MemberThanks Mike – this is a known one that we’ve got on the radar to be fixed in 2.1. Thanks for pointing it out.
The second point, re: the post footer…I’m not able to recreate this on my default 2011 theme, unless I’m misunderstanding the request here. Can you show a link to where this is happening on your site?
Rob
MemberHi Gretchen. We’d be happy to help you out here. I’m assuming that you’re talking about the sidebar listing, right? Can you tell me how that is being generated (ie a widget or template tags)? If you can confirm on those fronts I’ll provide a more educated response.
As for the upcoming distinction: by default, list view should show upcoming events from a category while grid view shows everything from the month (past + future). The post order display you’re seeing there is usually caused by a conflict, either with another plugin or the theme. Are you in a position where you can test deactivation of other plugins in case that’s the root? Let me know if not.
Cool to see you’re in SF! I’m in Oakland myself. Always awesome to see the plugin used locally…kudos on that.

MemberThis is a good catch, Mike — thanks for pointing it out. Let me double check with the devs that there is no reason we intentionally did it that way (assuming there wasn’t though) and we’ll get this logged for 2.1 to resolve if needed.
Rob
MemberHey Steve. Thanks for reaching out. I can definitely get a dev to chime in here as needed; but first, have you checked out our documentation page at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ? It gives examples of how the template tags, etc should work to accomplish what you’re going for here. But let me know if not or if I’ve misinterpreted the request, and we can elaborate here as needed.

MemberThanks Sheila! Kristel: have you tried this? It should be spot on, though let me know if it gives you problems.
Rob
MemberSure, I can get a dev to take a look and respond here. Shouldn’t be too hard (though that being said, I’m not sure how to do it myself).

MemberThanks for the follow-up, folks. I know that we’re going to change the templating structure a bit for 2.1 to make integration easier (as this has been a common complaint the past few weeks), but I can definitely see value in what you’re suggesting here. Let me run it by the team so we can discuss the best way to get going on something along these lines. Feel free to drop any other suggestions into the thread as they come to mind…
Rob
MemberHey Marcos. Thanks for the note, and sorry to hear you’re having problems. What time zone settings are you using? I have been unable to recreate your event with the default settings (see: http://cl.ly/3F1M3R220z0O0Y3c0m2r) but if you’re using something custom it is possible there’s a bug. Let me know the specifics and I’ll test against it, then can log a bug as needed so we know to get any problems patched up in 2.1.
Rob
MemberHey Peter. You raise a good point here. Let me see if I can get one of our devs to clear this up for you; I can understand the position you’re in but am probably not in the best position to explain it. I’ll ask Jonah to take a look here and see what he can suggest.

MemberExcellent 🙂 Showcase is a great place to get your work seen. Looking forward to hearing what the rest of the community comes back with!
Rob
MemberSamuel: you rock! Thanks for what you’ve shared here…it looks like you helped out not one but two users who were having problems, which is awesome. We appreciate it big time!
Hc2ca/Sheila: if I understand correctly, you should both be set here…but let me know if I’m wrong there and if there’s anything else you need from us in an official capacity.
Rob
MemberHi Grace. What exactly are you trying to do here? Just restrict the plugin from being accessed (on the backend) by anyone lower than X permissions level? Or have I misunderstood? Let me know and we can elaborate as needed from there.
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-ups, Andrzej. I understand what you’re saying now. While I don’t have an answer for you off-hand, let me see if our dev Jonah has any suggestions. I’ve asked him to respond here directly.

MemberGot it. Thanks for confirming; I’ve got this off to our devs for today’s batch of threads so you should be getting a response shortly.
Rob
MemberRobert: Samuel’s point is spot on. Have you followed those steps but find you’re still having problems? Let me know if so and I can get a dev to take a look.
