside from how awesome it is to see our plugin at play on an institute of higher learning’s website, we really liked how Seth specifically updated the single event view. Check out a few examples he highlighted:
* http://www.dmu.edu/event/jasper-wine-tasting-2011/
* http://www.dmu.edu/event/chs-golf-benefit-2011/
* http://www.dmu.edu/event/les-miserables-in-minneapolis/The “Event has passed” yellow box is a nice touch, especially when seen in conjunction with a nice large featured image (like in the Les Mis example). The sidebar detail also does a very nice job of bringing out the cost/venue/organizer details more than they normally appear by default. Great work, Seth!
Now that someone has stepped forward to show what he’s done, we’re looking forward to hearing from some more of you…
December 19, 2011 at 6:52 pm in reply to: Where is the complete file(s) for the events advanced list widget? #12531Rob
Member🙂 Awesome to hear you’ve figured this out, Greg. Thanks for the words – our developers will be happy to hear it. I know we’re improving the custom field experience a bit for the 2.1 release, so my guess is that item you’ve reported will be tackled then.
If anything else comes up or if you’re looking to do anything that may be confusing, give us a shout and we’ll do what we can. Cheers!
Rob
MemberHey Jesus. Sorry to hear that. I will note that for any customization, most plugins are going to require some access to the plugin files beyond the WP backend. Do you have your site configured via FTP? I can show you screenshots of how to get to the plugin folder from within your FTP client as needed, you’ll find it very easy I’m sure. Let me know if so.
