Scott
MemberYup – tested without other plugins…
I didn’t do the initial creating, but from what I understand: the events were created including duplicates on different dates to simulate recurrance.
Then the plugin was upgraded (1.6 -> 2) and some events were changed to be recurring… giving it a look now, I think I see what you mean… There should only be one ‘concert in the park’ event, but it should be marked as recurring and have it date range and such set… right?

MemberHey Scott. Sorry to hear we haven’t been able to offer up a full resolution to your issues here. I see you said you jumped from 1.6 to 2.0. Was it 1.6.5 (the final 1.x open source release), or actually 1.6? I’m wondering if that could be the issue…does this happen on events created fresh in the 2.0 install as well, or just migrated ones?

MemberProbably 1.6.5 … I’m pretty sure we were up to date before the big switch. It seems the list is staying ordered as the events were entered. The first events entered being the top of the list, so I haven’t seen any newly entered events appear on the widget regardless of their start date.

MemberHey Scott. Thanks for confirming. Since this is a strange issue that neither Jonah nor I can identify the cause of, I’m going to need to run this up the flag to an advanced member of the dev team. No guarantees the response will be immediate (see my sticky post about limited support this week & next as to why) but this is on our radar and will be addressed shortly after the holiday if we don’t get to it by EOD tomorrow. Please keep those credentials you created for Jonah active so we can check this out on the backend as well.

MemberThanks for keeping up with it. My client is a lot less stressed now that it’s off the front page and happier to know you’re all on the case. Thanks for all the work so far. 🙂

MemberJust a heads up that this is on the radar to be addressed this week, now that the team is back from their respective vacations. Stay tuned.

MemberWell, after a bunch of testing I’m pretty sure I have a handle on the problem. Seems our older version of wordpress (3.1.4) doesn’t want to sort the events correctly. I did a fresh install on a test server of just 3.1.4 and the newest copies of event calendar pro and replicated the problem. Upgraded wordpress to the latest and the events fell into line…
My problem now though is my web host is still running MySQL 4.2 which prevents me from upgrading wordpress on the production server… I appreciate all the help in this though, feel free to mark this case solved/closed.

MemberAh, thanks for the follow-up, Scott — bummer to hear about the MySQL issue. Not sure how this one slipped through the cracks (I saw that I said I’d get a dev to respond, but none ever did)…so I apologize for that. Glad to hear that for our part on the calendar side, though, there wasn’t a bug or something that needed fixing.
If you have any other calendar-related issues going forward, let me know and I’ll do what I can to assist. Have a great weekend.
