January 23, 2012 at 10:26 am in reply to: iCal not importing correctly into Outlook: how do I access the .ics generating c #13847
Rob
MemberHey Marc: are you saying that the iCal link from within a specific event is doing this, or the broader iCal link that appears in grid view? If the latter, that’s the intended behavior…and I was unable to recreate the former. Any chance you can share your site or some specific instructions to recreate so I can give it a go? Thanks in advance.

MemberThanks Benjamin. Received and responded accordingly. Looks like someone else is having a related issue (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/repeating-events-editing-gives-spinning-circle/) so it definitely seems like there’s something up related to the 3.3.1 install. But as I mentioned to Sam and in my email to you, Benjamin, I’m still not quite sure how to recreate the problem – that is, when I click outside the box, it doesn’t do anything…and the box won’t go away until I click either current events/future events, or the checkbox. Have I missed something? Should we be testing on a specific browser or theme?
Rob
MemberHey Phillip. Thanks for the note here; sounds like you’re having the same issue as these guys (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/updating-button-keeps-spinning-not-new-publishing-either/), right? If so, would you mind continuing your comments at that thread instead of this one, so the ideas are all in the same place? Thanks in advance!

MemberHi Marc (or Marc’s dev as it may be). This is an odd issue that we haven’t much experience with; I can get a dev to take a look, but can you confirm whether you have any comment-related plugins active that could be conflicting here?
Right off the bat, I know that depending on your theme, using the different templating options available under Settings -> The Events Calendar might get the comment box to appear/hide.
Lastly: I saw you had some templating issues in a separate thread, which you seemed to be able to figure out on your end. Any chance this was resolved by one of those fixes?
Rob
MemberHey Marc. Happy to try and help you out here; any chance you’d be willing to share a link, though, so we could check it out?
Rob
MemberHi hc2ca. No problem; we should be able to point you in the right direction here. Let me see if our dev Jonah has any suggestions.
Rob
MemberHi there HAKAN. Thanks for the follow-up; so it sounds like this is a plugin conflict. Since that Term Menu Order looks to be a free plugin I’ve downloaded it accordingly and added it to the list of plugins we should test against for 2.1. No guarantees we’ll be able to get everything integrated smoothly, but it’s on our radar and we’ll do what we can.
Let me know if you need anything else along these lines or have any other questions.
Rob
MemberRobert: this is awesome. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂

MemberHi rePlay. Thanks for your interest. Have you tried the “WP to Twitter” against the free The Events Calendar, our OS counterpart to PRO? If it works with the free version it should work with PRO. And if you purchase PRO only to find that the plugin you wanted to run it alongside causes a conflict, we’re always willing to give refunds as requested. Let me know if you have any other questions along these lines.
Rob
MemberHi again Jafffa. Depending on how you wanted to do this, you could always do a template override to customize the single.php file. Remember that you also have different templating options at your disposal under Settings -> The Events Calendar, which could come in handy as well.
That help? Let me know if not.
Rob
MemberHi Jafffa. Thanks for the note. At this point, really the only way to do it is to set those events up as multi-day events and have them span accordingly. You can hack the plugin to hide certain display data but it’s unfortunately not a function out of the box.
Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. Let me know if you have any other questions along these lines.
Rob
MemberHey Brad. Thanks for the note here; not sure how to address this myself, but let me see if our dev Jonah – who wrote that tut – has any suggestions. I’ll get him to chime in directly.
Rob
MemberAlright. Thanks for confirming; while this is a bit outside my area of expertise, Jonah should know. I’ll get him to confirm this afternoon when he hits the forums.
Rob
MemberNot positive – it’s definitely possible, but since Jonah is hitting the forums this afternoon I’ll have him respond directly.

MemberHey, thanks for confirming Marc’s dev. Great to hear you got this resolved. So it sounds like you’re all set here, right? Let me know if you’re still waiting on our team to respond for anything.
